Our story may be a little different from others but it's an important story in knowing why to choose Dr. Michael Beckenstein. There was a little girl across the ocean that had been badly burned as a toddler. As she grew, so did the scars. Our prayer was to find a doctor that would be willing to help us help her. My husband called Dr. Beckenstein and began to tell him of this child in need on the other side of the world and before my husband could finish the story, Dr. B said, "I'll do it...no problem." Dr. Beckenstein committed to help our family give this child something that I thought may be impossible. He has gone beyond just being her surgeon... He has shown us kindness beyond anything I could have imagined. There is no one that I would trust more. We have had approximately 14 surgeries and we have gone weekly into his office for the past 5 years. After each surgery, the scars are being erased and I'm humbled by the gift (his surgical ability) that God has given this man. And then, there's his team...oh my his team...they are just like him. Committed, professional and the kindest people I have ever met. They are a reflection of him. I cannot imagine going through this without Dr. Beckenstein and his entire team. They have been an answered prayer for me and my family and have given our daughter something she never believed could happen. We are forever grateful to Dr. Beckenstein. 5 stars is not enough for this review. :)

When you first hear the word "Breast Cancer" you start to panic and then go into shock! You are scared about all the procedures that you must endure to be whole once again. When I decided to have a double mastectomy I knew I wanted the best plastic surgeon in Birmingham. I prayed that the Lord would send me to a doctor that would not only be the best surgeon but also compassionate. I found this in Dr. Beckenstein!! From the moment I walked in the office with my husband and I knew this was where I needed to be. The waiting room was soothing and calm to all that entered.Everyone that I came in contact with was always so helpful and friendly. After my consultation with Dr. Beckenstein I felt not only encouraged but knew if I had any concerns or problems he would be always be there for me! As I am now finishing up the reconstruction process I feel that I could have not been more pleased with the outcome.It is wonderful to feel whole once again!! Dr. Beckenstein has made this possible. He is an amazing and compassionate doctor that goes over and beyond what is expected. I highly recommend him to anyone that is anticipating breast reconstruction or any other related procedures.

Dr. Beckenstein is an amazing surgeon. He cares immensely about his patients, their comfort, and their results. I just went in for a PRP treatment, which was nearly painless. Before that, he made sure I had a hair analysis done so we could monitor progress properly. I would never choose another surgeon to do this job again, and I thank him and his staff for their wonderful support.

Fantastic!!! I planned my reduction for two years and finally on Jan. 24, 2019 it happened. Best experience ever!! From start to finish Dr. B the staff and everyone involved were perfect! I was so scared when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in June of this year.Dr. Beckenstein and his staff have been so kind and caring and have been available both day and night. When you are dealing with an illness of this magnitude both physically and mentally this has meant more than I can adeguately express in this short review. I am now way down the road to recovery and my husband and I could not be more pleased with the results. I feel and even look better than I have in many years. Dr. Beckenstein is a fantastic surgeon and he has surrounded himself, as well, with a caring and knowlegeable staff. When he tells you he will answer your emails by the next morning,he means it! And when you call his office, you talk to a person and not a machine and that is very reassuring.His skill as a surgeon and his compassion as a person has made all the difference in my recovery. Thanks you guys,you are the best!

Dr. Beckenstein and his entire staff are miracle workers! 2 1/2 weeks before a scheduled abdominal hysterectomy, the thought came to me: why am I not having an abdominoplasty at the same time? I filled out the consult request form, and Dr. Beckenstein replied within hours... he told me later he was at the Iron Bowl when he got my request! Monday, his staff fit me in when it was discovered that Dr. Beckenstein was available and my pre-scheduled surgical time also worked for him! His staff went above and beyond to help manage this financially for me as well. I’m now 12 days post surgery, and I can not believe the changes in my body. I feel better every day and am so grateful to Dr. Beckenstein and his wonderful team for making my Christmas miracle happen!

Also, I use other services such as botox, juvederm and restalyn. I couldn't be more pleased with all of the services I have used. I received a consultation for a breast reduction. I was told that I was a very good candidate for a breast reduction. I gave them all of my information to submit to my insurance to later find out my information was never submitted. I later call back to see if it was submitted and I was given the run around to later receive a phone call to say that they knew what they were doing and they submit claims all the time. Here it is 8 months later and I still haven't received a phone call only a bill in the mail.

I was diagnosed with cancer in one breast but elected to have a double mastectomy. Dr. B is a perfectionist and believe me when I say that is a good thing. He was able to save my nipples and honestly if you did not know that I had the surgery done, you would not be able to tell by looking. The scaring is very minimal. I did not want to go "big" and Dr. B and his staff were very mindful of my wishes even though they tried to talk me into DD's. I could not have asked for a nicer, more attentive doctor and staff.

