My wife's wound looked pretty hopeless until we were referred to Dr Jacobsen. This Doctor is amazing. Its a long process, its promising to be a complete healing. I don't know where we would be without this Doctor. His staff is very friendly and easy to work with.

he might be a nice dr but he is a snob!!! I had very painful surgery and did not get any pain rx's mainly because of his girl receptionist or at least it sounded like a girl. Since then it turned out worse than before. Lawsuits in the works. for the pain alone I can NEVER forgive him especially since it says o on his web site.

Took my daughter (21 yrs) here for a consult to have a reduction. He didn't do any medical history or background in the appointment. He didn't ask any relevant questions, nor did he "investigate" the situation with her to see if it was anything he might even advise against. His main statement was, "if you want it, I'll do it. You just have to pay for it. I don't care really, just tell me what you want, and I'll make sure you get it." I was asked to come along to make sure that all the questions were asked and answered. When I brought up questions that she wanted answers to, he acted as if I was bothering him and had no rights to the conversation, even though my daughter asked me to come. His answers were half answered and acted as if we were bothering him by being there and our concerns were frivolous or invalid. During the consult it came out that we were working towards a medically covered procedure. At which point, Dr J became somewhat dismissive. Weeks later she receive a call that the insurance denied the first submission. This is not an uncommon practice. After which, we called the insurance to discuss why this happened and they said that they didn't have any real valid reason and that they were sure with a peer-to-peer with the doctor, it would most likely be accepted. My daughter then spent the next week (or so) trying to get in touch with someone from his office, to no avail. I then reached out and left a message stating that we requested a conversation with someone to discuss what we learned. Later that day Dr J called back and spent the better part of a 15 minute conversation speaking over us and dismissing every part of our concerns. He was belittling and curt. He kept speaking as if we did not do our homework and acting as if we had no clue to what we were saying. Finally given the opportunity to speak, we told him that we have all the required paperwork and that all we need is help with a peer-to-peer. At this point, he became all but aggressive in his demeanor and even more abrasive. To which, I deliberately asked, "are you saying that you won't assist us with this?" He never clearly answered and fumbled with more dismissive and rude behavior. It was then, that we just stated that we were going to go somewhere else. Without so much as a "bye" he disconnected the call. I suppose if you can shell out the thousands of dollars that he charges, he is fine. But when a medically necessary procedure is requested and he has to be bothered with helping, he may not be your guy. We have now found someone who provided a polar opposite experience. If you are looking for someone who cares and advocates for his patients, I'm not sure this is your guy.

I had skin cancer removed from my forehead for the first time and my dermatologist's office scheduled an appointment with Dr. Jacobsen on my behalf. Not only was the staff accommodating but they actually got another patient to reschedule so that they could fit me in to close up the (rather large!) wound. I still had no idea what was going on, what everything was going to look like, how much it was going to cost, etc and I was under a considerable amount of stress. Every staff member I interacted with put me more and more at ease; they're more worried about you as a person than they are about you as a payment. Dr. Jacobsen is very kind and so concerned about the wellbeing and comfort of his patients. I was in very good hands. I am now going through round two and I am back in his hands -- and couldn't feel more secure. The pictures shared are from my first procedure -- about 2 weeks apart. The scar has disappeared even more and is nearly unnoticeable even without a light layer of makeup (as in the after photo)

Dr Jacobsen and his staff are absolutely WONDERFUL! We took our 14 year old daughter there to have a cyst removed above her lip. From the moment we walked in to his office his staff made us feel welcome. Dr Jacobsen is so warm and extremely kind. He made not only my 14 year old daughter feel comfortable he also was lovely with my 9 year old daughter that had to come with us to the appointment. He was extremely knowledgable about the cyst and how to remove it. Especially since it was on her face. From the exam to the actual surgery (in which he made my daughter feel extremely comfortable and safe) to the after care he was awesome! Not to mention his office is lovely and filled with a lifetime of beautiful books. We looked forward to visiting his office just so we could sit and flip through his amazing collection of fashion, makeup, and Hollywood type books. Look no further. Dr Jacobsen is absolutely amazing! I honestly cannot say enough about the entire experience. From the girls at the front to Dr. J, nothing was short of first class excellence met with an one of a kind feeling of being amongst people who really care. Whether its the little things of being offered water for every visit or Dr. J himself, you just get an incredible unrivaled experience here. Dr. J is extremely nice and genuine to say the least, and his work shows! I had a nasty raised scar from a dog bite and was really nervous to have that taken out, but the whole experience was virtually painless and smooth. Not to mention what Dr. J did was just flat out impressive. I can barely even tell there was anything there to begin with..so so thankful.

