I became aware of this physical therapy practice while attending a health fair with my wife Nicole at Eastwood Pharmacy. Josh, the lead practitioner at this location is very personable and willing to do anything to help his clients. Josh has a very impressive resume and an even more impressive bag of tools from which to assist clients. After several appointments, I came to the realization this setting would not be suitable for what I was trying to achieve. This has nothing to do with Josh and his services. Josh is the consummate professional and if I ever need PT services he will be the first call I make. I have given 4 stars out of 5 because of Josh's staff. More specifically the receptionist. She is a young girl who I will assume is maybe 18 or 19. Unfortunately, she has the maturity level of a 13-14 year old child. With Josh's level of professionalism I cannot for the life of me see why he hired her to manage the operational aspects of his office! She is a liability to the operation as a whole. The rest of this review is directed to Josh specifically and the informal verbiage will reflect this. Having spent the last 12 years managing operations for Verizon Wireless retail stores in New Mexico and Alabama I know how important Operations is. Her lack of maturity and professionalism will fail you when you can least afford it. I tell you this because I value you as a person Josh, you are one-in-a-million and you are poised to help a lot of people. Some examples of what I am talking about: First, the girl is oblivious to the needs of patients as she yells out lyrics to songs on the radio. It is behavior you see from little boys and girls who are trying to "show out" for attention. Second she dances around to the music while patients are trying to work around her! She sings and carries on like an attention starved, little girl. I am not the only patient who finds the behavior unprofessional and disruptive! I noticed your other patients looking at her with the same disdain I was feeling. One gentleman commented to me that he stilI hadn't gotten used to her! Energetic, positive people are a rare and valued commodity in a public facing operation, however, she is trying way too hard and it is disruptive at best. This behavior will lose you customers. Plus her lack of maturity may cause you to loose even more if she is actually responsible for sensitive documents and patient charts! I realize I am being abrasive but employee behavior directly affects how your customers perceive the care they are receiving. You would not see her behavior tolerated in any other professional, medical office. The customer's experience should be your number one priority. I have seen AJ's pharmacy struggling to stay afloat and I care very much about him and his staff. While their situation is not the result of staff, it is a frightening reminder how tenuous all businesses are especially in Irondale. To be subject to AJ's situation BECAUSE it was a staff issue that could have been avoided is a tragedy I hope you are not willing to risk! I came to value you very quickly as a blessing from God and I hope you understand I have your better interests at heart. Oh and by the way we are going to have Dr. Felgner set up a PT referral to you for my wife as I know you will be able to take care of her! She is having some tendonitis in her left arm, headaches and back spasms. In conclusion Josh, there are many competitors the public can choose from in every service oriented market. Failing to keep your customer's experience first will result in decreased traffic into your operation and ultimately closed doors.

I walked into the clinic not really knowing if my back would get better. The two pregnancies and done a number on me. Jordan was amazingly welcoming and encouraging, and both therapists (Josh was out of the country for a minute) I had the pleasure of working with were very attentive and helpful. They were able to help me get back into exercise and running in no time. It really jump started my fitness, and I still use many of the exercises they taught me. It was always a pleasure to go in. The atmosphere was always very inclusive and fun. I never dreaded having to go. I truly miss them. Highly recommend these guys!! You won't be disappointed!

What sets Benchmark apart from other physical therapy clinics is Kayla and her staff, Emily and Jemiar.They have excellent interpersonal communication skills combined with outstanding working knowledge and experience in physical rehabilitation.Their ability to empathetically communicate and lead me through my physical rehabilitation is why my therapy has been so successful. Also Kayla has played a very active "hands on" role in my treatment. My previous experiences with physical therapy clinics have been quite the opposite. I would meet with the physical therapist once in which they would process paperwork and I would never see them again. My experience with Benchmark has been far superior because I see Kayla every session. It's so nice to have this interaction with a physical therapist. I never leave with unanswered questions. When I started rehabilitation with BenchMark two weeks after full knee replacement surgery, my knee was very stiff and swollen. In six sessions my knee has made very positive progress. My surgeon has referred nine more session with BenchMark and I am very confident that the treatment plan of Kayla's will succeed in providing total rehabilitation for my knee.