From Huntsville, Al & Dr. Beckenstein performed a bilateral breast reduction. I chose this doctor because he was 1. Board certified 2. His reviews were phenomenal (so I had to at least give him a shot right). During my consultation he already knew what issues that came with my size & he was respectful about it. Dr. Beckenstein’s staff is patient, knowledgeable & efficient. I saw from other surgeons in the area that staff wasn’t as respectful & the wait time was long. Definitely not the case here. Every last person @ this office plays an important role in making everything run smoothly & I couldn’t have asked for more. I made the best choice. If you are looking @ this review & haven’t scheduled your consultation I advise you to do so immediately, like now, as soon as they open @ 8:30. Also my girls look like a work of art!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. I requested for a consultation before doing my research and going through Dr. Beckenstien’s before and after pictures once I realized that I did not want to use him anymore because of what I seen on the before and after photos I called to cancel my consultation and get my $150 deposit refunded. The lady told me it would take a week to process it and a week to get my check. No big deal, well a month goes by and no check I call again to see what’s going on and they tell me they just sent the check that week! A month to send a check?? Whatever they tell me I’ll get it any day now another 2 1/2 weeks go by and no check again. I call a THIRD time to see what the hell is going on and they tell me they just send the check 2 days ago. A month and a half has gone by and they just refunded my money? And why did they lie to me 2 1/2 weeks ago when I called and said they had already sent it?! Anyways, I will probably not be getting my money back but at least I didn’t let them botch my body up. Do not waste your money on a consultation because the minute you feel uncomfortable you will not be getting that money back.

I have nothing but wonderful and positive things to say about my experience with Dr. Beckenstein and his awesome team!! Whenever I have had to call in with questions the receptionist is always very cordial and connects me with the right person and information. Dr. Beckenstein and his team values your time; my appointments have been very prompt and efficient and I know that when I schedule my appointments I am not wasting valuable time sitting in the waiting room well beyond my appointment time. My husband has also taken notice of this and has been very impressed. For starters, aside from the wonderful efficiency at each appointment, the initial consult was extremely impressive!! Dr. Beckenstein uses modern technology to help in determining the potential outcome of a breath augmentation. After having two kids, and pumping for a year with both I was not happy with the way my breast looked. I wanted them to be filled out again and not rely on bras to give me the look that I wanted. I did not want an obviously augmented look and Dr. Beckenstein listened to my concerns and he delivered beautiful results!! I am one month and three days post surgery and I couldn't be happier with my results!! Also, the follow up and post op appointments have been great as well!! I highly recommend Dr. Beckenstein to anyone who desires a breast augmentation!

Scheduling appointments, pre-surgical markings, surgery and post op care has been extremely easy and efficient. I have and will continue to recommend Dr. Beckenstein to my friends looking for a surgeon to perform cosmetic procedures. Dr. Beckenstein's approach is one that I like in that the cosmetic procedures chosen have led people to ask if I've lost weight, worked out more, gotten a hair cut, etc. It's been obvious that something has physically changed but not so obvious that they can pinpoint the procedures performed. This is important to me as I wanted a discrete change, I did not want broadcast to everyone what I was having done! My friends have chosen Dr. Beckenstein to perform their cosmetic procedures and have been as pleased as I have. We all rave about the care we received, the support and honesty that the staff offers as well as the quick access to Dr. Beckenstein and his staff-- calls and questions are answered or returned quickly. Dr. Beckenstein has a great bedside manner and the post op follow up calls to check on his patient(s) are much appreciated!

I got surgery last year February breast reduction. I regret going here because I never got to tell him actually what I wanted he cut my ready the size he wanted to now they are really small and he also cut me too far up under my breast to where it shows and now I’m insecure about certain shirts to wear I should have never went here I don’t feel like I got the proper care did not really feel like Dr Beckenstein had time he will speak with you for a quit second and leave my breast look horrible.

Dr Beckenstein preformed a tummy tuck and left breast fat transfer on me and I have never felt better in my life. I look good and have confidence again that I haven't had since I was in my teens and early 20's. He and his staff were so kind and caring. They answered all my questions helped me to feel comfortable about everything that was going to take place. I never had to worry about anything. They even provided me with post surgery scar care instructions and medicine. They were with me to entire journey. I just went for my 2 month check up and everything is looking great better than I even imagined. I must share my experience with all. Nine years ago I had breast cancer and Dr. Beckenstein was the doctor that took care of my breast reconstruction with implants. Now, to the present day. Three months ago I was again diagnosed with recurrent breast cancer. I have been seen by numerous doctors from The Woman's Imaging in Denver Colorado, Slaon Kettering in New York and Johns Hopkins in Washington DC. Every single doctor and nurse that has seen my breasts are shocked and in total surprise to see how beautiful they look and always comment on the quality of work. Every doctor has asked me who my plastic surgeon was and I am so proud to utter the name Dr. Beckenstein. I was very happy after my surgery nine years ago but to have others comment and see the expression on their faces nine years later just makes me so happy. Now I am quite sad the a surgeon in DC will be ruining the works of Dr Beckenstein. I wish doctor Beckenstein could be my doctor once again but asking him to fly to D.C. Is asking a little much.