Because I had a cancer removed from my face several years ago, I elected to have a local dermatologist perform a complete facial "phenol" peel (it's really carbolic acid - like having your face painted with automotive parts dip!) The peel removed several layers of damaged skin, including those layers that he said grow basal and squamous cell cancers, and the outcome was very successful. However, I requested that he consider getting a biopsy of suspicious tissue on the end of my nose. He carved a "divot," that healed like a small crater. I did not return to him, but accepted a referral to Dr. Jacobsen, who described how he would effect a repair. I was willing and excited to have it done. He would have performed the procedure, on my initial visit, but I wanted I wanted to ensure that it was covered by insurance. When his staff called and told me it was, we made an appointment, at his next availability. Everyone speaks of his caring and concerned attitude, and I can vouch for that. He spoke as if I was an intelligent person capable of understanding at his level of delivery. I have medical training/credentials, but I doubt it would have made any difference in the way he spoke and communicated. His demeanor and attitude were consistent and particularly gratifying, after I had been told by one of the dermatologists at the first office, "You have too much knowledge!" Dr. J and his staff planned with me to dovetail my procedure between a number of classes and trips in my calendar; it was done quickly, efficiently, more comfortably than I had anticipated, and I was outta there! Unfortunately, I was allergic to the antibacterial soap that I was advised to use on the incision area during the healing period; my nose turned red, and I sent Dr. J a picture. He finished a procedure at the hospital and called me, personally, to assure me that it was not infected, as I had feared. I intend to return, though, as one side didn't "pull together," quite right, and I am totally confident that he will advise me whether to have another corrective procedure or live with a little "mark of distinction" that is far less obvious and disfiguring than the crater left by the original biopsy. I live 100 miles from Dr. Jacobsen's office, but I felt that each of the three trips was eminently worth the drive and the typically-long wait in his office. The personal and personable attention and skill with which one is cared for are worth the wait. I am pleased to corroborate the many 5-Star reviews given to Dr. J. He has my vote of confidence. .

*****Update***** Response to the Dr’s comment that came a year and nine months too late: You very obviously missed the point. I was there 40 mins before the other patient and you saw them first. Patronizing me by saying “Sorry you had to wait,” doesn’t help your cause, because that is NOT what the complaint was about. That apology, if it WAS sincere, would have happened at the appointment. To potential clients: In regards to his response about diversity...just look at all of the reviews and who they come from and make your own assessment of this claim. Also, please note the reviews by his family members to help boost his rating. ***Original Post***If you're Caucasian, THIS is the place for you! There's no place for minorities here. I was waiting for 40 minutes before I was taken back, which I didn't fuss about. However, while sitting in my room, I heard him go into the room of the (Caucasian) patients who arrived 40 minutes AFTER I did. Once I verified that it in fact was the patients that arrived way after I did, I proceeded to put my clothes back on. The doctor walked in just as I was putting my shoes on and I told him I was leaving to which he responded "ok" I told him it was ridiculous that a patient who had walked in 40 minutes after I did was seen before me and he just turned around and walked away. Obviously he doesn't need the business. Also, don't count on having any kind of privacy in his office, I heard what the other patient was in for. I'm sure the teenage boy who was wanting cosmetic surgery for something he's already self conscious about wouldn't appreciate the fact that I could here their entire conversation. I should have heeded the warnings of the bad reviews but thought I'd give him a try...BIG MISTAKE. There are plenty of surgeons who can do his job. I will take my business to someone who actually cares about their patients.

