David was recommended to me by a colleague, but I couldn't regret that reference more. I am a 120 lb athlete and herniated a disc in my low back. David wanted to stretch my back. He had me lay on my back and fold my legs on my chest. He climbed on top of me and forcefully pushed his body weight on me. It certainly stretched my back.... I was gasping on the table due to the pain. This left me laying in bed in deep pain for a week, missing work and wondering why a professional would force so much weight and torque on someone who could barely walk without pain. He responded to my obvious pain, telling me that "we have to experiment to find what works."
I'm not a guinea pig. This was not a human trial. I did not consent to experimentation. I was seeking treatment. If he did not know what he was doing, he should have said so.
In speaking with other healthcare professionals after I fired David, this was confirmed as an uninformed decision that would not have been derived from scientific literature. And... if you need an idea of who has taken the time to truly understand the foremost science and treatment for the human body, I highly recommend Chris Pribish at U-Med Gym in South Portland. Within 30 minutes, he had me walking around the room without pain. Prior to meeting Chris, I was unable to leave my bed without pain.
(For the record, this climbing on top of me scenario was not sexual. David is well intended and respectful. I quite enjoyed conversing with him, but would not recommend his care.)
