Mayron Yip-Ng, at Oregon Physical Therapy at Timberhill, is an excellent physical therapist. I highly recommend her. She doesn’t just treat symptoms; she determines and addresses the underlying cause of the problem in order to provide lasting, long-term results. I saw two other physical therapists before Mayron. Neither came close to providing the compassionate, extremely thorough, and effective care I received from Mayron.
Mayron treated me three different times. The first was for a knee that would buckle unexpectedly. A previous physical therapist gave me a set of exercises that fixed the problem for a while. When it returned, I asked Mayron for help. By carefully watching me walk and examining my body, she determined one hip was slightly higher than the other. A slight elevation in one shoe, together with exercises to re-train my knee AND walking gait, solved the problem and it has not returned.
My second and third set of treatments with Mayron dealt with a torn rotator cuff in my shoulder – before and after surgery. In both cases, Mayron didn’t just work on strengthening my shoulder muscles. Again, she carefully watched how I moved, and identified I wasn’t using the right muscles in the right sequence, resulting in neck strain, lack of full mobility, and added pain. She provided a progressive set of exercises that helped me re-train my shoulder to operate properly, allowing me to both re-gain full use of my shoulder and minimize the potential for future injury.
Mayron has an in-depth knowledge of physical therapy and extensive experience. Just as importantly, she cares about her patients and her patient’s successful recovery.
