I was recommended to Dr Pontell from my sister who had rhinoplasty surgery a few years ago. I’ve wanted a nose job since I was 15 years old and finally got it done. My experiences with Dr Pontell were pleasant. He is realistic with his craft by making your new nose fit your face. The healing process is not strenuous at all. I had bruising and swelling for maybe 5-6 days. I am still in the healing process, but so far I am happy with the results.

Dr. Pontell changed my life. I had my revision rhinoplasty May 27, 2019, after an original surgery 20 years ago plus injury to the skin of the nose about 10 years ago. I look in the mirror now and actually like what I see. It’s amazing. He narrowed the nostrils, made the tip smaller, and even gave me a cute little hint of an upturned tip because that’s what I said I wanted. I seriously can’t stop looking in the mirror and being shocked that it looks so pretty. Knowing that revision is more complicated than primary, plus knowing I had a lot of scar tissue on the skin of my nose from the old injury, I did years of research, reading reviews, and having consultations with experienced revision rhinoplasty surgeons. I knew this would be a difficult surgery and it was really important to me to choose the best doctor possible so I didn’t waste my time and money in disappointment, or even worse, damage the nose further. I did consultations with Dr. Jonathan Becker, Dr. Randolph Capone (RIP), Dr. Thomas Le, Dr. Kofi Boahene at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Shervin Naderi & Dr. Jason Hamilton in Los Angeles. Dr. Pontell was by far the best doctor I could ever have chosen and I am so grateful I spent those years researching and consulting because it was all worth it to find such a talented, kind, caring, and miracle working doctor. He listened to what I wanted, worked with me on the goals, allowed me to make 11th hour changes (leaving the deviated septum and bridge alone bc even though it technically impacted my breathing, I didn’t notice a breathing problem and the bridge was the only part of my nose I actually liked, so we left that alone). At the surgery center the nurse told me that Dr. Pontell is known for taking his time to get things just right, so the friend I came with shouldn’t worry if the 2 hour surgery went over to 2.5 hours or so, it would just be Dr. Pontell making sure everything was perfect. When I told the nurse I’d come from 3 states away, she told me Dr. Pontell has patients come from all over the US and 2 recent ones who flew in from France and somewhere else internationally just for rhinoplasty with him. I said I totally get it, because he’s worth it. That was before the surgery. When I woke up, even with the badges on and swelling, I could see immediately I loved it. The nostrils were so much slimmer and the tip smaller and cute. Now 7 weeks later it’s just gotten better and better. Dr. Pontell called me at the hotel the evening of the surgery just to make sure I was doing ok, and when I missed that call bc I was sleeping, he called the cell of the friend who’d come with me, to make sure all was well. He gave me his personal cell and I could call night or day with any questions or concerns. When I had the stitches out I barely felt it, and there are literally no scars or even red marks whatsoever, even though there were about 15 external stitches in the nostrils and columnella. In short, this was the best decision I ever made, and I thank God, in all seriousness, for bringing me to Dr. Pontell. He is an amazing surgeon (my complicated revision went off without a hitch & is more beautiful than I ever thought possible) but just as important - or even more important in my book - he is truly kind and really cares about his patients. A thousand stars - Highly recommend. I love my new nose and am so much more confident now. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Dr. Pontell! PS Kathy & Kat at the front desk are amazing. Kathy is so warm and motherly and made me feel completely cared for and safe coming for a major surgery from out of state. The whole office truly cares and they’re just simply wonderful.

Dr. Pontell is very skilled at what he does. He took a bulbous, droopy nose and turned it into a neat, feminine nose that fits my face. Paired with a chin implant, I now look like a much better version of myself. I'm about 2wks post op and am very pleased with the results thus far. I've had absolutely no pain with my nose; not sure how he does it, but job well done Dr. Pontell!

Had Blepharoplasty surgery (upper and lower). Had lower 5 years previous with a different surgeon, but that surgeon apparently did not do it well since my eye bags returned just as bad. That surgeon also did not have as good follow-up care. Doctor Pontell saw me every few days after the surgery for the three weeks after surgery. He prescribed various ointments and eye drops as we went through recovery. He also showed me different massage techniques to expedite recovery. Two weeks after surgery, I was able to go out and no one was able to detect any signs of the surgery, except a few told me 'your looking good'. For me recovery was painless. There was some darkness around the eyes for the first 10 days or so only. That was obvious to some who saw it.

I had my surgery (septorhinoplasty) performed nearly 7 weeks ago, and I will say that I am very satisfied with the pre-op, peri-op and post-op care I received from Dr Pontell and his staff. In particular, I'd like to mention Kathy, the office receptionist, who was very pleasant to speak with both over the phone and in-person during office visits. I know that the experience of going to see a doctor can be significantly impacted by the personality of the front desk staff, and she did a remarkable job in making me feel very welcome there. The recovery period for me, was overall very brief in my opinion and surprisingly almost painless. I look, more or less, like what I had expected, based on the images he generated on his computer program, during the initial consultation which speaks greatly to his surgical skills. Most importantly, I am very happy with the results he achieved and I can say that he is certainly an artist when it comes to cosmetic surgery. Based on my personal experience, I would gladly recommend him to my friends and I would definitely return to see him for any additional procedures, that I may consider having in the future.

