Dr Ellis is professional, extremely knowledgeable about the VA healthcare system and disability claims process. He’s also a caring and empathetic doctor who genuinely loves Veterans and wants the best for them. He helped me Increase my rating significantly! He also went the extra mile to write the VA doctors a letter advocating for my care. Highly recommended! Worth the commute.

I flew in from Southern California on a grueling overnight trip to see Dr. Ellis. All commentators are correct. Doc Ellis is one hell of a guy. Excellent physician with superb knowledge of all aspects of OWCP, particularly how it manipulates the system against persons with legitimate claims and plays on their ignorance . Dr. Ellis was quite impressed with my knowledge of the system and commented to that effect. Upon getting down to business, Doc Ellis brought up some medical issues I have that would qualify me for additional schedule awards. Doc Ellis spent a good three hours with me and demonstrated a sophistication about medical aspects of OWCP that is second to none. For anyone serious about getting a claim approved by OWCP or a schedule award, Doctor Ellis is the only way to go. Don't bother looking for another physician for a report. It will only bring you grief. On a final note, there is a Hampton Hotel only a few minutes from Dr. Ellis' practice.

Fantastic doctor and staff...no excuses--just help. Dr. Ellis helped me to get my additional claim accepted and provided support for the claim. Well worth it and refreshing in a world of doctors who say no to workman's comp.

TLDR: Go Elsewhere - Doctor is Crazy Served OIF 2/3 & OEF as an infantryman Found Doctor through -> HADIT 1. First attempted to set up an appointment in late 2018 and office did not return my phone calls. 2. Got a hold of the clinic in early 2019 and my attorney sent the clinic my paperwork and was told that the clinic would contact me. I was told that we would schedule a telephone evaluation by the clinic staff. The clinic also told my attorney this. 3. 2 weeks go by and nobody calls me. I call the clinic and they stated that they will call me back. 4. I call the clinic the first week of March and they schedule my appointment for the next week. Then, I am told that I have to be there in person. Irritated, I book a flight to OKC. 5. I receive a phone call from the clinic 5 days before asking me IF I WILL BE MEETING BY PHONE. I asked them to clarify if I need to be there and they said - yes come in. 6. 2 days before my appointment I receive a phone call from the clinic asking me again if I will be taking the appointment by telephone. I ask them what the heck is going on and to speak with Mr. Ellis. Mr Ellis starts to scream and swear at me on the telephone (good grief). Mr. Ellis continues to yell at me as I maintained a professional conversation. I maintain my calm and try to rationally explain to him the problem and then starts swearing and lecturing me about how he charges less than other doctors (I can see why). He might be a mediocre doctor (at best) and he clearly cannot manage his clinic. He and his staff are unprofessional. It's clear that his entire business model is pump as many clients through his office as possible. There is a special place in hell for people like this.

I flew into Oklahoma from Nurnberg, Germany for a VA disability medical exam & opinion which was scheduled in February 2017. I arrived 15min early and was greeted with smiles. I was seen ontime. The staff took vitals and then waited briefly in an exam room to be seen Dr. Ellis. Dr Ellis was extremely knowledgeable as you might expect from a seasoned doctor... whom then educated me on several aspects of my in-service military injuries especially sleep apnea. This exam took about 1:30hrs. Highly recommend any Veteran and Federal employee to be evaluated by this Physician. God Bless!

Do Not use this place for VA exams! As a VA employee I can tell you emphatically his exams mean nothing. He gives you private treatment records. NO DBQs which are required by law. Medical opinions without required medical rationale. Random rambling statements that have nothing to do with the claimed conditions. Stay away it's a waste of money. They do not do VA exams. Period.

Saw Dr. Ellis for an OWCP scheduled award exam. Spent five hours in his office. He told me to "shut up" at least 30 times when I tried to tell him important information relative to my case. He spent four of the five hours preaching from his bible and talking to my Home Health Aid as if I wasn't even there. He spent 15 minutes doing a basic hands on physical exam during which he noted numerous additional injuries that he suggested I file for. He said it was his opinion that I shouldn't work another day in my life, and offered to be my pain management doctor. He also said he would write restrictions for me that would be so limiting that "(you) will be sitting on the couch collecting a paycheck when your supervisors see what I'm gonna write." He asked me what medication I was prescribed in the past that worked and I told him that Percocet works but I develop tolerance to it quickly. He made numerous racist statements including "you'll never qualify for social security because you're not black enough and only blacks and Hispanics get social security because everyone knows they are lazy" and told my Home Health Aid that "(she) is lucky that she is a pretty blonde woman because only pretty blondes have a real future in the medical field." He blabbered on and on about his military career and repeatedly told me that my suffering was Gods plan for me and it has given me compassion so that one day I "will be called upon by God to judge Angels". As I was leaving the clinic he loudly announced to his PA in front of the entire staff and waiting room that "this patient needs to make an appointment with you and he needs Percocets." It was highly embarrassing. I saw his PA for two visits. She informed me that Dr Ellis was not going to write my restrictions (first lie he told me) and put me on a drug called Nucynta (not Percocet as he said they would do). I was fine with this because I informed him that Percocet wasn't ideal anyway because I develop tolerance fast. The second month I asked the PA to increase the dosage of Nucynta, stating that I didn't notice any difference in my pain levels. She increased it from 50mg 3x daily to 75mg 3x daily. The third month I informed the PA that I felt that the medication was around 40 percent effective, and although I'm not a doctor, I think that if the dosage were doubled, I may be in very little pain and it may truly give me back my normal life. She refused to increase the medication. The fourth month I spent two hours in the office and something didn't feel right. Dr. Ellis enters the office and tells me he is firing me as a patient. He refused to explain why other than saying "(you) have too many injuries and should be on Fentanyl. But I cannot prescribe you anything that strong because I need to cover my own ass." He said he would call me later after discussing my situation with his PA and see if he would refer me elsewhere. He told me he would still do scheduled awards and disability retirement paperwork though. He called me at 7pm that day and was extremely disrespectful to me. He told me he would "refill my Nucynta and ween me off of the drug" but would not see for any reason anymore. He then hung up on me in the middle of the conversation. I asked my OWCP primary care provider to refer me elsewhere after telling them the horror story with Dr. Ellis. Two days later I received a letter in the mail from Dr. Ellis FILLED with lies about me. He said in his letter that he didn't think I should be on restrictions OR medication (which completely contradicts what he wrote in scheduled award exam) and flat out lied, saying that he fired me as a patient because I'm a drug addict and demanded Percocet from him (I never asked for Percocet) and said that I voluntarily refused his Nucynta prescription because I demanded Percocet (also a lie) So basically, he used the fact that he is a doctor with more than 30 years in medicine to destroy my reputation and save his own. I know many patients never see this side of him, but you should beware of him. He is extremely unethical and racist/sexist.
