This is bar none is the worst pain clinic I have ever been to (the APMI Greenbelt office). You are never given the opportunity to see an actual physician but instead, a bunch of ableist physician assistants.
The wait time is unGodly. I had an appointment and waited over an hour to be seen though I was a current patient. Also, I find their PA staff to be quite cruel, dismissive, condescending, and for medical professionals, they have extremely poor bedside manner.
The physician assistants act like it's a nuisance to see you though you're paying for their time. They rarely make eye contact and show very little emotion or compassion towards patients. They make you wait forever to see them during your appointment. In the end, you only get to speak with them for less than 5 minutes.
They don't even bother to remember or say your name.
To be quite frank, I believe they are apart of the problem when it comes to racial bias in pain treatment. Research shows that black patients are less likely to be prescribed prescription pain medications than white patients. That why they act like it's such a big deal to write you a damn prescription in their Greenbelt office. It's a predominantly black area.
From my personal experience, I've felt the discrimination first hand in how unwilling they are to allow you to speak on the phone to an actual doctor or the physician assistant, but just the receptionists. They treat you more like a criminal or drug addict and not a patient in chronic severe pain.
I am disappointed I ever got treatment at their pain clinic and have given them my money for months only to have my pain management care to be awful and managed by such uncaring individuals.