Overall, very positive experience with Dr. Pontell. Had rhinoplasty and chin implant done and am 2wks post op and am very pleased with the results so far. Doctor's work is very neat, clean, and very well done. The only thing I would have hoped more for is communication in the pre op portion right before surgery and more details around what to expect and how surgery went.

I am very happy with my results, very natural and nothing drastic. His surgery was challenging because I waited too long! But nevertheless, I am progressing every day, I am one month out of surgery and feel great. So far, so good. His follow up has been wonderful, always available. His staff is great too. I would highly recommend him.

First, the office and treatment rooms are very sterile. Second, the support staff are very helpful and patient. Dr. Pontell is a perfectionist. I had laser on my eyes and excision on my ear, and he kept me informed of what he was doing every step of the way. I took a couple breaks during thr laser, and he was fine with that. I am already getting compliments on my eyes, and I am thrilled. I would only recommend Dr. Pontell to others who are looking to have work done, and I will be back myself.

Dr Pontell is truly gifted and literally practices the “art” of medicine. Whether a routine office visit, in-office procedure, surgery or post-op care, he excels in both his craft and his bedside manner. I have been thrilled with his work, and work ethic. I could not have dreamed of better results. They say that plastic surgery does not fix the “inside” of a person, but Dr Pontell’s skill and care both hoped me heal a physical and psychological wound. I could not recommend a doctor any more than I do this fine physician and real mensch. Everyday of my life is lighter and easier because I entrusted him with my surgery. Horrific rhinoplasty results. Ruined my nose. Looks flat, wide, and asymmetrical. I can only breathe properly out of one nostril. My nose looks extremely wide and the bridge is completely washed out. My tip looks flatter and less upturned. Also, the tip no longer feels like a "normal" nose, and it is permanently stiff (which I was never told would happen). I would pay 50000 times as much to go back in time and never have surgery. Also had a terrible chin implant that was removed. This surgery completely derailed my life and I am still suffering the consequences (three years later). Do NOT go to this surgeon. I have also seen photos of other patients with terrible results, so he clearly has no idea what he's doing. I can't believe a surgery that lasted less than two hours has had such a monumental impact on my life. Please take surgery seriously. It is often glamorized and the process is minimized by many surgeons. Many surgeons are disingenuous and only care about money. I wish I could have my old nose back. Worst mistake of my life. Last few years have been the most miserable of my entire life. I only hope a revision can fix this mess. I cry every time I see an old picture. My nose doesn't even look normal or natural. It just looks wide, flat, and asymmetrical. My nose was thin before surgery, and I used to have a bridge between my eyes- now there is just flat space. Someone even asked me "what happened" to my nose after seeing the results. Also, the majority of his positive reviews on Realself are fake. If you message the person asking to see photos they don't respond or claim they "don't know how to post photos". lol. I can't stand to look in the mirror anymore and cry every-time I see photos of this horrible nose. I can't even look people in the eye when speaking to them anymore. I can't even smile anymore, since my nose looks like a wide, flat, messed up blob everytime I am SO DEPRESSED. He also made the tip of my nose look wide and flat, and just absolutely horrible. This has honestly ruined my life and destroyed my confidence. You must recognize the mess you created in the before and after photos that YOU took (every revision surgeon I visited has, and everyone I know admits my nose looks worse now than it did before). Thank you so much. This isn't fair. I still cry almost every day, ALMOST 4 YEARS LATER. This is like waking up to a nightmare everyday. I honestly hate my life now. I can't stand to look in the mirror anymore. I would give anything in the WORLD to have my old nose back. It looks so messed up now. I feel like a monster. This has robbed me of years of my life, and it will seemingly never end. I can't believe this is my life now. I can't believe I paid someone to do this to me. He is a complete liar and said my nose would look the same from the front, but just be smaller. NO, it is flat, looks huge and wide now. My bridge has been entirely eliminated, and it makes my eyes look far apart. RUINED MY LIFE. All I want to do is go back in time. I can't stand to look in the mirror anymore without crying. Thank you so much. I can't live like this. He doesn't care that he ruins peoples' lives with his poor skills. His only concern is money and online reviews (most positive reviews are fake). Also, notice how he barely post pictures of the front profile after surgery- because it looks MESSED UP.....GO TO ANOTHER SURGEON or risk being miserable and crying everyday for years with a DEFORMED WIDE HORRIBLE NOSE. I honestly became suicidal living with nose and had to go to a psychiatrist. I have never felt like this prior to having this disgusting blob on my face. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. My nose has lost all definition, it is worse from every angle AND my breathing is worse. ZERO BENEFITS. Only misery and years of my life wasted. Now I have to spend another year and thousands of dollars to try and get my old nose back. These surgeons should not get away with DEFORMING people. It is humiliating living with nose. I want to cry every time I see it in a mirror. It is an absolute MESS.

