Dr. Burroughs was recommended to me about four years ago when I was visiting some friends in Colorado. One of my friends said my eyes looked 'hungover'. When I visited his office he was busy with another patient so I talked with one of the ladies working in his office for a moment before sitting down to wait. The office was clean, neat, and seemed well organized. I was soon shown in to Dr. Burroughs and we talked for a few minutes before he examined my eyes. He discussed possible options with me and I decided to have my eyebrows 'lifted'. We found a date that did not interfere with my travel schedule and he surgically 'lifted' my eyebrows. I was conscious during the entire procedure and do not remember any significant pain whatsoever. I live in California and changed ophthalmologists when I changed my HMO provider a couple years later. I was very pleased that my new ophthalmologist did not notice my surgical scarring until I pointed it out to him. J

I have been coming to Dr. Burroughs's office for the last 9 years. 9 years ago I had a mini-face lift and eyelid surgery just before my daughter's wedding. It held up for about 7-8 years, but I still look better than I did. Since that time I have been getting my botox and dermal fillers at his office, and have been very pleased with the results. His office staff are very professional and courteous. He is very busy, but tries to take the time to answer my questions. I refer all my friends to him as I know he and his office will treat them well. The office keeps adding more services to keep me looking my best.

I had confidence in Dr. Burrows from the beginning, as he had an excellent reputation. His staff was kind and efficient before, during and after the procedures. I had both a mini face lift and eye lid surgery at the same time. Both areas have healed well with the eyelids taking the longest. It has now been 7 weeks, but at 3 weeks I was back to doing all I had been doing before. I am physically very active. Dr. Burrows' instructions to me regarding what I could expect, and how to care for myself after the surgery, were clear and very helpful. The results are beautiful and all that I had hoped for. I will celebrate my 80th birthday this June looking stellar. If I decide to have more cosmetic surgery in the future, John will be my choice again. Dr. Burrows also cares for my eyes as I am fair and encounter problems that need careful care and watching.

Dr. Burroughs was a God send to me in March of 2013. I had a very small red dot on my left eyelid and had visited with my Dermatologist to have it checked by him. He referred me to Dr. Burroughs and the minute Dr. Burroughs took a look at it he said let's make sure that it is nothing to worry about. I am blessed because of when the pathology report came back it was a Carcinoma. I have always been one that believes in catching things early and was thrilled when Dr. Burroughs suggested we remove the affected area. Between he and my Dermatologist they decided that the best way to address this was by performing a Mohr's procedure. When I went into the office to have the area excised by the Dermatologist I was stunned by the large section and was not quite sure that it would not leave a large scar. Then it was off to the hospital for the rest of the procedure to be performed by Dr. Burroughs. When Dr. Burroughs came into the waiting area to talk with me before the procedure I became a lifetime believer in his skills. I am a very faithful person who does not push her beliefs on anyone but when Dr. Burroughs asked if we could have a blessing before surgery I almost fell out of the bed! What doctors does that these days? He does! The night before, during my evening prayers, I had asked My Holy Father to hold Dr. Burroughs' hand during the procedure the next day. I do believe that He was holding Dr. Burroughs hands during the procedure because today there is not even the slightest scar where the procedure was done. Dr. Burroughs, in my opinion, is one of the best, if not the best surgeon I have ever met. I will refer everyone I meet to him for I feel that he is the most knowledgeable surgeon around and I know that his faith guides him in his work here on this earth. Thank you for coming into my life Dr. Burroughs. I am looking forward to seeing you next week for my final visit. You did such an amazing job. I thought the doctor was rude and seemed uncaring, and I wasnt impressed by his knowledge, or lack thereof. So I decided not to have him do the facial procedure I wanted. But I had to pay a $100 consultation fee. I was informed by three office staff that this fee could be applied to any other of their services, but not towards skin care products, and that I had 6 months total to decide, and to use the $100. Well, I called back to make an appointment within 3 months, went in for a consult for a skin care procedure. I couldn't decide what to do, so was advised not to worry, I could decide within 3 more months. So I called back to get an appointment, within their time frame. This time I was advised that wasnt true and it was too late for me to use the $100. So 3 people in that office lied to me about this. They had a whole new staff when I called back, big turn over, so no way to prove what I was originally told. They would not honor the previous promise made by three of their staff, and was told they wouldn't apply this to skin care anyway... so $100 down the drain. Seems the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing in this place. So do they think I was making this up?? Why would a person do that. I definitely would NOT recommend going to this place!! Lord help whoever might get an actual surgical procedure... who knows what they might be falsely told!! Complete and total waste of time and money. My fault for going to a place that charges for a consultation anyway. Most of the really good doctors don't need to do that, and most don't need to rip off their customers by not standing by staff promises!

