Alicia Schwipps and the West Lafayette Athletico is outstanding.
I run for fun about 60 - 70 miles/week and I am in my mid-20's. After a long run, I had an Achilles problem. The next day, Alicia provided a free consultation and I was able to make appointments the same day, even without a referral from a doctor. I met at Athletico about 14 times*: twice a week for 7 weeks.
I was back to running in less than a month. I will be back to full mileage in a little over 2 months (next week). Other runners with similar issues can be out for 6 months before running at all.
Alicia Schwipps is an excellent physical therapist. Almost immediately, she identified muscle groups linked to my injury I would have not worked-out otherwise. During the exercises, she corrected my form to ensure I am working out the muscle group properly. Alicia also provides excellent, targeted home programs with videos; I continue to use mine still. Alicia provided a running gate analysis to identify oddities in my running form; I learned I run on the outside of my feet. This helped her target additional muscle groups to workout, and it raised my awareness about my form. She is very personable and we always had nice conversation. After I expressed interest, she made me a copy of a published study about running injuries. After I expressed interest, she made a home weight program to reduce my chance for injury.
Alicia truly went "above and beyond" to get me running and prevent future injury. I appreciate her help a great deal. I highly recommend Alicia Schwipps and the West Lafayette Althetico.
*I did eventually need a doctor's referral since Athletico can only see patients for 24 days (I think) after their first appointment without a referral according to some Indiana law (I think).
