I went in for a consultation for ptosis(drooping eyelid.) Dr. Rabinowitz examined me and then used drops to show me what my eye would look like should I choose to have surgery. This also confirmed the condition. In order for insurance to cover the surgery, a few tests are necessary. His office staff was kind enough to allow me to complete the tests the same day. They told me it would take a few weeks to hear back from my insurance company. In precisely three weeks, they called me to say it was approved and scheduled my surgery. My surgery was scheduled a few weeks later. Dr. Rabinowitz gave me the option of general or local anesthesia based on my age and level of my ptosis. I chose to have local anesthesia. I have to admit that I was a bit nervous, but he and his staff quickly put my mind at ease. My surgery began with topical anesthesia and then an injection on the outside of my lid. This was the worst part and felt no worse than a bee sting. It took about 15 minutes for my eye to become numb. Then, he lifted my eyelid to numb the inner lid. By this time, I could barely feel anything. Next, he covered my eyeball with a dark contact lens to protect the eyeball. The actual procedure to repair the eyelid took about 25 minutes. Finally, I was given an ice pack to help control swelling. The entire procedure lasted about an hour. I was told to expect swelling, bruising, blurriness and minor irritation. I did experience blurriness for about a week and irritation for a few days, but I did not have any swelling or bruising. I returned to work 5 days later. At my follow up appointment, my eye was perfect, but other eye was drooping a bit. Dr. Rabinowitz told me it was normal and would balance out in a few weeks. He was absolutely right and now they are perfect. I really couldn't be happier with the results.

Where do I begin. I was diagnosed with thyroid eye disease and it changed the way my entire face looked. I walked around in public with sunglasses on for almost two years. It broke me mentally. I had Blepharoplasty because my right eyelid had drooped h=more than halfway down my eye. It was affecting my sight and putting my contacts into my eye was becoming more difficult. Dr. Rabinowitz made sure both eyelids were even. 8 days after the surgery I am still a little bruised but my eyelids are even and I can already see the difference. The entire staff at Lankenau was professional but compassionate and caring. I was very pleased with my experience with everyone.

For 20 years eye doctors have been telling me that my right eye continuously tears due to allergies. I’ve carried around tissues, been asked if I’m crying, and have had smudged makeup for years, it’s been my normal. So, for 20 years I’ve used allergy drops and taken allergy meds and used nasal sprays. Recently it’s been so bad I couldn’t wear my contacts anymore. Finally a new eye doctor referred me to Dr Rabinowitz. Within minutes he knew exactly what was wrong with my eye, and it wasn’t allergies! He kept me calm as he examined the eye, and told he my next step: a quick surgical appt. and he and his staff rushed my appointment. Today I visited the Wynnewood office and the team was exceptional. Both Dr and his MA kept me calm, as I was very anxious! The procedure took 5 minutes, they told me next steps and I was on my way. I can’t say enough about how grateful I am! I can’t wait until I can wear my contacts and only cry at sad chick flicks!!!

Dr. Rabinowitz operated on my eyes February 11, 2016 which is over 3 years ago. I had ptosis (drooping of the upper eyelids) in both eyes and also underneath the eyes (bags) which he surgically corrected. Outstanding surgeon! I had an issue with my eyelid, the result of a prior surgery many years ago. Dr. Rabinowitz was able to reconstruct my eyelid with amazing results! You would never know there had been an issue or that I’ve had surgery.
