Always enjoy the exhibits at Carri Bass' Studio. Her photography on display is wonderful and her portraiture of brides in unexpected settings is especially warm and evocative. On the fourth Friday of each month her studio showcases 1 or 2 local artists with a reception. Then their work is available for viewing and purchase throughout the month until the next fourth Friday. Plus Carri is an avid adventure traveler who captures the most interesting images from around the world, well off the beaten path. She is a must follow on social media!

With our son graduating high school, I contacted Carri to do a shoot for graduation announcements. I warned Carri from the beginning that Reece was going to be a tough cookie to crack. Like most teenagers, smiling for the camera isn’t “cool”. Carri assured me that she would get a smile out of him. The day of photos, Carri was so wonderful to work with. Being the bonusMom I am, first click of the camera I told Reece to smile. Carri laughed and said “I got this” and boy did she ever. I stayed behind and let her work her magic and make Reece feel more comfortable. After seeing the proofs, I was one proud bonusmom and beyond happy with all of the photos Carri took. Not only did Carri get a smile out of my “too cool for school” kid, She also got him to come out of his shell and talk, laugh and have fun with a shoot I nearly had to bribe him to do. Carri has an artistic gift for seeing things others miss, she is technically sound, and most importantly, has a personality that instantly sets others at ease. She has endless patience when photographing children and people who do not normally enjoy being photographed. These skills come together to create perfect, memorable photographs of weddings, family portraits, children, and even landscapes. I would recommend her services to anyone without hesitation. She is simply the best.

When Carri enters your life, either professionally or simply as your friend, that experience will gift you with many pleasant and gratifying memories. She is truly a remarkable woman whose artistic abilities flow freely, often granting the viewer with a wondrous surprise! Carri naturally exudes self- confidence, and appropriately so, as she has earned the reputation of being a skilled and patient artist. She certainly needed both qualities as she won the attention and trust of our two well-loved dogs, and did so with enthusiasm AND patience. The results of this brief trek to our home were received with joy and deep gratitude, as Carri whole-heartedly captured the true essence of our two fur-babies. These delightful photographs, seen by us daily, become more and more valuable treasures to us, for as our "boys" are aging, we too are. Carri also remains a treasured confidant, and deserves the title of one of my valued Angel Friends! Kudos to the uniquely talented Carri, as she has indeed won the hearts and respect of the citizens of TRYON. I feel we are very fortunate in knowing that she is a sensational ambassador for our small but art savvy town.