Completely dismissive, the office was unresponsive in my multiple attempts to contact them back with the necessary information, and when they finally contacted me back Dr. Jacobsen was incredibly rude and told me my concerns surrounding the procedure I was about to have done were a waste of his time. Dr. Jacobsen and his entire staff are absolutely the best EVER! The only complaint is you have to leave a message when you call, but someone does return the call that day. So that isn't really a complaint, just a small inconvenience. They make up for it in every other way possible. The staff is very professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. Dr. Jacobsen is truly a "MIRACLE WORKER". I have never seen such skill in a surgeon. He is the best and cured a "botched" surgery from a skin cancer that another plasticsurgeon did. After being diagnosed with stage 3A breast cancer in the summer of 2013, I underwent a double mastectomy. The surgeon I had, was not a good Doctor, and after 12 surgeries in 1 year, many of which could have been prevented with proper patient care, I went to a new hospital in pretty bad shape and a lot of pain. Banner Thunderbird called in Dr. J, and I am so grateful to him. I did not begin to heal, until Dr. J. took over my case. All of the sudden, my stitches stayed in tact, my pain dropped to a manageable level, and I have NEVER HAD EVEN 1 INFECTION!! The staff is amazing and caring and always made me feel like I mattered, and I will be forever grateful for day Dr. J. walked into my ER room, and took over, giving me hope, where I had none. He is my angel, and I would recommend him to anyone needing a Plastic Surgeon. I suffer from extreme anxiety and panic attacks, which worsened considerably with the diagnoses, and Dr. J never made me feel stupid, but treated me like a member of his family, always concerned, listening, quick to respond to my emails, and never made me feel like I was a "problem patient" even though I am sure, I was not the easiest with all my previous nightmare experiences with the prior medical team I had, had. UNBELIEVABLE!! I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT Dr. Jacobsen. My mother had a catastrophic event happen late last year and the prognosis was devastating. We were lucky enough to have Dr. J be her reconstructive surgeon. During her 3 month stint in the hospital, he was by far the best medical professional that we came across. Dr. Jacobsen and his staff were amazing. I found out I had cancer and had to have surgery to remove it on a Thursday, and my primary care dr sent me to another dr in Phoenix (3hours away) that next morning. From there the surgeon sent me straight over to Dr. Jacobsen's office for him to close the wound because there was a large chunk taken from my ear. 2 weeks later and you can't even tell there was ever anything done! He is very sympathetic of pain you may feel, and is very polite and courteous. His staff is very pleasant and beyond helpful. I've had four visits with Dr. Jacobsen over the past 2.5 years, the first after the removal of 1/3 of my bottom lip from skin cancer, and the last for a biopsy of possible skin cancer on my nose. Each time, he has treated me with kindness and respect, and also had a level of confidence that made me feel relaxed with whatever he thought best for the particular problem. Thus far, the results have proven him correct. He has quickly become my go-to for any problem or condition that may create a cosmetic "issue". His office and staff make you feel welcomed and comfortable, and he promptly and generously responds to questions or concerns by email. One visit and you'll find these things out yourself.

I met Dr Jacobsen in Banner T-Bird after several Drs there told me "Nobody is going to touch my inflamed/infected implant just have it out and leave it out". Not something you tell a breast cancer patient. I fired those Drs that told me that. The new Dr came in and listened to me thats when i finally got Dr Jacobsen. After a few minutes my game plan was set. Dr Jacobsen had to clean up the other guys mess that was left inside me. He did so and placed a new implant. I can't even tell you how elated I was with the results. If you feel like you had a botched surgery you need to see Dr Jacobsen.

I was referred to Dr Jacobsen by a friend and medical practitioner for a second opinion on options to treat a skin lesion. I initially saw Dr. Jacobsen soon after initial biopsy from my dermatologist. Dr. Jacobsen evaluated the area and recommended surgical excision. We scheduled the procedure for a month later. Insurance was verified and my portion was prepaid. When I arrived for the excision everything was set and ready for surgery. Dr Jacobsen re-examined the area and told me "We're not doing this procedure today. I think its improving. Your dermatologist may have taken care of this with his biopsy. We should give it more time". I thought that took great integrity. He could have easily proceeded as I was prepared. He could have simply proceeded and been paid. He explained to me what to look for moving forward and if worsened or returned to its original form to call him and re-evaluate. He put my welfare before his chance to have a nice pay. I respect him for that . Sometimes doing nothing is the best medicine. He went way up on my scale for trust to do the right thing.

I had a melanoma taken off my cheek and one taken off my neck, both the same size. A Physicians asst stitched the one on my neck and 4 months later there was absolutely no sign of the stitches. Dr Jacobsen (a plastic surgeon) stitched the one on my check and 9 months later there is still a very pronounced scar. Very disappointed with his work.

