"I received Physical Therapy for my left shoulder from Athletico from February - May of 2018. This was my second go around at physical therapy as a result of injuries I received in an automobile accident in December of 2016. I received PT from a different facility for around the same amount of time a year prior - I quit going due to negative results.
Susan, the Physical Therapist at Athletico, has given me back the hope that - one day - I may live pain free with 100% mobility. I am now on the maintenance program because my insurance will no longer pay for treatment (there is a cap on the visits allowed through my insurance). I am continuing my exercises 2-3 times per week at their facility thanks to their very reasonable self-pay maintenance plan. It is a huge goal to maintain what I lost due to the accident. After discontinuing PT in May of 2017 I continued to live with day to day pain and very limited mobility. I was unable to drive using the hand over hand motion for sharp turns and I was unable to fasten my seat with my left arm. Most household task were impossible using my left arm/shoulder. As of May 1, 2018 I am able to fasten my seat belt with my left arm!!!!
Athletico in Clinton, MI is a life saver for me. Everyone from the office assistant to the physical therapist and her assistant have made an impact on my recovery, by their knowledge and/or support. They are very determined to help me be completely active again. My physical therapist Susan is incredibly tuned into my injury and has worked with me and the results of my MRI to understand my injury and is determined to help me get back my full range of motion - without pain.
Life has been trying since the accident over a year and a half ago. I could no longer do the fun activities that I so looked forward to in retirement. For instance swimming the basic freestyle stroke was impossible. I'm able to swim now due to the range of motion Susan has helped me regain - with a limited amount of pain. Susan worked with me to develop a stretching, training and weight strengthening approach that has me back on track and looking forward to my recent retirement. It was a long road to recovery because of the severity of my injury, I was broadsided by an F-150 pickup truck that ran a stop sign.
The entire staff at Athletico are amazing, experienced, and caring professionals. I'm confident I will continue to get better through their care and direction. And I would highly recommend anyone that is injured and wants to get mobile and pain-free again to obtain their PT through Athletico of Clinton, MI. Thank you!"
