I have never written a negative review for a company, but I was so disappointed with my experience at Gray Crane studios that I had to write one. I have bought paintings from this studio and absolutely love them. I think Gary’s work is phenomenal and is the place to go to in Jackson! When I am in the Jackson area, I ALWAYS stop by. Well my past trip was no different except the fact that I was discriminated against. It was a cold morning (around zero degrees outside), so I had my heavy duty camo pants on with a grey Patagonia pullover and a black beanie to stay warm. I entered the store and there were 3 associates working (2 female and 1 male). None of the associates would assist me. I walked around the store for 20 mins and received not one word from an associate. Heck, I even intentionally looked at artwork near the associates to try and see if they would engage in a conversation with me after realizing what was going on. To my dismay, NOT ONE WORD was uttered to me in the 20 mins that I walked around looking at Gary’s beautiful work. My plan was to buy another piece of Gary’s art. But after having an experience like I did, I was beyond ticked and did not want to spend money with a store that did not value me as a potential customer. The only thing that I can think of is that the associates saw me wearing camo and thought he’s not a serious buyer. Who knows. I thought walking into the store that I would be leaving with more art; instead, I left the store empty handed with only disappointment and hurt.
