Dr. Chan and his staff are absolutely amazing. I have to say that I was not a believer in PT when I started in January. I was in terrible pain from a full thickness tear in the right rotator cuff. I was willing to try anything. The Care I received and the exercises I was given for home turned everything around for me. From what I think was a frozen shoulder on my dominant arm causing major disability, I’m now capable of most daily living things (that we take for granted). He’s knowledgeable and understanding. All of his staff are wonderful. I can’t thank him enough for giving my life back.

Dr. Chan treats the whole person not just the injury. I was first impressed by his observational skills - he barely looked at me and knew what was wrong - and then by his willingness to listen. He has created a plan for me of PT plus exercise I can do on my own, which has made a tremendous difference in my ability to perform every day tasks that a knee injury made next to impossible. Dr Chan's kindness and thorough explanations why he is doing a particular treatment and what specific exercises will do for me, in addition to the fact that they really work, have made me more willing to do them. Because of Dr. Chan's whole body approach, I am experiencing reduced pain in parts of my body other than the injured area and have greater mobility than before my injury. Dr. Chan's staff reflects his caring attitude including massage therapist, Cynthia, who is truly excellent. I highly recommend Dr. Chan and Hands On NJ Physical Therapy to anyone needing treatment for an injury or mobility problems.

I've seen Dr Chan for rehab on a slight tear of the knee and more recently for leg atrophy. Dr Chan takes care of patients with both compassion for their issues and knowledge of a remedy that will make you feel better immediately. The patient is taught how to continue to rehab when you are not in the office and to keep exercising when the treatment ends. The rehab therapy builds up the areas surrounding the problem area which is very important. I highly recommend Dr Chan.

Dr Chan and his staff are amazingly effective, sensitive and skilled therapists. I visited the office to find relief from almost debilitating numbness and burning in both hands that interfered with my daily work as well as sleep. This was a result of a work injury almost 40 years ago. Dr Chan put together a treatment plan of physical therapy and massage therapy that to date has reduced the discomfort by at least 80% and eliminated the problem of waking at night due to the pain. This has enabled me to postpone or perhaps avoid surgery altogether. Dr Chan and his staff are incredibly compassionate and really hear what resulted from prior therapy sessions and bring this knowledge to bear with current treatment. I would recommend this office to anyone thinking about physical therapy to heal what is causing them pain and discomfort.

Absolutely like the title said. “Hands on NJ Physical Therapy”. Dr. Chan is an outstanding therapist. He is well educated and adheres to patient needs. His practice may not be big, but he has always personally tended to my therapy EVERYTIME I visited without fail. Currently I am with him on my right shoulder after rotator cuff surgery since November 2018. Dr. Chan coordinated my therapy based on my surgeons facts. I also comment on the outstanding support staff that have assisted in my healing sessions. My progress exceeds most other sessions as he incorporated message therapy into the sessions, which other therapy practices do not have. I could have injured myself if not for his guidance in step-by-step explanation on how to properly exercise towards my full recovery. I recommend no one else as his expertise is second to none.

My back and right arm was stretched and got hurt during a car accident. Initially I thought I could recovery by myself through exercises in Gym, but actually made matter worse after a couple of weeks' exercises in Gym. I never had physical therapy before. Initially with skeptical perception, I came to Hands on NJ Physical Therapy. They are professionals with warm reception. Under the leadership of Dr. Chan, his team provide exceptional "hands-on" physical therapy, as well as laser therapy, guidance and systematic planning on correct exercises. I recovered very quickly. Thank you very much. Highly recommend.

I have been running since I was 13-years-old. I really enjoy running. Last year, I ran my first half marathon and was very excited to start training for my first marathon. I signed up to run the NJ Marathon and decided to start doing Jiu Jitsu to improve my cardio. Unfortunately, I injured my hamstring while doing Jui Jitsu and was not able to run the marathon. I had to do to physical therapy for 4 months to help me strengthen my hamstring again, but I noticed my running was not the same. I was used to running more than 25 miles a week and after my injury I couldn't even run half a mile. After going to therapy for 4 months, I decided to go to another physical therapist to see what he could do. Sadly, this therapy did not work either. I was later recommended to Dr. Chan . I am so thankful to have meant Dr. Chan because he was able to find that my injury had caused connective tissues problems. Dr. Chan has also uncovered other problems with my leg stability and he is helping me improve all aspects. He is now helping me recover, I am finally able to run with less pain and I am on my way to full recovery. I know that Dr. Chan will help me recover 100%!

I began treatment with Dr. Chan and his staff about three weeks ago. Dr. Chan assessed my problems and outlined a strategy for healing and strengthening my body. Very quickly I began to feel better and with each treatment I see improvement. I appreciate their commitment and sincere concern about my health. They teach simple exercises/techniques that I have been able to use very effectively to proactively change my health.

I used to think that back pain was something that you had to live with for the rest of your life. Dr. Chan was able to diagnose and treat my pain on the very first visit. The relief I felt leaving his office was remarkable. I now know what I need to do to keep my back healthy and pain free.

Dr. Chan is outstanding. He is very attentive and caring. He listens to me and hears my needs. His knowledge, intuitiveness, and sensitivity gives me the best care possible. I have been with Dr. Chan for a chronic condition and do not take pain medications. The exercises, treatments and massage (Cintia is very strong and gentle) have helped me strengthen my muscles and move more freely. Dr. Chan, his staff and the atmosphere make the visit feel like family. I am very grateful to be in his care.

I was afraid my difficulty in walking was going to be with me the rest of my life, until I started treatment under Dr. Chan! After the first session and in each subsequent visit I have experienced relief and strengthening in my legs and hips. Dr. Chan listens and adapts his treatment to meet my personal situation and has the support staff to carry out the correct approach for healing. Thanks and kudos to Hands On NJ for giving me back mobility and strength!
