We had our whole family together for the first time in about a decade, so getting some updated family portraits was very important to us, and we researched a number of photographers. We chose SWP to do our family photos based on the excellent Google+ and Yelp reviews. The reviews were spot-on. William was great with the small children and knew how to get the sweetest smiles from everybody. Our photos are genuinely candid shots in a professional studio. That's the best of both worlds. Will is not only an amazing photographer, but he runs his business with a kind of professionalism that both takes your worries away and excites you about the possibilities of your event. My husband and I saw Will's work after browsing for photographers in Albuquerque, and we were amazed at his talent for capturing candid, yet beautiful and flattering photos. We honestly didn't think we could afford such a photographer, seeing as we were on a tight budget, but he worked with our limited resources and was easily able to capture our big day with the same high quality standards he holds for couples who spend loads of money on photography. One thing my husband and I most appreciated was his calming personality. Where we were frazzled, he was level headed. Where we were stressed, he was comforting. With his suggestions about best times for lighting, he really helped us plan out the sequence of events for the big day. During the ceremony and reception, we rarely saw him, but when we got our pictures back, we found that he had captured every moment and every nuance that my husband and I missed! Will is worth every penny and I recommend him to all couples who are looking for a photographer who listens to your visions and provides you with exactly what you were hoping for!

Professional, dependable, creative, reliable, reasonable, definitely needs to be reasonable. These are a few things you hope for when looking for a photographer for hire especially a wedding photographer. Will of Sweet William are all these things if not more. He was also thoughtful, responsive, helpful and gracious. As many couples before us, we did our due diligence, researching and meeting with all the vendors we hoped to eventually would be part of our "dream team" for the day. Will was one of the many we had to meet with and discuss all of our hopes and dreams at least as bride and groom! Thank goodness he was patient and easy going which made from our initial meeting to the big day smooth sailings all the way through. When we first met with Will, we didn't feel rushed or that we were asking the same questions he had probably already heard a thousand times. Our wedding was scheduled to be quite the early start with a break in between and Will worked with us to split his contracted time into two parts of the day. Anyone that has worked in any industry that requires to be on your feet and work split shifts will appreciate what it takes to literally be up for 12+ plus hours which is what literally Will probably had to do. Our pictures came out stunning, sharp and full of captured moments. To put into perspective of the great work Will and his assistant do, there wasn't a moment during the ceremony or reception that I realized they were there yet they captured so many moments that we've been able to look back on and relive through the photographs. We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed working with Will and his keen eye for photography. We learned early on that the catering and photography were going to be one of our biggest expenses. With that in mind we had set our budget and hoped for the best. We were very lucky that we found Will because he is one of the best. His prices were reasonable, fair and package options worked well for the budget we had set. More importantly than that, he delivers and delivers beautifully! Thank you again Will!

He was professional and timely throughout the planning process, and on the wedding day he was early to the event and very willing to work with all our needs. If I could give more stars... My husband and I live in California, and recently got married in Albuquerque, New Mexico (my home town). I was planning this wedding not only in 6 months but also long-distance, so finding a photographer was a little tricky considering I couldn’t meet with anyone face to face. I spoke to several photographers/companies over the phone that didn’t seem to fit, before I spoke with Will, he was extremely knowledgeable and kind. An easy choice from the rest. When it came to scheduling, Will was easy to communicate with and very quick to get back to me promptly. He was open to specific shots that I wanted done (first look, sunset, etc) and was very knowledgeable about how we should go about scheduling them. On my wedding day I was a ball of nerves. Will was very calm and easy-going; he was able to set my mind at ease and provided clear direction while he took pictures. To say Will did an amazing job shooting our wedding would be an understatement! The pictures, our album, and our video were perfect! - More beautiful than we had imagined they could be. You can tell how passionate he is about capturing special moments - his true artistry - moments, most of which you didn’t even know happened. If you hire Will, expect more than a handful of great shots. Expect to be overwhelmed with many beautiful choices. My husband and I were to pick 60-80 shots for our album, which seemed impossible because Will had so many great shots (definitely more than 80); it was extremely difficult to narrow it down but he worked with us so we could have a little more in our album. (ya'll, it was hard to pick shots to add to this review! and of course you can see our video on his website!) After our wedding, my only regret is that my husband and I didn’t get a chance to have our engagement photos done with him. I would absolutely recommend him! If you don’t hire Will you’d be doing yourself a disservice.

