Hello Aliyah Dastour! A merchant's offer to reschedule an appointment at the expense of the client's (customer's) valuable time is not only unprofessional; it is inconsiderate. The session AND photographer should be "as scheduled AND as expected" in the first place. Cheers! Disappointment. My advice: make sure that Aliyah doesn't substitute another photographer. My fiancee' is camera-shy and it was difficult for me to convince her to have a portrait made. I visited Aliyah (in her studio) and she was quite impressive. Aliyah patiently explained her work to me; showing me several head-shots and portraits from her portfolio. It was obvious to me that Aliyah is a very talented photographer. There was a brief tour of the studio as well as a discussion of the psychology (which is a part) of the photography session: music and topics of conversation to ease and relax her clients. We spoke of clothing, lighting and camera angles. I explained to Aliyah that my fiancee' preferred to be photographed from the right side. I impressed on Aliyah that we did not want a business "head-shot", I was looking for a softer look; a portrait that could be given to friends and family. I was reassured. Aliyah told me that after the session was finished her assistant would guide us through the photograph selection so that we could make our choice. THERE WAS NEVER ANY MENTION MADE OF ANOTHER PHOTOGRAPHER. After a great meeting, I was confident that Aliyah could do the job. My fiancee' scheduled the appointment for about a month later and had three different outfits dry-cleaned and ready. She also blocked off time from her hectic schedule for the Saturday morning photo-shoot. On that Saturday morning, I called Aliyah to remind her of our preferences (regarding camera angles and style of photography). I was quite surprised to hear (for the first time) that Aliyah would NOT be taking the pictures. I was quite concerned that the interview with Aliyah (a month prior) was a waste of time. Aliyah reassured me that Sandrine, the substitute photographer, was highly qualified and experienced, Aliyah had personally told Sandrine about my fiancee's preferred camera angles and our desire for a non-business portrait. In the middle of the photo selection, Sandrine said that "this one would look great" on a business card for my fiancee's clients. This statement shocked me. Obviously, Sandrine had NEVER been told that we were looking for a portrait and NOT a head-shot! After the session we learned that Sandrine had been at the studio for just a few months and all of the portfolio photos that I had reviewed were Aliyah's work; NOT Sandrine's. Sandrine is a very nice person. This was a classic "bait and switch". We expected Aliyah's excellent work, and we were quite disappointed. I paid several hundred dollars for this waste of time. Eventually, 'most' of the money was refunded.

That turned out to be the best advice anyone could have given us. She's captured the photos of well over 100 of our agents and every one of them looks awesome. Having a picture taken can be a stressful event for people but she puts everyone at ease. Her scheduling is great, too.

I'm not exactly a huge fan of sitting to have my photo taken. I once did a photoshoot that I was so uncomfortable that I couldn't remember how to cross my arms. My wife booked me this shoot and I showed up very nervous and assumed I was in for a day of awkwardness. This shoot was nothing like I've done before, it was fun, comftorableish, and the photos look great. I really appreciate how "real" the team is there, they are very good with people to the point you can actually relax and smile:-) will definitely be bringing my docs here to get some updated headshots, recommend them highly, especially to the apprehensive.

One thing that has surprised me since I got my photos a couple months ago now was how many websites on which I need to post them -- LinkedIn, my own site, my business email (not the account from which I'm posting now), a networking site for my industry. If I had it to do over, I would have followed Alimond's directions and brought more changes of clothing to produce a more versatile array of pictures for all the various sites.

I was not looking forward to my head shot until I arrived and was welcomed so warmly. I had such a great time. The makeup artist, Emily, was lovely and dear and relaxing and helpful, and everyone else was so easygoing and fun. They all made me feel like they really wanted to be there with and for me, and I was shocked at how well my head shots turned out. Aliyah is the best. She's beautiful but doesn't act like she knows it and was very helpful. Even though it was late on a snowy Saturday afternoon, she and her staff stayed with me and didn't rush me in my selection. They helped me choose my head shot but listened to what I liked as well. By Monday, I had my completed head shots made even prettier by Aliyah's "pixie dust" (how did my teeth photograph so WHITE?). I couldn't be more pleased, and I couldn't recommend Alimond Photography more highly. Go there. Just go there. You can get a cheaper head shot. This I know. But you cannot get a better value in a head shot, that is for sure.