Dr. Pontell is a true artist! I cannot rave enough about his skill as a surgeon and also how caring he is as a person. I went to see him years ago for injections and spoke briefly about having a traditional facelift done. Fast forward more than a few years I found myself sitting in front of Dr. Pontell for injections. We again discussed a facelift. I wouldn't wear mascara/makeup, low cut shirts, or jewelry because I was so self-conscious about my heavy neck and sagging face due to it that I didn't want to draw any attention to myself. In all honesty, I didn't interview him extensively but I went on my instinct alone. He has completely changed my life and I couldn't thank him enough! His skill surpasses what I thought the results would yield. His work is next to flawless with incisions that are neat and clean and he keeps a close eye on (it) with continuous followups. Dr. Pontell's staff, Kat and Cathy, are just as warm and wonderful. They are easy to talk to and before surgery they help to ease any fears. Highly recommended and if I could give 100 stars I would.

This review is based strictly off my experience with the receptionist. They are literally the door to the office so I'm surprised Dr. Pontell employed a rude one. I called and asked for potential days that have a specific time available. She asked if I wanted the next available one and I said yes. After she told me that, I asked for other days with the same time availability (because of my own job) and she gets annoyed saying "you said next available. we have other times earlier in the day". Basically miscommunication but I always keep it professional and she was being quite rude. I also asked about insurance and she said they don't accept any insurance and that I would have to submit any claims myself after the procedure. Ummmm..no thanks.

I waited a whole year to see my final results from my rhinoplasty to leave my overall review with my experience with Dr. Pontell. Over all the surgery itself was a breeze! I was very pleased with how quickly everything was set up and how little pain or bruising I experienced during recovery. I was not happy with how rushed the entire environment is in his office though. I always feel like I am asking too many questions, and that he already has a preconceived idea of what he wants to do before hearing my input. He was not there after surgery to talk to me either which was very uncomforting. My breathing was also extremely altered and I had to go back for a revision 8 months later because I could not breathe on one side. He did fix it for free, but it was still another surgery I had to sit through and to this day my breathing is worse than it was before my nose job. I also recently went in for lip fillers and was put off by how little information he provided in regards to the different types of fillers. He didn't seem to care much for my opinion and like I said before, acted like he already knew what I wanted. It's been enough time now for the swelling to go down and one half of my lip is extremely disproportionate and actually painful from how my filler is in it. I wanted to like this place so badly but I am going to explore others options at this point.

The follow up calls and regular check-in calls were more than I would have expected, and the doctor is available 24/7 should there be any concerns regarding your procedure. The office stafff was both helpful and always available to answer non-medical questions during office hours, and to help in the prep work prior to any procedure. What more can I say... these folks are awesome.

From my initial consultation through follow-up visits, Dr. Pontell and his staff provided compassionate and personalized care, individually tailored to correct my not only prominent, but atypically pointed ears. For several years prior to my procedure, I struggled with the decision to undergo an otoplasty and vetted a few cosmetic surgeons. After meeting with Dr. Pontell and reviewing his digitally-altered photos reflecting my anticipated post-operative appearance, I, with little hesitation, elected an otoplasty under local anesthesia. My procedure was relatively painless, and my post-operative pain was well-managed with mild opiates, which I only required during the first 48 hours following surgery. On the evening of my procedure, Dr. Pontell even personally called me to confirm that I was healing smoothly. Dr. Pontell's spa-esque environment -- in refreshing contrast to a typical physician's office-- created a calming ambiance during surgery. Additionally, Dr. Pontell and his staff went above and beyond to accommodate my scheduling needs. Although I live in walking distance to their office, I practice law in Philadelphia and, at times, required appointments outside of typical business hours. Dr. Pontell kindly arranged my pre and post-operative visits around my busy work schedule. I could not be more satisfied with the results of my April 2016 otoplasty. If you're considering a head or neck cosmetic procedure, but live a considerable distance from Wane, PA, Dr. Pontell's services are well-worth a trip to the Philadelphia suburbs. Dr. Pontell is a brilliant cosmetic surgeon. I and friends who have gone to him for surgery and/or Botox have been thrilled with our results - natural and long lasting. He does all the work himself. You needn’t fear you will be asleep and a resident will be given a “small” job to do - on your face! If you are interested in injections, you won’t be handed off to a nurse. You have the benefit of Dr. Pontell’s training, fastidiousness, artistry, personal attention, and (very important) good judgement every step of the way. The office is bright and sunny, and runs on time. I’ve never felt rushed at appointments or that I was on an assembly line. Dr. Pontell’s operating room nurse is first-rate too and his office manager couldn’t be nicer or more organized.
