REVIEWS OF Maiden Lane Medical Physical Therapy IN New York

Just wanted to follow-up to say what a great experience I had at Duffy & Bracken Physical Therapy! From my first appointment, the staff was friendly, and, most importantly, extremely knowledgeable. What I thought was just an isolated injury turned out to be a broader problem, and Renuka identified it right away. With her guidance, I went from barely being able to run 2 miles, to completing, with my best time, a half marathon. I highly, highly recommend this practice!

I find the receptionists friendly and discreet, and Michelle the PT is very accessible, professional and thorough. I have highly recommended MLM to others because the physical help, education and emotional support that I have been receiving has been reliable and very valuable for my conditions.

I have been treating here for the last three months under the incredibly capable Mukta Chauhan. Due to her extraordinary knowledge and talent, I rapidly improved and now no longer need further therapy. I highly recommend Ms. Chauhan and Maiden Lane Physical Therapy. They are highly professional and treating there has been an excellent and rewarding experience. I came with a limp, and now walk straight as an arrow. Thank you all, and especially Mutka, so much.

I have been suffering with Vertigo for 3 months. During the 3 months I was going to an ENT for treatment, and nothing helped. I was referred to Duffy & Bracken. I went to 1 session with Nidhi and the vertigo went away. Truly amazing!!!

I had been suffering with progressively debilitating coccyx/tailbone pain for a year and a half before finding my way to Duffy & Bracken Physical Therapy and to Ann Duffy. During that time I had seen two different internal medicine physicians and two orthopedists. The first orthopedist took x-rays, said he saw nothing abnormal. My tailbone was bruised and would heal on its own. It didn’t. After another year of significantly modifying my life by never sitting, and with my family’s urging, I went to a different orthopedist. New x-rays. Same story. In desperation I searched online for physical therapists specializing in coccyx/tailbone pain (coccydynia). That is how I discovered Duffy & Bracken Physical Therapy and Ann Duffy. I was extremely hesitant to commit to treatment that I knew would at times be physically invasive. But my husband strongly encouraged me to start my recovery. Through her years of experience and hands on approach Ann Duffy correctly diagnosed my injury when no one else could. I learned that I had a hypo-mobile tailbone and that that was causing my pain. That lack of movement would never be seen on an x-ray. The course of physical therapy for regaining mobility in my tailbone wasn’t going to be pleasant, but Ann approached every session with incredible knowledge, professionalism, humor and grace. Although I may have felt physical discomfort during our earlier sessions, I never felt uncomfortable with Ann. After just two months of treatment I can finally sit again without pain… and I can not sing the praises of Ann Duffy loudly enough!

Here is a warning: do not go to this establishment under any circumstances. Their staff: from receptionist to practitioner are utterly unprofessional. I was recommended to see one of their new coccyx “Specialists”—Jillian. As usual the therapist was rushed and didn’t listen to me nor take me in. She conducted an internal examination of me without explaining anything and forcefully yanked at my coccyx. During the procedure I experienced intense referring pain to my knee and foot. I reported this but Gillian couldn’t care less. She denied the fact that her internal manipulation had anything to do with her examination: which bordered on an assault. Seven days later: throwing up: intense burning pain inside my anal region and a feeling of absolute violation. I plan to open up a malpractice case. They are a disorganized, unethical organization. Stay far far away!!

Wonderful, thorough therapists and evening hours for the office-dwellers among us. I would recommend them to everyone!

I have been going to Duffy and Bracken for several years dealing with various injuries, mostly running-related. Renuka Pinto is absolutely wonderful and has gotten me through three marathon training seasons. She is insightful, skillful, knowledgeable, and very caring - if you have any kind of sports injury I would absolutely recommend her. Her treatment is always spot on - and I was told by a sports medicine doctor that she was one of the few PTs whom he would unreservedly recommend. I have seen Shante when Renuka was away and can also highly recommend her. I have not worked with Ann personally but I was originally recommended to her by a former PT who moved uptown as the PT he would go to first (Ann sent me to Renuka given the nature of my injury and I am very glad she did - another sign of professionalism). The support staff is also wonderful. I tend to have a difficult and changing schedule and they make every effort to accommodate me. I have never had an issue with billing or insurance, this is always smooth. I have found the assistants knowledgeable and helpful, they also take care to develop a relationship with you.

The lady with a half shaved head at the reception is extremely rude and unprofessional.

I worked with Hsing-I Hsieh, who coached me through strengthening my pelvic floor after the birth of my first child. Had it not been for her guidance and expertise, I would not have recovered in nearly the same way. Thanks to her, I feel stronger and healthier. I believe that all women should have access to PT care postpartum, and that more awareness should be brought to supporting women's physical health post-delivery. I will definitely go back to see Hsing-I Hsieh after future deliveries, and I encourage others to do the same!

Amazing for pelvic floor recovery after birth!

