Amazing results! My nose after rhinoplasty looks completely natural, the healing went so smoothly, no complications at all. Dr.Mao was so thorough with explaining the specific process for my procedure, he answered all my questions, and even was in touch with me the next day to make sure all was well with the nose. Plus, the secretarial staff and nurses are so so accomodating. I would recommend Dr. Mao without a doubt, no reason at all not to go to him.

At my consultation, Dr Mao gave a realistic photo rendition of what he could do that would not only enhance my nose but address the areas that had always been a concern to me. I’m a very nervous patient when it comes to medical procedures but Dr Mao and his surgical staff were very kind and reassuring and I felt in good hands at all times. The follow up care has been extensive, much more than I expected and has surpassed my expectations. The entire process has been excellent and I cannot recommend Dr Mao and his practice enough. Great experience and did not disappoint! I had ptosis repair done by Dr. Mao and it went smoothly from beginning to end. The only regret I have is not doing this sooner! People used to tell me that I look tired all the time because of my droopy eyelids. Now I'm getting compliments on how bright they look. Dr. Mao is truly a skillful, talented surgeon and I definitely will be back for more for all of my facial needs.

I am now a year out, and I will unfortunately need a revision to do another septoplasty (that seemingly was never done in the first place!). I wasn’t given anything; surgeons notes, how the surgery went, etc. and somehow, I ended up slipping through the cracks and did not have the appropriate follow ups after surgery. They made it seem like it was my fault. I also paid a very pretty penny for all of this to be done, and unfortunately, will have to pay even more to have everything done again. I would avoid this surgeon if you can.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mao for nearly three years. My first procedure was a deep plane face lift 28 months ago. I have been thrilled with the results. I was looking for a more youthful look with out the overdone and pulled look I have seen some surgeons provide. I felt intuitively that I was in competent and sensitive hands from our first visit. Since that time I have had some injectables to keep the smooth look accomplished by the surgery. Each time I am amazed at the skill and kindness of Dr Mao. In addition I recently accompanied a friend for a consult and witnessed first hand again how each person is entirely different and requires individualized treatment. I am so grateful for the Rhinoplasty Revision I had with Dr Mao. Initially I wanted Dr Mao to perform the original surgery after I broke my nose in 2 places. However at that time, even though I had out of network benefits for the inside of my nose, the cosmetic part was not covered. The cost of the 30 percent of the inside of the nose and the 100 percent cost of the outside was very significant and led me to to another surgeon. Unfortunately, my results were awful from both a breathing perspective and an aesthetic perspective as well. My nose was crooked with a new bump, a small calcium spur on the outside of my bridge, the tip was turned down and wider than you could imagine. I cried a lot to say the least and even dropped off of social media for a while too. After 18 months of the other surgeon telling me I was swollen, kept injecting my nose with a steroid and there was really surgically nothing he could do, I called Dr Mao’s office and scheduled an appointment. I apologized to Dr Mao for not seeing from the beginning and the only reason was due to the extra 30 percent I would have had to pay from the insurance. He could have not been more gracious about it. I spent more than 1 1/2 hours there taking photos and see potentially how my nose would potentially look through digital imaging. Dr Mao asked me to get the surgical notes from the previous Physician. It took the Physician almost to the day before my surgery to send the notes. I guess he didn’t want to release his disaster. The day before my surgery Dr Mao called me to let me know that previous doctor put an implant in my nose that I had no idea about. Because of this, the surgery was going to be much more difficult. He gave me 3 scenarios of what may happen during the surgery and he would make the decision once he opened it up. Dr Mao told me he would do his best. I trusted him. The surgery took longer than expected because of the mess left by the previous physician but my result is incredible. I had the surgery April 18, 2019 (one tiny bruise) and 4 months later I look better than I have in years. If you are thinking about a Revision Rhinoplasty do not hesitate and see Dr. Mao! I have been a patient of Dr. Restifo and Dr. Mao for over 10 years; I have spent over $30,000 on procedures. I have recommended friends and family members to this practice. the one star review is warranted due to the abrasive and disrespectful treatment I received on my last visit, from Marie Celotto- Dr. Restifo's Practice Admin. As I was leaving the office, after seeing Dr. Mao, Marie yelled out of her office for me to come in, she wanted my license in order for me to use my credit card; I could not understand why, since I have been using my Amex for the past five years, without any issues, ever! when I pressed her for an explanation as to why, she did not have one; instead she rudely and unprofessionally told me that gong forward I needed to pay cash! I told her how insulted I was and did not understand her reasoning. She spoke to me in a loud voice and behaved more like a truck driver or prison guard than a professional working in a medical practice. I left and told her I would not be returning. she did not care. I called the office and left a message for Dr. Mao to call me. he never did!! After 10 Years of loyalty Dr. Mao did not have the decency to return my call. Marie Celotto is a crude, rude, uneducated hack, who should not be working at this practice. Furthermore, Dr. Mao is not the quality doctor I believed him to be.

My first rating was not as generous through no fault directly to Dr Mao; yet despite this, Dr Mao immediately and personally took his own time to clear up this misunderstanding. He fully and apologetically addressed my concern with patience and respect and in a non-judgemental, non-combative, and non-defensive manner. To me this conveys not only his work ethic, attention to detail, pride in his practice but also his desire to fully deliver professional and compassionate care. I am very much more at ease and confident in placing my care and trust in hands.

I had cosmetic rhinoplasty done by Dr. Mao, and I wouldn’t have wanted any other plastic surgeon to do it.