I’m so happy with his hand I work. I had almost NO bruising at all and they gave the the perfect amount of pain medicine to get me though and still functioning. I gave him a 5 star rating because of his skills and professionalism. How ever if you don’t come stacked with your own questions and concerns he can’t do anything for you. He’s a surgeon who knows all this stuff but not exactly the fountain of information. He will litterly only tell you and give you what you ask for. Don’t make him guess or try to let him lead the conversation when it comes to concerns and post up care. Make a list of questions and stick with it. He will answer them all perfectly. It’d help to do your research and bring your own pictures with a ‘cc’ in mind. HE WILL GIVE YOU WHATEVER YOU ASK FOR!❤️

I couldn't be happier with my procedure. Dr. J has the most kind and relaxing manner and he is the ultimate professional. I had a fatty tumor on my forehead that he removed, as well as breast reconstruction. The breast reconstruction was overdue as I had breast cancer with multiple lumpectomies, biopsies and radiation. It left the tissue hard and my old implant like a rock. He was able to correct all of the problems and I'm much happier with my appearance. Although you may find it odd at first that you can't get anyone by phone their response time is amazing. I emailed the office on a Sunday afternoon that I had a problem and within ten minutes (no exaggeration) I had a text back that a prescription had been called in to my pharmacy. While Dr. J is a very good surgeon, it became very clear how he can afford such an elaborate office. I was sent to Dr. J for a skin closure after a skin cancer removal and was very impressed with how beautiful his office was and how kind the staff was. Dr. J was very polite and quick with the closure. I had a very good experience with Dr. J but once I received my bill I was very unimpressed. I was charged an astronomical amount for a 15 min closure. When I talked to my insurance company about this I came to find that his office was using improper codes to receive more money from the insurance company and myself, the patient. The amount that was being charged would be the same as if I was having him do a breast augmentation done on me. I like Dr. J, but billing insurance improper to receive a better financial gain is disgraceful. There are too many great plastic surgeons out there to tolerate this!

I have been referred to Dr. Jacobsen twice and have been very satisfied with the results. I received treatment in both cases that was technically proficient and very efficient but that was also personal and caring. In the second case Dr. Jacobsen also went out of his way to accommodate a cruise that my wife and I had booked over a year before. In 2013 I had an abscess on my back that despite treatment and packing at the Boswell Wound Clinic was growing in size (approaching golf ball size) and nearing my spine. Dr. Jacobsen in one office visit cleaned and sutured the wound and it has been as good as new since. In 2014 a tumor was discovered on my right kidney and the kidney and the tumor were removed. Afterward the incision became infected, opening a large wound. 7 months of treatment at the Boswell Wound Clinic saw it healed to a 6 inch long, 1 inch deep trench. Boswell estimated a half year to a year for the wound to fill in. I asked if it could be sewn up and was again referred to Dr. Jacobsen. At the evaluation meeting, Dr. Jacobsen said, "You shouldn't have to live with that. I can admit you to the hospital and sew it up this afternoon." I accepted. A month later, when the stitches were due to come out, the wound was swollen. Dr. Jacobsen said that fluid was gathering in the wound. He used a needle and syringe to draw out about 150cc of fluid. He said he would repeat the treatment to see if my body would respond and absorb the fluid. I asked if this meant that my wife and I had to cancel a cruise that we had booked over a year before and were leaving on in 12 days. Dr. Jacobsen said that he would get us on the cruise. He drew fluid three times during the next week. Finally, the day before I needed to leave he opened about 3 inches of the wound, cleaned it out and resewed it with a drain attached. He brought me in after the last patient that day and stayed well past closing time to take care of my wound so that I could go on the cruise. I went on the cruise with a drain and on heavy antibiotics, but I didn't have to cancel. After the cruise the drain was removed and, a month ago, the stitches were removed. The scar is fading nicely. I received proficient, efficient, friendly, and personal service from Dr. Jacobsen. I unreservedly recommend him and would use his services myself if I am unfortunate enough to again need them.

I was there to have a hole on the side of my neck sutured from skin cancer which was removed earlier in the day by my dermatologist. I would have to say that so far my experience with Dr. J is quit impressive. I do not particularly like going to doctors. As it seems often times the treatment ends up being worse than the original illness to begin with. So I was referred to Dr. J due to surgical incision from two years ago from having a spinal cord stimulator put in my back. Where the battery is placed in my left hip, the incision has never close. I do have to say that the waiting area is very inviting. I would have to say that the staff are very friendly, and they go above and beyond with helping answer any questions. My initial meeting with Dr. J was great, as he understood how nervous I was to be there. He listened to me, when I expressed certain concerns. He did reassure me that although I do have to have surgery, he explained to me exactly what he was going to do, without adding a bunch of scientific names that I would not understand. He assured me that he would take great care in helping with the infection and take the necessary steps to ease any discomfort that I might have. Dr Kwatra refers the Plasitc Surgery for closure after the removal of the cancer cells, to Dr. William M. Jacobsen, MD.