The worst managed place. The rude unprofessional reception. Very disrespectful

Very nice, accommodating staff. I worked with Shante as my therapist and she was great. Extremely knowledgeable and professional and fun at the same time. Highly recommend.

I just completed my physican ordered physical therapy with Duffy & Bracken and I couldn't be more pleased to write a review. Through the skillful expertise of therapist Hsing-I Hsieh, I met my goals and learned how to sustain 'wellness' through a series of exercises and positive instruction. Hsing-I provided expertise coupled with compassionate care that makes me so thankful I had the opportunity to work with her.

Had double labrum tear (SLAP tear) on both shoulders. Upon getting the diagnosis, panic set in as I knew this would be two 3 month long drawn out difficult recovery with PT. After the surgeon did his thing, the real trick to full recovery was a good PT and Renuka and all the people at Duffy and Bracken are top notch. I really attribute my full recovery to the PT from this place.

Joan Therese Prenty

Kind, brilliant physiotherapists and educators. Have helped me through various problems and never come back for the same problem twice. Education and exercises have kept me healthy and pain free. You will become a fan.!

My Dr recommended Duffy & Bracken to help my diagnosis of plantar fasciitis. My condition was so painful I did not think Physical Therapy would alleviate all of my symptoms.I was incorrect......I worked with Hsing-I Hsieh & the results were amazing. She was knowledgeable & patient while working with me & I was thrilled with the outcome. If I could give 10 stars I would Bibi(Beatrice) Myerson

This might be a great place for someone who needs basic work but probably not for complex problems. They should bring people with enough experience. The environment did not seem professional. They did so many mistakes or forgot things. Their waiting area is very small and feels so uncomfortable. I haven't seen that in New York. Their practice area also is not private. The PT who helped me was not professional, probably because of her age. So many people there look inexperienced too. She would leave in tbe middle and someone else would keep doing the work. They kept forgetting things...

Anne Duffy and the other therapists are professionals who really know how to get to the root of your problem. I had hip and back pain but after two months with Duffy and Bracken I am pain free.

Probably good therapists, but careless admin. I have the impression that filling up appointments and getting the money is the only thing they care about. For what they charge, it is not really patient friendly. I went there only once. I was rushed through the first session in 30 min, which is supposed to be the evaluation (270 USD). The therapist seemed to be experienced, but she didn't finish the evaluation, just showed me the equipment we'd use next time. The next appointment I got was for 5 weeks later. After 30 days you need prescription from a physician. If you have insurance, you will not care. But I don’t have insurance so I pay out of pocket. First session is 270USD, second one is 160USD, but as I need prescription now (cost: 120USD) , basically it means that it costs me 550 bucks to get a full assessment, because they just don’t have time. Now I am stuck between two bad choices: not going back, which means that I paid 270 for nothing, or going back to finish the evaluation but that means that it would cost me 550USD. Annoying.

I don't why if I'm paying for a PT service, I'm being seen half by the therapist and half by an assistant. I came twice a week for 6 weeks and didn't feel any better the entire time. In addition, I was informed after i started the therapy that i need to purchase supplies for my sessions. The first session I paid for was a brief evaluation (which they saw me past my appt time) and then some stretching by a assistant therapist who just tells you what to do and then walks away. Very unhappy with this office. I was recommended to another office, i cant believe what a difference it was.

I love my physical therapist Hsing-I Hsieh. She's very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I broke my ankle and getting back to walking seemed super daunting. I was in pain a lot of the time and my PT was super encouraging and supportive. Pain went away quickly with her expertise! The space is an open floor plan but if you'd like more privacy they have two private rooms. I personally prefer the open floor plan, it's inspiring to see the progress of everyone around me. They also pull curtains between each work table. After my 30 minute session I work with the assistants to do my exercises, who are also friendly and willing to demonstrate each exercise if I don't understand. I don't feel rushed at all. I highly recommend my PT Hsing-I Hsieh. She really takes the time to work with me and get my muscles/bones back to my active lifestyle. She's very prompt, patient and listens to my experiences with my ankle very carefully. I had a one session each with Renuka Pinto and Mukta Chauhan and they were both amazing as well! Ive noticed that the entire team communicates well with each other and show professionalism at all times. The front desk staff are helpful and efficient. I book appointments several weeks in ahead, as this is NYC and appointments do fill up fast! Especially with such a great team of professionals!

Michelle was fantastic! My knee is back in action and I’m back to running long distance thanks to her expertise. Definitely will go back if I ever have other problems.

I've chosen Duffy and Bracken to help me with my pubic symphysis gap and also prolapse after giving birth. They have been very helpful in helping me strengthen my core for my next pregnancy. I've felt much better after following their exercises. The therapist Hsing-I Hsieh that I worked with is very professional and patient with helping me through the whole process. I will definitely recommend this place to others.
