We were then referred to Shaul by a well respected orthopedic surgeon. What a difference in the results. Within a very short period of treatments by Shaul and his professional and caring approach, her neck pain was completely gone. Wish we had learned about Shaul sooner. Don't waste your time (and money) with others. Unlike the other places, here it is as the name suggest, it's "individualized physical therapy".

I learned about Shaul when I went to my internist for a PT prescription. I had gone somewhere else 7 months prior and felt my hip and knee issues were unresolved. I wasn't sure if they could be fixed since I had them for up to 40 years of my life, but I needed to try one more time. (I have tried massage, accupunture and Felde Krais over the last 30 years, but each provides only short-term relief.) While writing my prescription, my MD spontaneously said 'There is a GREAT physical therapist near here that is doing FANTASTIC stuff with myofascial release.' so I collected the information. I called Shaul's office a few weeks later and went out for my free consultation. The consultation was comprehensive and he listened and educated me. I told him I didn't want to have to rely on him to feel good - I wanted to eventually learn how to manage whatever I needed to know on my own. He assured me that I would be able to manage my alignment, releases and strengthening exercises on my own during and after he worked with me. He stressed that his goal was for me to do these things on my own, so there is no additional cost for additional PT appointments with him. Early in my 10 visits, (coupled with my own PT work at home) I no longer needed to use my bite guard for TMJ issues. I don't need to use my shoe orthotics to be comfortable while walking for exercise. My lower back and hips are much more mobile and discomfort is disappearing over time. My flexibility is greatly increased. I can lie in any position in bed and be comfortable. I know making a daily practice of the alignment, release and strengthening exercies is critical and my responsibility - but I have a path and I can do it independently. I am very optimistic and I have already seen results. I am very grateful for the referral and my individualized results. Thank you Shaul and Michelle!

There is no better physical therapist in the region than Shaul Givony. Period. I'm a veteran of physical therapy, having clocked hundreds of hours in PT due to many surgeries that stem from a birth defect. When we moved to Michigan, we fell into the Big Box trap (I won't name names). It was surprising to me that here you can go to physical therapy and not actually spend the time with the PT (allegedly, the PTs supervise your plan, but we know that's not happening). I literally googled "individual physical therapy" to find Shaul, because I was desperate to find someone who will give me the 1-on-1 treatment and help me recover from a tricky surgery. Shaul has patiently worked with me as we have tried figuring out my issues. I have a rare birth defect and my problems don't fit into an easy box. Shaul is both gentle and firm - he held me accountable for my progress and I really needed that. He explains everything that is going on with your body and the breadth and depth of his knowledge is incredible. I'm the type of patient who does better when I understand what is going on. Shaul has tried everything under the sun to help me with my ongoing pain, even unconventional therapies - he never gives up! His office has also referred me to other providers who have turned out to be lifesavers in my case (pain management, etc.). I've had so many dark days in my recovery and it was Shaul who talked me off the cliff. Lastly, if Shaul feels he cannot help you, he will tell you - instead of taking your money and wasting your allotted PT visits. I hope someday I can adequately show how grateful I am for his care and service. Shaul's entire staff is wonderful. Avin, the other PT, is just as skilled. Michele, his office manager, is a rare gem and a pleasure to work with and get to know. And Nicole, the other office staff, is just as friendly. You're more than just a name there and to me, they are like family. This is the best physical therapy available in the southeast Michigan region, hands down. We drive in from Detroit, 35 minutes one way, just to see them.