A leap of faith.. Being from the Fort Worth/Dallas area we were nervous about hiring an out-of state photographer for our wedding day in Ruidoso, NM. After a lot of research and several phone calls I decided that Will was the one for us. I couldn’t have been more pleased with our photos and choice. Will had a professional and warm demeanor, and made both my husband and I feel comfortable the entire event. He was a shadow capturing memories that only he could capture. I am over the moon happy with my wedding photos! My husband and I had a destination wedding in the Cerillos Mountains, so when we set out to find a photographer we knew we needed someone familiar with the landscape, beauty, and vibe of New Mexico. We are from Houston, so a snowy December wedding in the Land of Enchantment, where we met, was our dream. We took on the tedious task of narrowing down photographers on the interwebs and ended up comparing between two or three. Honestly, I can't even remember the names of the others and it is no matter, because Sweet William fit us perfectly. Because of the distance, we had to figure a lot of stuff out over the phone and through email, and Will was always very helpful and patient. Since we were so far away, he was willing to meet up with us the day before our wedding to do our "engagement" shoot, just to get to know us before the big day. We walked all over the quaint little downtown of Albuquerque and found that it was easy to get along with Will. He was right on time the day of the big party and ready to work. Because we got to spend time with him the day before, he figured out our good sides ;) and even found the key to keeping our 9month old ring bearer smiling at the camera. When I saw the photos I was in tears for obvious reasons, but also because of how well Will was able to uniquely capture our personalities. I loved that he got the must have wedding photos, but he also included the little and silly candid moments. He definitely told our story from start to finish. One of my favorite things is that he captured the most unique photo of our ceremony and I can say I have never seen another wedding photo from the same angle. Because he was familiar with our venue, he knew just where to set up. He found out the day of that we had decided to do the ceremony on the grand staircase inside the Hacienda, instead of out in the courtyard because it was too cold, and adapted quickly. He captured our "you may now kiss the bride" photo from the balcony directly above us, so it provided us with a photo unlike any other first kiss photo. The angle truly captured the intimacy of that special moment, I will cherish it always. He also got the most adorable pictures of our flower girl and ring bearers during the ceremony and just playing in the snow. AND, Will was happy to oblige us when we asked if he could wrangle all our guest for one big family picture when we were doing our after ceremony family pictures. Yep, we have an amazing picture of our entire wedding, with everyone together in one picture, priceless!!! We also had a Led Zepplin Cover Band and Will managed to show both sides of our wedding, the traditional mushy stuff, and the epic party. When it came time to narrow down our photos to include in the book, Will was sooooooo patient with my indecisiveness. I think it took me over 6 months to decide and I ended up asking to upgrade because I just couldn't choose, the story was so good that I needed as many as possible in the book. He was happy to help, he never rushed me, and gave me a good deal on the upgrade. Our photo book is the most gorgeous wedding book I have ever seen!!!!!! He expertly arranged each spread exactly how I remember the day going. As I flip through it, I almost feel like i'm watching a movie. Will captured the life of our special day in a story of pictures. And to top it all off, the book arrived in the mail on my birthday!!!! I hands down recommend using Sweet William if you want your special day to remain special throughout history in a beautiful photo story. The next time we return to New Mexico for a special event, we'll definitely but using them again.

Aesthetic Perfection by Sweet William! I don’t know how else to explain or detail the fury of excitement and elated reactions caused by William of Sweet William Photography. Incredible…doesn’t even come close! He blew my husband’s and my imagination away with his talent. Our wedding pictures were absolutely awesome. Upon mercy, he sent us a few that he had readily available and immediately I could not wait to see the rest. These were by far the best I have ever seen (even without having seen the rest of our pics yet)! I loved how he framed us with a fountain nearby and the background greenery and the light and an archway….they were just amazing. Some of the candid shots, which I really wanted, were done so well, you would think they were staged, as who could be at the right time and the right place all the time??? Will was. The aesthetic art his keen eye has with backgrounds, and mirrors, and fading out backgrounds, or using the background and blurring other parts of the picture, were nothing short of stellar vision and imagination. William, your talent is incredible. I cannot say enough. My husband made a comment that he thought our pictures were, "…indeed 'movie star' quality. And I don't mean the subject, but indeed the photographer." And he was very much right. I must admit that I had such an awesomely great and talented team of wedding people that I really didn't want to tell anyone my 'secrets' and hence didn't want anyone else's wedding and especially pictures to be as perfect and fairytale quality as ours turned out, (I know that's awfully selfish of me...hee hee..) but at the same time, I cannot, in good conscience, keep the rest of the world from such talent. Thank you Will for your incredible talent. I couldn't be happier!!!

Excellent professionalism and an eye for the artistic. I went to Sweet William to update my acting resume headshots after moving to New Mexico. I'd been recommended to his services after hearing from a few others who'd worked with him before and been pleased with the results. The shots he took for me were excellent and I was blown away by not only his dedication to taking the time to make sure we got the various looks I needed for my work, but also with how quickly he was able to turn around the shoot. Within hours I had edited digital copies and a release to print them, something that in my past experience has always taken several days if not weeks to receive. I found the prices to be very fair, especially since we were able to use his own studio as my backdrop, something normally not provided by lower level photographers. I've had great feedback as well within my industry of the shots he's taken for me and I will definitely be back to work with him again once I need to update my look, or honestly for anything else where a professional with a passion for their work is needed.

I owe Will a very very over due review of all his services, talent, patience and time he has provided to my husband and myself. We initially were booking Will for our engagement photos only as we were getting married in Southwest Florida, Marco Island to be exact. After a meet and greet he offered us a quote for traveling and doing the wedding as well. After comparing travel and board plus the photography we calculated Will to be way more reasonable than any vendor in SW Florida. So financially we were sold but we wanted to see how his photos and of course personality matched with ours. From the moment we saw him interact with our dog, which we had at our engagement photos we knew he was the one! He was so easy to get along with which in my opinion is very important. You spend at least 75% of your wedding with the photographer or near and around him. All of our photos from the engagement photos in various breweries, Elena Gallegos Park,down to the beach in Florida were absolutely gorgeous. All were in different times of day, various lighting and venues and he honestly showed his talent and photography knowledge by executing perfect images every time. Our wedding size was roughly 60 peoplewhich Will covered alone. Our priority was getting photos of my husband and less so of family. We also had a sun setting time constrain which Will handled very well getting us many shots in the 45 minutes we had. Lastly I have to add how patient he is with all the action, drama and hectic schedule of a wedding day. I had a bridesmaid that was less than cooperative and Will was always respectful and courteous to kindly put the interest of my husband and I first. I’m not sure other photographers would be able to handle this in the manner that he did. He helped capture such an important moment in my husband’s and I’s life for that we thank him so very much.