She is very knowledgeable and has actually taken the time to know what works with my skin, how much my skin can take little by little and gradually increase the percentage for my chemical peels. Never jumped to something intense with out taking the necessary steps prior. I believe thats what a real aesthetician is all about, truly knowing their patients skin and analyzing. The worst doctors office visit experience ever. I really wonder about the good reviews here. Because I hope to never go to an office like this again. Traveled 320 miles to go to this specialist. (no specialist in my little town). I tolled them ahead of time I had insurance and It would pay(most/some). Waited over an hour, saw the doc. Tolled me what he could do. I got hustled off to a room for another hour. The scheduler came in with prices. I said my ins. would pay, because I don't have that kind of $. Was tolled if I wanted to use my insurance, I would have to go back home (320 miles), find a referring doctor, start at square one, get a new office visit, and a complete new exam at their office. Then the scheduler tolled me what an really super deal I was getting by paying full price out of my pocket. I felt like I was at a used car lot. I was then taken to the front office and tolled to wait. I waited another 1/2+ hours and after being there 3 hours (total visit) I just walked out. I had no intentions of going back, EVER, but I got a letter 5 days latter from them saying they could not help me. JUST UNREAL!

Best Medical Spa around...and I've been on the hunt in Southern Colorado for over 4 years. They offer a wide range of services (I'd tell you what those are but I like to retain a bit of mystery!) :) and the staff is super helpful, friendly, and well trained. The location is perfect, right off Garden of the Gods road, which is nice for me since I travel 1 hour to get there. I've been going for a few months now as I signed up for the VIP service and my skin has never looked better. My aesthetician is Maria, and she has really taken the time to learn about my specific skin needs and given me glowing skin.

I have had Graves Disease for 30 years; I finally was at a point of extreme vision issues that were not correctable with glasses any longer and my eyes would not close when I slept having extreme profusion from their sockets and facing possible vision loss. Dr. John Burroughs was referred to me in February 2017 for this type of issue; my first visit with him in March 2017 was very informative as to what would be entailed for a decompression surgery on both eyes. I was so impressed with his knowledge and compassion that I followed all his orders and surgery was set for one eye at a time the first being in mid July and the second to follow in mid August of 2017. My recovery with this type of surgery was nothing short of a miracle due to his knowledge, skills and pure caring heart. I have regained vision with correction, no more protruding eyes and they close at night! I would also like to express that his staff is professional, courteous and caring as well; it has been a life changing experience for me. I have no visible scaring and am no longer hiding my eyes behind sunglasses all waking hours of the day. I haven’t had eyes that look normal for over 30 years and now they look like everyone else’s!! I had a buried cyst removed by Dr. Burroughs, which was located between the eye and the bridge of the nose. At 65, I have had at least half a dozen surgeries done over the years for various reasons, and this was the first time that I had absolutely no post-op pain around the wound, which has healed beautifully. This was also the first time that the surgeon removed my stitches, which was done so quickly and unobtrusively that I never felt their removal. This contrasts with some of my previous surgeries where a nurse had inexpertly and painfully removed my stitches. I had a botched surgery once in my past, which has only increased my appreciation for the excellence of Dr. Burroughs' surgery. I recommend Dr. Burroughs without any reservations.

Dr. Burroughs repaired an area next to my eye after I had skin cancer removed. It was a big hole but he was able to cover it without taking a graft from another place. That was a huge relief. Due to unusual circumstances, I lost my right eye. The eyeball was shriveled to about the size of a pea and I had been told by several doctors there was nothing I could do. I was referred to Dr. Burroughs who immediately found a solution. He literally built a new eyeball and then referred me to Mitchel Mayo who built a lens to fit it and both were done so skillfully that no one can tell it is not a real eye. Dr. Burroughs is a top-of-the- line surgeon and he and his whole staff are very compassionate and caring.

This is Pat Shaw (this posting is under my husband's name). I have been having problems for almost my whole 63 years. I was always tired and could not keep my eyes open. I was diagnosed as having idiopathic hypersomnia (no cause, no cure). I have had CAT scans, MRI, nasal surgery, eye surgery (for droopy eyes), acupuncture, therapy, heavy duty medication, massage therapy, etc. I gave up driving, reading, watching television. I had to watch everywhere that I walked so I wouldn't bump into anything. My sister was researching as to why I could not keep my eyes open and we found something called blepharospasm. This is a problem with the muscles of the eyelid. I went to Dr. Burroughs and he suggested that I get botox in my eyes. After 3 days I started to feel the effects of the injections. I have never felt better in my life!!! I can drive, read and do everything that a normal person does. Dr. Burroughs has saved my life!!!!!
