I first discovered Sport+Spine in 2011. I was having HORRIFIC back pain and was undergoing diagnostic tests in preparation for back surgery. S+S was recommended to me by a coworker and although my primary care doctor was against it, he wrote a script. On my second visit, the therapist, Drew, informed me that I did not have a lower back problem, but had a hip flexor problem. After working with me for a couple of weeks, for the first time in four months, I was able to stand straight up. I had spent the previous four months walking bent over, riding the motorized scooters in stores, and in terrible pain. Had I not gone to Sport+Spine, I likely would have had back surgery and been in the same, or greater pain. I tell anybody who needs physical therapy about them.

Although the therapist was great, the billing, charges, and staff are awful. $1200 for four session and my only issue was pain during running! When I called to question, I got transferred three times and never got an answer except that their rates went up (without notice). Perhaps if insurance covered charges 100% or I had unlimited funds, this would be acceptable.

I was referred to S+S and am pretty sure Drew is known as "the hip whisperer" to all of his PAO patients. He listens to me, assesses my problems and personalizes treatments / workouts that are helping me heal and get back to my regular active lifestyle of dancing and fitness!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Consistent approach with instructions to follow for at home exercises. Wide range of appointment times to fit schedules. My teenage daughter was able to get back to dancing after back surgery thanks in part to the help of physical therapy. Kylie worked with her and taught her to pay attention to her pain and work on exercises to help alleviate. Would highly recommend this business if you need physical therapy. You will not be disappointed by the attention you get.

I can't say enough about how much the caring professionals at Sport & Spine have helped me through several injuries. Drew got me back running after a knee injury and Kylie helped rehab a broken foot and is currently working with me to alleviate back and joint pain. They listen to your concerns and design a program that works with your lifestyle. I really appreciate getting emails with my PT exercises, including pictures so it is easy to use proper form and remember which exercises we did during a session. I would highly recommend the S & S! They have helped me be able to maintain an active lifestyle which is priceless!

I have had physical therapy from Tru Move for an injury to my back and an injury to my knee. For both injuries I had received lots of other treatments before beginning physical therapy. I cannot believe what a difference physical therapy made for me. I have been dismissed and continue to use training plans that my PT set up for me. I have received excellent care from Mark and Ethan(?) with a very stubborn elbow injury. Dry needle therapy which you cannot find everywhere is making the difference. I am seriously considering setting up an overall fitness & strengthening plan once my elbow heals.

The quality of therapy here at Sport and Spine is far superior to other places I've gone to. They understand that to address a problem area, they need to work everything connected to that area to heal the area and restore your body to its proper balance. I started at a different PT place and left due to frustration. Sport and Spine was exactly what I needed to work thru my long term, chronic condition. My husband discovered this place a few years ago and they corrected a physical problem from a football injury he had incurred 30 years ago. He's referred others here and they have the same reaction that we have - wonderful place and highly recommend them.

Kim has been phenomenal in truly listening & then developing an individualized program for my needs vs. a standard patient protocol! After a big injury 14 years ago, I’d tried almost everything: chiropractic work, massage, PT, acupuncture, cupping, dry needling. But I was still suffering daily and being awoken nightly from back pain. Drew, Kim, and Ethan took my pain seriously and approached in a fresh way. Dry needling and manual PT has been a game changer. I’m now without pain (!!!) and know how to mitigate should I trigger it by moving poorly. If you feel like you’ve tried everything, then go to TruMove. I can’t recommend them enough.

My PT experience was after some fairly extensive shoulder surgery. I had previously been through extensive knee rehab and hand rehab at other facilities, so I had some idea of what to expect, but I was blown away by the friendly and uber-professional environment at TruMove. The staff acts like they really enjoy working there and it's a pleasant, open, physical environment to work in. I was pushed appropriately, but never beyond my tolerance level, and the upbeat atmosphere made it almost a game to see how much I could improve week over week. I actually grew to look forward to my sessions, and I kind of miss my time there now that it's over. Post session work with TruMove's app allowed me to continue my progression. My thanks to Dr. Drew and in particular, Dr. Ethan "Bones" McCoy, my therapist. Might have to send over Christmas cookies.

