They helped me through a hamstring injury and when my company switched insurance, I went somewhere else for a shoulder injury. 4 doctors later and I was still suffering. Finally fed up, I went back to House of PT and they fixed me up in less than 3 months. Never going anywhere else.

Dr. Jillian has been the most effect physical therapist I've seen. I came in with a twinged back issue and with her guidance I was able to strengthen my back and shoulders, which helped my posture tremendously. We then moved on to some knee problems I continued to have that past therapy didn't quite resolve. Jillian corrected my lifting form so I could get back in the gym and basically gave me a whole body adjustment that has made all the difference as I continue to be physically active playing soccer, snowboarding, running and whatever else I choose to do. She is not just a great physical therapist, she is also a wonderful person to be around. I highly recommend her and her practice.

Jillian is great! I recovered in no time and looked forward to PT every week.

I can't say enough good things about my experience at House of PT so far! I've met Dr. Shane, who is very nice, but I work with Dr. Jillian Proniwych. I feel fortunate to have come across HOPT on ZocDoc and read wonderful reviews about 1:1 training. I had been referred to a therapist at Mount Sinai who was nice at first, but rushed around the most of the time, spending very little 1:1 time with me directly except to show me the exercise and then only partly watching me perform it. I was on a crowded circuit and knew that I personally needed more individual attention. Enter Dr. Proniwych and House of Physical Therapy. When I emailed Dr. Shane for an appointment with a lengthy email about my dance, yoga and theater background, she responded herself with a recommendation to see Dr. Proniwych because of her background with dancers and Broadway actors. They had appointments the following week and soon I was in for my initial consultation. Jillian listened intently, taking notes in addition to a physical assessment for alignment, any pain, etc. She took her time and I never felt rushed then or in my subsequent visits. She came up with a plan for my treatment and we setup several appointments for the month. We did several exercises that first day and I left with an idea of what to practice, why, and how often. She sent me a follow up email with an exercise guideline and photos too for reference. The studio is clean, quiet and a perfect place for PT. There's a bathroom with a shower and plenty of room, props, a mirror and really nice mats to work on. There is no one else in the studio at the time (except maybe her very cute, hypoallergenic dog Daisy!) and I love it! For my treatment plan in sessions, Dr. Proniwych begins with bodywork and release techniques. I've found these to be incredibly helpful. But in addition, I've realized how important it is to do the work on my own between sessions, but this beginning part helps get me ready and reset from my work (or days I've missed) between. Then we review older exercises and add on to those. She's always answered questions and watches my form intently, but gives me space if I need to focus. We chat during the session and she's super friendly, kind and I feel comfortable with her. As for my recovery, it's been over a month with about 1 session per week (sometimes two) and I'm feeling so much better than I did! I have days that are better than others but I've shifted my perspective, the way I utilize my muscles and even the way I walk or go up the stairs. It's a process and a lot of work, but I'm seeing noticeable results physical and emotionally too. Walking around in pain all the time is no fun and I didn't realize how much of a drain it was on my state of mind too. It took me months to find a good fit, but given my experience with Dr. Proniwych so far, I know it was worth the wait.

I was SO RELUCTANT to try physical therapy again as my previous experience consisted of a few exercises on a print-out given as homework. After 6 months of neck pain that was seemingly immune to the Chiropractor and to Acupuncture, I gave PT with Dr. Jill a shot. Although it took a few weeks to start feeling lasting relief, I was impressed by both the hands-on approach and careful analysis of my movements contributing to the pain. I started with 3x a week and after about a month reduced my appointments to weekly and am honestly at a point where I am virtually pain free! I do have moments and twinges of pain but I also learned how to remedy the pain at an early stage to prevent and limit it from causing chronic discomfort. Dr. Jill has extensive knowledge of the human body and is available to answer and explain anything. Be patient, do your homework, and believe in the process - it works!

I can't recommend this place enough. Jillian helped me work through lower back issues in record time, and now I feel better and stronger than ever.

The folks at House of PT have allowed my recovery process safe, effective, and very pleasant. Their facility is clean and professional, located in a very quiet and accessible neighborhood. Very happy with my decision to become their patient.

Dr Jillian was extremely helpful in my recovery from a shoulder dislocation. She was careful in the planning and build up of exercises over the two months, including a mix of at home exercises. Thanks again for all the help! Matt

I've seen Stephanie for both acute (severe calf strain) and chronic (ankle instability/pain) injuries and can say without a doubt that she's the best physical therapist I've worked with in NYC. Stephanie is very knowledgable and intelligent, carefully assesses exactly what kind of treatment plan is necessary, and sets realistic expectations and goals. She offers personalized care, challenges/pushes you to work hard, and is always available to answer questions via text, email, or phone. I've recommended Stephanie to many friends and coworkers and all have had the same wonderful experience with her as I have. Highly highly highly recommended!

Dr Jillian Proniewych is absolutely amazing! The location is perfect and the atmosphere feels like the therapists can give you focused attention. Dr Proniewych gave me peace at mind that my injuries could and would be healed. It was the first time working with PT in New York City and I feel very lucky and fortunate to have found The House of Physical Therapy on Zocdoc!

When I went to see Dr Jillian, I was in a lot of pain due to an aggravated torn meniscus. My commute to work was slow and frustrating to say the least. As a testament to Dr Jillian's experience and expertise, I was able to see and feel noticeable results immediately after the first visit. Dr Jillian utilized a powerful trifecta of massage, stretch and exercise to get me on the road to a sustained recovery. I am glad to say that I am not just walking without pain, but I am back to Jiu-jitsu class as well.