I chose Alimond Photography for professional headshots because I wanted a photo that would stand out and make a positive first impression. I knew Aliyah was the perfect fit just by browsing her website. Investing in an experienced photographer is so important because in reality, people do judge a book by it's cover. Aliyah and I joked around like we had known each other for years. She had the Adele playlist rolling and was totally laid back. Natural sunlight shines right through her studio windows which is something that I loved. You just can't beat natural sunlight. I was a little bummed when the session was over because I wanted to keep playing. The proofs were emailed to me rather quickly. I had the hardest time narrowing down my options. Seriously wanted at least 30 of them. She even made the background a little darker (my request) for one of the final photos that I chose. Book your session with her!! You won't be disappointed with the outcome!!

Working in the TV biz we know lighting is everything. My favorite thing about Alimond is the natural light that beams through the studio windows. It is immaculate. I wanted to get a nice generational photo of my mom, me and my daughter and they came out amazing. The only problem.. too many good ones to choose from! The session was seamless. So easy. I wish I had gone to Alimond for my head shot in the very beginning! I wanted to save money so chose a photographer who was stopping by our office and doing a cheaper deal. The result was a slightly washed out photo with a background that was too dark. The colors were off, and I was in too much of a rush during the session to evaluate it. My new head shots have the most lovely light and feel so much more professional and true to my brand. The photographer was patient, personable, gave great advice, and made me feel so comfortable. Their studio is beautiful and has such a friendly feel, and their work is phenomenal. I couldn't be happier with the results!

Be aware that although Aliyah is the featured photographer on this studio's website, and the reviews below are based on her work, you may not actually have Aliyah as your photographer. We were very surprised that a different photographer was substituted for our session without notice. At no time during the initial meeting with Aliyah, or during the booking process, were we made aware of this possibility. We specifically selected this studio based on our review of Aliyah's portfolio, her experience, and positive reviews of her work. No explanation was offered of the other photographer's experience prior to starting as the studio assistant only 2 months before our shoot. No portfolio was offered of her work, and we were charged the same rates as if Aliyah did the shoot herself. Although the assistant was a lovely, sweet person, we were disappointed with the photos. You can't subcontract technical expertise and experience to others. The studio did give us a refund, but that doesn't entirely make up for the afternoon spent there. RESPONSE TO OWNER: This is a valid review. You indicated that you don't have any studio assistants, but I would direct you to your own Facebook post on 2-10-2017 at 6:45 pm which identified an assistant as a 2nd photographer who only joined your firm in 2017. The clip has been disabled now, but there was no indication of any prior experience when I viewed it in March. Again, I think you do lovely work, just that you should be more transparent regarding the experience level of other photographers who may be substituted in your place.

The studio itself is perfect for still photos, with great natural lighting supplemented by well-placed lights and bounce surfaces. My appointment was for one hour, but I ended up staying longer (my choice) to go through the MANY pictures that were taken. They have a great process for selections of what you like that is comprehensive, but not overwhelming. In short: if you need a professional photo you really don't need to look beyond Alimond.

The studio itself is perfect for still photos, with great natural lighting supplemented by well-placed lights and bounce surfaces. My appointment was for one hour, but I ended up staying longer (my choice) to go through the MANY pictures that were taken. They have a great process for selections of what you like that is comprehensive, but not overwhelming. In short: if you need a professional photo you really don't need to look beyond Alimond.

We no longer use strip mall "photographers" for our family portraits. I guess I never understood how much BETTER a great photographer like Aliyah is before we had that first photoshoot. She took my professional headshot in a restaurant, next to a window... and it is by far the best picture I've EVER had of myself. With our family pictures, she is awesome with the kids. I came into the studio extremely nervous as I hadn't had very good results with sessions in the past with other photographers, mostly I feel due to the fact that photographers sometime lack the ability to make their subjects feel comfortable, and frankly don't have an eye for their job.
