I would definitely go over every detail when going here. Cross your T's and Dot your I's. I never made it to therapy part due to this main reason.
- Upon visiting, they first require your insurance deductible, which is normal. However, they also want a fee of 75 dollars in addition to your deductible for estimated services. Yes I said estimated. They want that money before knowing what treatment you will get that visit, and before they bill your insurance company to see exactly what they did and what was covered.
- This is very concerning. You should always wait for your EOB from your insurance company to see what was covered during your session before paying. That is the whole point of giving the deductible up front. Second, when I question this practice for them, I got Verbatim "We estimate our cost as an average, and we are concerned to make sure we get payment from our patients as some of them do not pay us."
The billing practice is for sure odd, and my wife and I own a medical office that is not PT, but we have never heard of that practice anywhere. Also, with the explanation given, it just felt like there was less concern for helping a patient and more concern about them getting paid. Anyway, I decided to find a different PT provider.
Hard to rate them, but I gave them a star for what looks like a nice facility, and star, because the office staff I talked to seemed pleasant and polite.
Despite the response by the owner below, I did not misinterpret what was told to me. Again, I stress making sure you go over all the details.
