Salient in my experience at First Physical Therapy was the comprehensive, careful, and precise evaluation of my diagnosis followed by a similarly targeted treatment of the condition. At my doctor's office a tentative diagnosis was made followed by the PT referral. But it was the clinician at First Physical Therapy that helped me to feel reassured that the problem was truly understood through a thorough and detailed analysis and confirmation of the condition. I found the explanation of the problem very helpful and the detailed plan of treatment was, in short, successful. In my view that recommends a 5-Star rating.

This place is Fantastic especially Jan and her aquatic Therapy team they are kind and caring and give special attention to each of their clients and they make sure they are comfortable and not pushing themselves to hard. They make the sessions fun and they always make everyone laugh its great. When I injured my back as a teen I did 10 years of Physical Therapy and I never did aquatic therapy it was never a choice back then and they actually did more damage then good, I guess that's why im still doing it 10 years later lol. I started PT again because i ended up having a sciatica on my right side so bad that my leg from knee cap down to my toes went numb constantly! The pain is crazy it goes from my buttocks to the back of my knee, so my PCP recommended and prescribe PT So when I went to FPT Mrs Jan Thought that the water therapy would help tremendously because It would be way less weight on my leg and I can still do the stretches. The Therapy has helped so far I've had 3 sessions and i'm still in pain but when I get out of the pool I can tell its helped I can't wait to continue my sessions. So If there are any Westerly, RI people that need PT Please take First Physical Therapy into consideration they are fabulous, I hope my experience influences you to give FPT a try.!!

I walked in for first appt. there and was greeted with a heater blower at the door in waiting area. I then was handed paperwork to fill out and as I began to fill it out I was sweating and asked if they could turn off the heater I was ignored. I then decided to sit in my vehicle to do paperwork when I was very rudely approached by an assistant and told they don't have all day and lets go when I mentioned the heat problem she was so rude that I decided I will take my bussiness elsewhere. Unless you enjoy working out in a sauna I do not suggest going here...the nasty people skills they displayed does not work for them either.

First Physical Therapy hits the treatment "sweet spot" while combining an attentative and hospitable reception with a professional and profoundly knowledgeable practice. I was referred to First PT with a vague exercise induced injury. Following my initial assessment, I was provided with a home, strength based exercise plan that would later provide me with the balance and stability that I needed to run comfortably again. Regular visits also allowed me to progress evenly and check in with my Physical Therapist about any questions or concerns that I had with the injury or its treatment. Highly recommended!

I couldn't walk. Janice examined my injury, worked the source and strengthened the surrounding ligaments support and managed the pain of my injury. They implemented a treatment plan and schedule. Over the next week,using a variety of methods and excercises (to do myself at home as well as at First Physical) my injury was healing and getting stronger each day. I am back to normal now! I now have a greater understanding of treatment, if my injury occurs again. I now recommend my family and friends to First Physical Therapy.
