We commissioned Steven for our October 2014 wedding. From his portfolio, I could instantly tell he has a natural sense of what looks good and what doesn't, and how to work with lighting to make his subjects look beautiful. He also had some helpful tips for us in planning our wedding. I really appreciated his ability to photograph my husband, me, our friends and families naturally and with our unique personalities. He captured many great and special moments on our wedding day and was excellent and fun company along the way. He worked really hard during our 12 plus hour wedding day and captured so much of it in many pictures, which likely required numerous hours of editing. I appreciated the care and effort he took in editing so many pictures,which reflects his dedication, experience, and professionalism. He edits each picture manually, without use of automatic filters. On our engagement shoot, he had numerous creative ideas and the results were awesome. We liked how he really encouraged us to be ourselves, and helped us to over come "photo fright". I'm genuinely glad that Steven was available to be our photographer. He did a fantastic job and we're super pleased with the photos.

Steve was our wedding photographer and I must highly recommend him to anyone looking to ensure fantastic photos. Steve is easy to work with, friendly, smart and you can tell he loves his craft and will work and trudge through thicket backwards and upside-down if needed to get that magical shot you want or didn’t even know you wanted until you’ve seen it. All our pictures were marvelous and we couldn’t have been happier. Definitely look through his portfolio if you don’t believe me. 5/5 stars for sure.

When finding the right photographer to capture your event, one often selects the photographer based on his portfolio but that's only half of it. Being able to establish a great relationship is one of the most important things to consider when selecting a photographer for your event. You want a photographer that you're comfortable with and one that knows your personality well enough to capture you at your best. No awkward poses or artistic angles gone wrong. Steven was highly recommended by a good friend of mine. Steven's photo-journalistic style was exactly the look we wanted for our wedding photos. As hobbyist in photography, I had really high expectations and was nervous meeting him for the first time. After spending some time getting with Steven, the nervousness that my wife and I had felt quickly faded away. After sharing some ideas with Steven about our engagement shoot and wedding we came away confident that we had selected the right guy. The engagement shoot had given us the opportunity to work with Steven for the first time. This process is very important because it helps the photographer determine how to best work with you. Both my wife and I had some ideas for our engagement shoot and Steven was able to take those ideas and incorporate some additional styling of his own. He suggested some great venues for our shoot and was committed to working with us until we were satisfied. Our wedding day was nothing less than perfect. Those who've been through a wedding know that timing is very crucial. Steven and his assistant showed up early to capture our pre-wedding preparations. While working with our schedule of events, Steven worked efficiently and finished our photos with our friends and family so that we could actually partake in our cocktail hour. That almost never happens. Steven had also made sure give the right amount of attention the event and guests to help capture the moment. Our wedding night was such a blur I often look back on our pictures to reminisce. When I do, I'm immediately taken back to that special day. On and behind the scenes. I would definitely recommend Steven to all of our friends and family and look forward to working with him on future events.

Steven was referred to us by a friend for our last minute, whirlwind city hall wedding in New York. We had an unpredictable schedule as we weren't sure if our actual wedding day would be on the Friday or the Monday plus we wanted to get group photos with our friends in various NYC spots. Steven was incredibly flexible, super nice and easy to work with. Given our random schedule, we had decided to just do a few hours of shooting on the weekend but Steven insisted on getting to city hall early on Monday to capture our special moment despite having another engagement that morning. The result? Happiness. The shots were creative, professional and fun. We received them in a reasonable time frame and at a reasonable price. We would be happy to recommend Steven to friends and others.

Let me start by saying I am extremely camera shy and pretty much hate having my picture taken... so choosing a photographer was a daunting task. However, I've discovered as Steve told me the first time we met... it's because I haven't had my photo taken properly.. and when the right person knows how to capture you in your natural state... your can actually look good in a photo! The very first time we met up with Steve to discuss the possibility of him being our photographer, Steve made it a point to spend time getting to know us. His friendly, open personality, and his clear love for his craft, made it easy for us to trust him to capture our wedding day. On our wedding day, Steve was on time, professional, friendly, energetic, and extremely patient (we had lots of family requesting posed shots)... also he was really good with kids! I never needed to tell him where to be... he was just always present when we wanted photos taken and at other times taking pics of our guests (which was really important to me because we barely got to see what our guests were experiencing throughout the day). He gave us way more photos than other photographers would have. The photos really captured our whole wedding day and gave us details of the minute changes of expression in people's faces and body language that may have been missed if another photographer only gave us one or a handful of pics of each significant event that day. There was a good mix of photos capturing our guests enjoying the wedding day as well as some gorgeous artistic shots of us that blew us away! Steve, thanks for sharing our wedding with us and for capturing all of it with your creative eye!