I was referred to Steph (Dr. Shane) by a friend and I cannot say enough good things about my experience working with her. Over the past few years I have been to several different PT offices for a chronic running injury I endured in my posterior tibial tendon in 2015 and no one has been nearly as knowledgeable, helpful and compassionate as Steph. Steph generates a warm and welcoming atmosphere and takes her time getting to know her patients. I truly look forward to our appointments (something I could have never said about past PT). She walks me through the exercises in a fun yet educational way, which has tremendously helped support my independence in doing the exercise out of sessions. The facility is private and offers a much more personalized experience than past PT offices I have visited as well. Without hesitation, I would recommend her to any family or friends that are looking for a physical therapist.

Stef (Dr. Shane) and Johnny are amazing! I have been seeing Stef for a knee injury and Johnny for my shoulders/back and feel so much better. They are both extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Stef is super accommodating with her schedule. I highly recommend them. So happy I found these guys!

The House of Physical Therapy team were awesome. They not only helped me to recover from a back injury but also gave me the tools to strengthen my core and hopefully prevent future injuries. They are also all a super friendly bunch and I really enjoyed our sessions together. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

After a lifetime of injuries, this is the only place I trust to get me back to 110%. Having the PT and chiropractic services coupled together is an unparalleled benefit for any rehab program. They're not just another shop that's going to give you some home workouts to do and that's it. They work on you manually as well, through massages/adjustments/stretching/cupping, you name it. They also educate you so much on the specifics of your injury. So much to the point where not only are you fully comfortable with the fact that they know what they're doing each step of the way, but that they truly care to help you. For reference sake, I had a back surgery in January and was playing basketball again by March, not to mention dunking for the first time in almost 5 years. I owe it entirely to the time I've spent with The House of Physical Therapy and Warrior Chiropractic. Bottom line...they leave you in better shape than you were in before you even got injured, and they're all awesome people who I've had an absolute pleasure working with.

I had a very good experience with Jillian. She designed a set of exercises for my upper back pain and did great work with me in our twice a week sessions. After six weeks of therapy I left her care pain free.

I have been working with Stephanie (Dr. Shane) for months now, and can't recommend her practice enough. I started coming in for my elbow after I fractured it and needed to regain mobility and she did a great job providing me with an PT exercise plan that fit right into my gym schedule and/or I could do at home without any special equipment. A few months later, while training for the NYC Marathon, I developed ITBS ("runners knee") to the point where I could barely get to 3 miles without acute, burning pain on the outside of my knee. That was the end of August. After visiting her weekly and following her stretching/ rolling/ strengthening/ stretching plan, last Sunday (less than 3 months later) I was able to run the full NYC Marathon in 4 hours with no knee pain!! Stephanie taught me to trust the recovery process, and not only helped me within our PT sessions, but went above and beyond to build me a customized marathon training plan, custom strengthening workouts, running warmups (and helped improve my running form/cadence), and showed me special rolling and massaging techniques that I could do at home. I also have to add - Stephanie has the most wonderful "bedside manner" -- I look forward to my sessions there. And I love her office, the "House of PT" -- it is super clean, feels very private and "zen," has all the amenities of water, tea, snacks, full bathroom, etc., and convenient location for the East Village/Union Square location. Thanks for everything, Stephanie!!

I went to House of Physical Therapy after reoccurring tendonitis became unbearable. Stephanie not only helped relieve my tendonitis and get me back on the tennis court, but also helped me solve underlying nerve pain I had been experiencing in my hands. I loved her approach of individual attention and independent strengthening exercises.

I cannot recommend this place enough! I had chronic back pain on my right side for almost 6 years and though I was able to function pretty well it finally became too much and I decided to seek help. Dr. Shane was able to diagnose the cause of my discomfort almost instantly (a locked SI joint on my right side) and set me up with Dr. Proniewych to begin therapy. Within a week I was already moving better and after about 6 weeks I was basically pain free and have remained that way since my treatment ended. Dr. Proniewych was always friendly and helpful and together we crafted an exercise regimen that was simple and easy to follow at home. Because of them I feel better than I have in years. This place is great!

I came to House of PT and Stephanie and Johnny with a long term hip injury that was causing me pain every time I moved in April of this year. By June I was taking my first steps running without pain and now in September I can do everything I want. Stephanie and Johnny are patient, and kind, and they work hard to get their patients back out doing the things they love to do. I recommend them to everyone and am so thankful for their support and dedication. Almost sad I won't be going every week now! :)

I followed Dr. Jillian from her previous location because I believe she’s an amazing doctor. Other doctors I tried to see after seeing Dr. Jillian did not live up to her extremely high level of knowledge about how the body moves, or her understanding of techniques of how to make things better. Over the years, I’ve wrecked my body snowboarding with 3 left clavicle breaks (including surgery), a slew of broken ribs, and most recently and most devastatingly, a torn left rotator cuff, after which I started seeing Dr. Jillian. While there was never a doubt in my mind that I would recover from this last blow, Dr. Jillian has facilitated my progress from near immobility, to full range of motion, and back into the sports and activities I love most… yes, including snowboarding. I don’t believe I would be back at the level I am now without her help. Dr. Jillian is encouraging, empathetic and kind. She will push you to get back to where you want to be as an athlete.

I cannot say enough positive things about Stephanie-she truly changed my life. I had been to various other PT offices in Manhattan, and none come close to Stephanie's individualized care. I came to her with chronic lower back & neck pain that lingered for 2 years prior to meeting Stephanie. She was able to not only reduce my pain, but completely eliminate it. I am happy to report I am now pain-free and am doing activities & workouts I would not have dreamed of doing 2 years ago. She is knowledgeable, professional, compassionate and kind. I highly recommend seeing her if you are in need of a PT!
