I had an EFL (every friggin ligament) injury to my knee, (ACL, MCL, LCL< Meniscus, etc etc) and worked with Vanessa to prepare for the ACL reconstruction and Meniscus repair and then post-surgery PT. I seriously could not have done it without her. She blew me away by wanting to attend my surgery, wanting to meet my doctor, all the work she did with me prior to my surgery had me with almost restored flexion and I was walking around with out a brace prior to surgery. As a result, the outcome of the surgery--I was able to bend my knee to 120 degrees about a week after the surgery blew my surgeon's mind. She even came to my house 4 days after surgery to help me practice moving and get my flexion back. Her constant attention to what was happening, and her caring approach to everything really made it possible for me to get thru this really long and painful process.

I have been to Activa Physical Therapy for the last 8 months - for ACL tear and meniscus rupture in my left knee, I saw Samir and his staff, and I cannot say enough great things about him, Samir goes above and beyond. He explained in detail why I needed to do each exercise, why the massage and ultrasound were needed, and set realistic timelines for me. It is a pain to do at-home exercises, but when you understand in detail why you should do them, it keeps you motivated. Even after I finished physical therapy, he followed up to see how I was doing. Having been to physical therapists for the last 8 months , 3 times a week, I would describe it as a friendly environment. I will say, Samir is hilarious, and for the first time ever I didn't dread going to PT even at 8:00 am or 7:00 pm. You don't feel like you are 1 of 100 patients he has to rush through each day and he keeps it lighthearted, but productive. It is honestly a game changer for me!

I have gone to one other physical therapist before, and it was an average experience for a minor condition. When I tore my ACL, I was worried about the recovery process because you hear that it is a very long process. To make matters worse, I was heading to Italy in 3 months, but my doctor HIGHLY recommended Activa. After reading reviews online, I decided to go to Activa. Samir and his staff are very knowledgeable and fun to work with. They always try to accommodate my schedule in anyway they can. In 6 weeks, I am able to get back to my normal routine and do my regular work out. It was such a pleasure to go there every time. One big difference of Activa comparing with the other place I went before is they try to educate patients on why they are doing certain exercises and what body part those exercises target. In late 2012, I suffered a serious work-related injury to both legs, including an awful muscle sprain to my right hamstrings requiring long-term treatment and rehabilitation. Despite successful treatment at the time, flash forward a few years and a constant dull pain returned, becoming consistently worse and occasionally sharp and stabbing. Seeing my quality of life diminishing and my active lifestyle severely curtailed, I sought out physical therapy with Activa, with the goal of "Better than new, and returning to 100% full function." I cannot give enough praise to the outstanding doctors and staff of Activa Physical Therapy! Working primarily with Dr Carson Moesle, I exceeded my goals. The pain is gone, my strength and flexibility has significantly increased, and I am more active now than before and with greater confidence. I found Carson to be knowledgeable and thoughtful in her care, very encouraging, and optimistic, as was Dr Samir Sharma. PT Assistant Jennifer and PT Techs Daisy and Kevin were equally thorough and professional in every way. But here's what sets them apart: They somehow made going to physical therapy enjoyable! Yeah, it was hard sometimes - it's physical therapy, after all - but I actually looked forward to my appointments, the ever-increasing challenges given me, and the positive, encouraging energy that fills the office. I originally found this place by a basic google search and I'm so happy I did. I had sharp shoulder pains for months while I played volleyball. I had iced and rested it with no success. The pain always returned. I was feeling pretty defeated by the time I came here. Sessions are about an hour with a mix of stretching, strengthening and massage-type work. After going twice a week for about a month I can say my shoulder is so much better. Playing volleyball no longer hurts! Many thanks to for all their help!

