EDIT: Peter, the owner of this company has left a reply and I feel it’s important to acknowledge his point. Yes, it has almost been two years since I hired him, same as the other reviews I have left. However, every single time I think of our wedding I get super upset about this, and so I decided to finally write a review.
I hired Peter Clayman to be the wedding photographer for our wedding. Every element of our experience was negative and so I feel I must share with future brides.
Two weeks before our wedding, Peter did his pre-wedding call, where he informed us he was sending a different photographer out. I had no idea that using other photographers was part of his business when we hired him but he insisted he mentioned it (that’s not something a bride who pays $3300 forgets).
When I asked Peter to see samples of the new person’s work, thinking it might not be a big deal, he did a sales technique called “going negative” on me. He told me he thought I wasn’t going to be happy and that we should just end our deal then — umm, my wedding is in two weeks and I won’t have a photographer. Also, he said he’d send a second shooter at no cost. Once again, that was part of our original contract of $3,300.
Anyhow, the quality of his other guy was poor. He was a photographer but for newspapers, and so the skills don’t necessarily translate. He not take the extra step to make sure our photos were posed naturally, nor did he use the correct ISO (I have a photographer in our immediate family) so many of our photos came out grainy. So bad, we never got photo albums developed, posted online, they sit in a folder on Dropbox collecting digital dust.
He takes three months to send you your photos which is fine, but when he finally did, he accidentally sent us the throwaways instead of the right photos. I had to email him several times to take a second look, to which he realized they weren’t the right photos and had zero touch-ups.
Peter was horrible to work with and the experience was wedding-ruining. I’d give him zero stars if it let me.
