Great positive environment. Therapists were kind and upbeat, but definitly kept you on track with your rehab goals. The nurses were wonderful. They were patient and understanding and kept the meds coming on schedule. The whole facility was clean and fresh looking always.

First off, I want to be clear that I was very impressed with all of the OT and PT professionals here. However, their medical staff (and some) nurses are borderline incompetent for acute care. My dad had to go here after major heart surgery. After two weeks of good PT and OT they released him without providing their written discharge instructions for a his needs? They provided the information from the hospital rather than the evolved care needs from his stay there. This is wrong and a very dangerous error. Sadly the next day, the visiting nurse who came said that this was a common issue with this facility. She then called Northeast Rehab and spoke with them for nearly an hour to help devise the correct care plan. These items were not trivial! Moreover, while my dad was recovering in the ICU, a PEG feeding tube was placed into his stomach. It was deemed unnecessary while at this rehab facility. Yet, in his two weeks at this facility, their doctors refused to remove it! Once home it took us another week to get a doctor to take it out - and we had to go back to the hospital to have it removed. How stupid. Heck, he could have caught one of a great many of serious infections because this remained inside him. This foot dragging was completely unnecessary. To this day, it still angers me. In my opinion, I'd stay away from this place if you are recovering from major surgery and need acute care. Their medical staff is not up to the challenge and many nurses as well.

I loved thhe therapists, here! I had a stroke in July 2014 and spent several weeks here in in patient therapy. The physical therapists and occupational therapists were excellent and genuinely cared about my situation. :) THey had me working hard five days a week an walking with a Hemi walker before Medicare said I had to go to another facility:( Insurance is a wonderful thing if a bit arcane when it comes to how they make decisions...

This place is amazing. I spent just over a week here and they were able to get me back on my feet. I went in not being able to walk after back surgery. After my stay I was able to go home using a walker. I am so happy with the care I received. From the housekeeping staff to the Doctors, the service was top notch. If I ever need rehab again, this is the place to go. Thanks for everything NRH at Pease. Ken Trofattet

At Northeast they were very very rude to mom, dad & me. Very rough with mom, she told the nurse she was hurting her when moving her. They brought her down to a room w/ glass walls & a couple long tables, told us we couldn't go (sarcasticly) put food in front of her told her to eat, while nurse stood against wall watching her (according to mom) no conversation. Before i left to bring dad home because he was visibly upset. I was going to use rest room, male nurse snapped at me & said all guests use bathrooms down the hall, i said ok i didn't know. He said mom might have an infection because she came from a hospital & has a catheter. I informed him she did not have an infection & she did not have a catheter. He very rudely said yes she does, she has a foley bag. I informed him just as rudely that no she does not have a catheter, she has an Illiostemy bag & the foley bag is hooked to it so it doesn't need to be emptied as often. Mom was very upset & said get me out of here. We pushed call bell 3x over a 22 minute period & when nurse finally came in i asked to speak to a supervisor asap. She apologized & asked us to stay the night so they could monitor mom. The next morning mom was getting sick, nurse brought her to bathroom & started walking out of room (i was there, getting ready to say something) & another nurse walked in & told her there were 2 signs up (wall & door) stating Do Not Leave Unattended. The 1st nurse simply said oh i didn't see them. We ended up bringing mom by ambulance directly after to Portsmouth ER because her BP was 205/92. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!
