I went for a first time visit and was very impressed with Dr. Pellegrino and his staff. Dr Pellegrino was very professional and explained everything that would need to be done. Everyone was friendly and smiling. The office was immaculate. I arrived early for my appointment and was seen by the doctor and out of the office before my scheduled time.

I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I made an appointment with Dr Pellegrino because I will need reconstructive surgery. I was specially interested in autologous donation surgery. After viewing photos of past patients on the practice website, and upon the recommendation of the surgeon who will be doing my mastectomy, I felt comfortable that Dr Pellegrino would provide the care I needed. This was not the case. I was told that he didn’t do the surgery I was interested in, even though there are cases on the practice website. I was told I would be unable to have immediate reconstruction surgery that I would have to have delayed reconstruction. I was told that I had rather large breasts (like I didn’t already know that) and he wouldn’t be able to match the new breast in size to the remaining breast. All I kept hearing was what couldn’t be done. Dr Pellegrino avoided eye contact throughout most of my visit. For a physician whose chosen specialty is one in which women are helped to feel better about themselves, I was made to feel worse. Unfortunately this visit has been the most difficult part of my cancer journey.

Staff is delightful! Initial consultation went as expected. During pre-op, all my questions pertaining to upcoming surgery were answered by Dr. Pellegrino's assistant and then Dr. Pellegrino offered more detail and reassurance regarding upcoming surgery. Will review again after surgery.