as most of you shopping for wedding photographers at the moment know, this is quite a time consuming and arduous task. please use this review as an aid to easing your pain. We found Steven after many hours of online research and countless inquiries with medium to smaller sized institutions. Let's be real, no one wants to go through a big box photographer as there is less personality and too many canned photos. Steven was very responsive from the get-go. My wife and I didn't want to meet with more than 2 or 3 photographers and based on the quality of his published work and the responsiveness to our questions and emails we only met with Steven and one other photographer. I will say, we loved both photographers that we met with and each had their own special talent that set them apart from rest of the lot and from each other. Ultimately it came down to our gut instinct and we just both loved Steven's work with no hesitation and are very happy we went forward with him. Steven was very thorough in explaining his background and how he goes about editing his photos. We really appreciated the extra attention to detail that he puts in and that effort translates very easily in the final product. As most people are somewhat self conscious of themselves in pictures my wife and I honestly believed that our engagement photos were going to be terrible. We could not have been happier and pleasantly surprised with the results. The pictures were taken throughout SoHo, the Highline and in Washington Square. To the wedding: most photographers quoted us 4 hours of time and maybe 5. Steven was with us from the start of the day (9-10 AM) and shot photos through the end of the night at 10/11 PM. He was was the consummate professional the entire time. We just got our photos back and there was over 1500 photos! We were expecting maybe 400-500. We loved them all. No joke. It's cliche'd but the #1 piece of advice we got from others married before us was to make sure you get the photographer right. My advice to you is do the same. We got it right with Steven and we can't thank him enough for giving us a beautiful record of our wedding day. Take a look at his portfolio. You'll see what we saw and you'll have the same amount of regrets we did. None.

We found Steven through Yelp and we are so happy we did. From day one Steven was very attentive to our needs, what we wanted to get from our pictures, our wedding day. He seemed to understand what we are as a couple. His pictures are pretty amazing, we love them. He has a great artistic touch and is very creative. In addition, during the wedding Steven made sure to take pictures of everyone, he took pictures non-stop and we are happy we have everyone in our pcitures. Definitely recommend Steven for any event, be it wedding or anything else.

We had Steven take photographs of our rental property on Cape Cod (antique home which we have been restoring for 10 years) back in September (2014). We love the home and had taken what we thought were pretty good pictures over the years which we post on a couple rental property websites. After Steven sent us his pictures we downloaded them immediately to the sites. Our inquiries and bookings went up immediately and noticeably. We just booked our last week of summer about a month or two earlier than in the past after raising our prices this off season (my wife was unsure of doing so). We know for a fact that his pictures have helped us and it was so easy working with he and his wife Karen that we are thrilled with the deal! I chose Steven after a very long and drawn-out search for our City Hall wedding. After researching dozens of photographers, the choice was actually quite easy. Not only did we feel the quality of his portfolio was at least as good as anybody else's, but his quoted rate was very reasonable compared to the competition. Steven was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire experience, friendly, courteous, engaging, perceptive, and very hard working. He ended up over twice the number of pictures that I had initially guessed and even made multiple editing effects for some of the particularly memorable photos. On a rainy day and being inside, it was definitely a more limited and challenging environment to shoot for. Nevertheless, Steven exercised his creativity very well, and we ended up with a great variety of interesting photo opportunities. I felt he truly maximized the potential of the surroundings. Finally, for those who care about the quality of camera gear used, rest assured Steven came armed with absolutely world-class Leica and Canon setups. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed working with Steven, and couldn't have asked for more regarding the experience.

When I was merely at the research stage of looking for a photographer, Steve spent a ton of time discussing my brand with me, so when it was actually time to take photos for my company's blog, I knew exactly who to turn to. Steve "gets" my company. The entire shoot was a pleasure. He arrived early, never got uptight or impatient, and was completely collaborative about the creative process. Go with Steven! We loved having Steven at our wedding to capture the day. He is a wonderful photographer who really knows what he is doing. He loves photography and it shows in his work. We are so pleased with the final pictures! I loved that he was never pushy and didn't have an agenda. He let the day go naturally.