My initial issue happened back when I was 20 (I'm 35 now), and 6 years ago, when it flared up badly, I went through a good 21 months of sports doctors, medicines, chiropractors, and more. I've been acupunctured, MRI'd, TENS unit-ed, heat, ice, PT, traction/decompression therapy, and all I had to show for it was a quality of lifestyle where I couldn't sit at meetings for more than about 10 minutes without having to manage my pain. With young kids, I couldn't sit on the floor and play with them, I couldn't give them a bath, and sometimes, they had to help me put on my shoes. At 35, I felt like this was just my life. Pretty rotten life, right? I've been going to TruMove since March of 2018. Apart from their unique blend of skeletal-muscular therapy, I've been through their dry needling (they just taught a whole clinic of it this past weekend, so they are top of the line there) and in the past 6 months began laser therapy from them. Over the course of the 15 months, I've seen most of the therapists as well, so I can speak to each of them, although Drew is who I've seen most. Drew makes you hurt, but never in a way that isn't safe or purposeful. I credit him with my progress. I've been tracking upwards my entire time - I no longer need to take my prescription meds, I'm able to sit on the floor and play with my kids, meetings can take as long as they need, and I've been an assistant coach for both my daughter's soccer team and my son's tee ball team. If I've ever had a setback, he's right there either on an email or some other communication telling me to get my rear in there to get it taken care of. If more people went to TruMove, we'd have a far better work environment and I think less overall insurance/health issues. They just seem to understand our bodies better than anyone else I've ever seen. And they are a TEACHING clinic too. I've been one of the 'tester' people for students now... I think three or four. And they are amazing teachers to boot. Am I perfect? No, that's what 15 years of a herniated disc and constant muscle spasms will do to your lower back. Am I better than I was? Yes, and better than I thought possible - without drugs, without surgery, without pain clinics. TruMove works. End of story, full stop. Does it cost money? Yeah. If you are going to go long-term and have a high individual deductible - get their membership. It's way cheaper in the long run. If you're like me and don't have a high deductible, you'll hit it quick in the year, get a ridiculously good value for the rest of the year, and add on all the other things that insurance does not yet cover. Like the laser therapy - which you should do. Like every time.

I have been going to Trumove for almost a year and can honestly say that I could not be more pleased with my experience. Everyone at Trumove is so friendly and attentive. You can tell that they really care about you. Along with friendly staff, they have state of the art equipment and are constantly trying to keep everything up to date. This facility has an anti-gravity treadmill, BFR, normatec, and offer dry needling, deep tissue laser therapy, cupping, rock blade, and countless other treatments/services.

Drew and Kim are very knowledgeable, have excellent assessment skills and implement the most advanced interventions in physical therapy. They really listen and take time with patients. I've been going here for 3 or 4 weeks now, and it's more than met my expectations. Before I moved back to KC I gave physical therapy a shot somewhere else, and I can safely say Sport+Spine is quite a bit different, in a good way. Different in the sense that at the other place we did a lot of static holds and traction (for lower back pain), while at S+S we focus more on dynamic stretching, restoring proper muscle balance, and building core strength. My physical therapist came up with a personal plan for me and didn't just follow a standard "cookie-cutter" approach, which is great. Also, the equipment they have is top notch and everyone there is super friendly.

If you are already fit, made-of-money, and looking for trendy PT for something minor, this gym may be for you. The staff was friendly enough, but not at all worth the headaches. Like others, I paid up front for each visit, AND THEN I was charged again once my therapy ended. I only had 4 visits, and ended up paying over $500 out of pocket, instead of $30/visit, as was indicated at the beginning of my therapy. Much of that for a student to practice kinesio tape and have me stand on a vibrating plate. The only upside is that by the time I started PT with a legitimate group (recommended by my spinal surgeon), I had already reached my deductible at S+S.

Finally I got help for my pinched nerve. My therapist Ethan was sincere, and cared about me. He always addressed my issues during my sessions. Trumove gives me a good alternative to running around and meeting all kinds of doctors, them needing expensive procedures and the stress related to that. Now when my family has a flareup I always ping Ethan to see whether he can offer a solution.

The physical therapist was great and she really helped me, but I asked about the charges before I started and they did not explain them well at all. The cost for five 45 minute physical therapy sessions was over $1000. I'm glad I am better, but caution people to ask more questions about the charges before going there.