I was referred to a physical therapist for vestibular rehabilitation therapy to treat my persistent (and recurring) benign paraxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). This treatment is specialized and the search to find one in my community was frustrating, at first. I found Activa through an internet search and I was very impressed by their raving online reviews. I decided to try them out and I'm so thankful that I did. Samir did a wonderful job with my therapy. Best PT clinic I've been to. You get individual attention by the Physical Therapist and the assistants. They are very knowledgeable, and are constantly monitoring your progress. Definitely the place to go if you ever need any physical therapy. I was a patient for over half a year treating two different issues. Both my issues got much better compare to before. Every staff here is very professional and nice. They tailor the treatment plan to your personal situation and your goal(i.e. do you want to be able to handle your old workout routine). I don't do many reviews, so when I do it's because something really made a difference and I want to let everyone know about it. Activa PT is not a one-size-fits-all practice but rather a small personal practice. I've seen other PT’s in NYC, but none were as focused on my well-being. Over the last 3 years I suffered a broken pelvis from a horse riding accident, and more recently debilitating knee pain from years of wear and tear. I originally found Vanessa’s practice by searching for an office that was closest to my work to make it easier to get to during my lunch hour. There seem to be hundreds of physical therapy offices near the Empire State Building / 34th St / Murray Hill area, and I could easily have chosen another office. Boy am I glad I chose Activa PT. Vanessa is simply AMAZING! As the lone therapist she is extremely gifted, caring and kind. She takes the time to access your situation. Patient and observing, she then works with you to tailor a program that helps you heal. I would describe this practice as providing high level treatment and compassionate care to every single patient that walks in the door. These ideals are fundamental at Activa and not everywhere else, as his entire team is noticeably dedicated to patient comfort, progress and care. The clinic itself is very organized with effective communication between the team of PT's, technicians and massage therapist. Samir is smart and kind and is extremely talented in his clinical skillset, I would highly recommend care by Samir and his team.

Prior to coming into PT, I would often feel shoulder pain when performing any workout involving the upper body. Through PT, I was able to build significant shoulder strength and no longer feel that lingering pain while workout out. Additionally, I have seen a noticeable improvement in posture since I started PT.

I enjoyed working here both because of the staff and patients. The owner, Samir, is very knowledgable and ensures that therapists have plenty of technicians helping them at all times. One of the main treatment approaches her is exercise, which is well supported by research. We also tried to make therapy enjoyable for the patients. I would recommend this clinic!

After experiencing recurrent pain from a previous injury. I scheduled an appointment with my pain specialist. After an evaluation he wrote me a script for physical therapy. I visited the place Activa Physical Therapy as suggested right after my appointment with my pain specialist. I meet the therapist Sameer right away. I also inquired about being in network. Everything seemed like a fit. I said I would call them to make my 1st appointment. When I called, the receptionist was unable to schedule me and indicated the therapist would call me when he got back from lunch. Sameer did call, and said he could see me the next day @3:30pm. He said the appointment would be about 45 min. He told me to bring my Drivers license, prescription, and my insurance card. I arrived outside at 3:25pm. I While preparing my sitter to sit with my 6week old and 4 yrs old in the car. I made sure I had everything he requested I bring. I walked in the door at 3:36pm. The therapist comes up to me and says I can see you today but only for 15 maybe 20 min. I was given paperwork and that was supposed to take 10 min to fill out. I glanced around the two therapy tables were occupied and two more patients arrived while I filled out my paperwork which took 5min. It was clear to me that they were overbooked for the day. I asked Sameer to explain to me how arriving 7min after my scheduled appointment reduced my 45min session so drastically his response was your appointment was at 330pm and you had paperwork to fill out. I stated no one asked me to arrive earlier for paperwork I was outside I could have come in if I had been told about paperwork. Then he made the statement he needs his time to be valued. I asked so bc I came in 7min after my scheduled appointment how does that imply I don't value your time. At this point I knew I would not use his services.

Activa was I'll, my only experience with physical therapy, but it was a tremendously good one. They were very personable and professional. Because of them, my almost completely destroyed shoulder is back to normal. I would recommend them to anyone.

I had a rotator cuff surgery and chose Activa Therapy in Naperville to do my therapy. Therapy was painful and difficult but they kept me motivated. It was with their care I was able to be to full recovery with my right shoulder. Thanks to all the staff!

The Activa team is fantastic! I had ACL surgery and could barely walk and had no strength or functional movement when I first started therapy. The team started each session checking in on how my knee was doing and knew exactly which exercises to work on v others to wait on and how to tailor my session for the day. I could tell they were dedicated to my success and it shows in my results- I have gained a significant amount of strength and mobility working with them. I sadly am moving to a new state and need to finish therapy elsewhere- my next PT team will be held to a very high bar! I highly recommend all the PTs at Activa to anyone.

Samir and his amazing team here at Activa have been with me through enough unfortunate accidents to last a lifetime. Originally, I came here after a motorcycle accident that resulted in a completely torn PCL. This made me unable to live not only the extremely active lifestyle I was used to (lifting, krav maga, and rock climbing), but to even walk without pain. Halfway through treating my knee, I was rear-ended by a drunk driver, resulting in whiplash that has taken almost an year to treat. Through it all, the Activa team helped me navigate my treatments and were there for me as emotional support as well. I never doubted my full recovery despite its length—Samir and his team ensured I followed up with an orthopedic doctor if I was extra anxious about something.
