John is much more than a physical therapist; he is a true healer. I have been having stubborn hip pain and tightness that hasn't responded to traditional stretches and therapies. After two sessions at Above Physical Therapy, I have more space in my hips than I've had in years. John has incredible intuition and skill in locating the origin of a problem and amazing patience and expertise at coaxing the body back to health.

These folks are absolutely fantastic. Following my knee replacement surgery I worked with Above Physical Therapy for more than two months. This gave me a chance to work with all three therapists. John, Maria-Elena, and Amelia all have slightly different approaches to physical therapy, and this worked out perfectly for me. I always enjoyed interacting with the people at Above. From the front desk to the therapists, everyone was terrific. They were professional and very personable. The whole place has a warm, positive vibe to it. Although the sessions were an exercise in tough love, they were exactly what I needed. The work was uncomfortable at times, but we always backed off when we approached my pain threshold. It was an amazing balancing act. There is no cookie-cutter treatment here. Everything is very personalized. This is the third time in my life that I have gone through physical therapy following surgery, and Above Physical Therapy offered by far the best experience. No comparison. I highly, highly recommend Above Physical Therapy.

This place is amazing! I had pain in my shoulder / neck for months that would not go away. After one visit with John, it was almost 100% fixed. Not only is the treatment top notch, but the staff is super friendly and helpful as well. I recommend this place to every one I know who is struggling with any physical pain.

This summer I began experiencing extreme radicular pain from a herniated disc at C6/C7. Above Physical Therapy is certainly not the closest physical therapist to me - it’s a 40 minute drive each way without traffic. However, based on the strong recommendation of a close friend, I decided to give them a try. I am so glad that I did! When I first started seeing John and Maria-Elena, I was in so much pain that it hurt to even touch my neck/shoulder. John and Maria-Elena were patient, gentle, and persevered, despite the challenge that comes with treating a patient with such a high degree of pain. I am incredibly grateful to be able to say that I am now pain-free, and I owe that to Above Physical Therapy.

All was well until yesterday. The management (John) made a poor decision which ended my ongoing physical therapy. I was shocked the way he treated me. I am a disabled United States Naval Veteran of War. I felt like he walked all over my broken body; suffered during war. After this company has decided to treat a distinguished veteran of war like me; HOW WILL THEY TREAT YOU! Update: 04/29/2018. The owner has responded with a comment regarding my behavior. Unbelievable!! My behavior was never questioned while I was receiving therapy. I stand firm by my review.

Throughout my recovery I have had to deal with many different physical therapy places however by far this one has been the best! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The massage therapist I see here is very knowledgeable about the body and truly knows how to make you feel better.

John is a fantastic therapist. Unlike other PT offices, Above PT does not feel like a gym and you are not sharing your PT time with other patients. John works one-on-one with patients. He takes the time to talk with them about their progress, demonstrate home exercises, and explains why he's doing what he's doing. My family has been to several different PT practices in metro Atlanta and Above PT is by far the best place for a healthy and successful recovery.

I can't possibly find enough words to describe how wonderful Above PT is and how grateful I am for all the support and help that John and Amelia have given me after I fractured my wrist. My experience there is simply beyond amazing. But don't wait to get injured to visit them, they also have Yoga and Pilates classes to help you improve your physical health! (And yes, I'm typing this with both hands - thanks to them!)

The folks at AbovePT are simply amazing! I have been through some pretty challenging times in the last few years dealing with trying to get worsening pain diagnosed correctly in both my neck and in my hip and lower back. I cannot quite explain in words the sincerity of the support and quality of care that I felt from Marie-Elena and everyone at AbovePT. In what was an extremely challenging time where I had been barely able to walk out of my house or get a good night's sleep due to the pain all the way through to getting properly diagnosis and having the needed surgeries, AbovePT was there to support me in so many ways. The intuitive and well trained care I received is equal to none. I was not just a number being rushed through the system like I had experienced in other physical therapy facilities. I am more in touch with my body's signals and using the techniques that Marie-Elena taught me I've been able to stay ahead of resolving small issues during my continued path towards health and mobility. I am very happy to say that I can walk evenly with no limp, that I know when to push and not to and what to do to help work out tightness! Not to mention I've gotten some much needed sleep due to the reduced pain and stress from being in chronic pain.While surgery was ultimately part of the answer, my recovery as a whole, I attribute much to the care I received from AbovePT. I would highly recommend AbovePT for anyone searching for genuine care in their quest towards recovery.

I have been going to Above PT for many years. My grown children as well and when my elderly father was visiting from out of state he was treated by John for 12 sessions and said he never felt better! They are true healers. I don't know where I would be without their excellent care.
