We used Melissa Koren for our Reunion pictures in Ogunquit, ME and we were not disappointed. She was so easy to get in touch with and work with. The best part was that the photographs she took of our family were outstanding. We started off with a rainy day and Melissa quickly rearranged her schedule to give us a later start date to do her shoot. We couldn't have been more pleased with the outdoor photos. We were a family of 8 adults and 9 children and Melissa took charge and got us all done with great results. I would highly recommend her for any photo needs you might have.

I will admit I spend a LOT of time hunting for a photographer, even prior to our engagement. I want to find someone friendly, and who did family portraits as well as wedding. I do love looking at the moody, preset filtered photos by those fancy adventure wedding folks but for my real life - and real walls - I want a photographer who’s style is real, who’s a joy to be around, and who I can grow my family with. I want the same lovely human taking shots of us - engagement, wedding, maternity, baby and family - so the style of photos on the wall match AND so I can feel comfortable inviting that person into my life in such an intimate way. Melissa is definitely that person for me and my fiancé. She set me entirely at ease when she spoke to me on the phone - the day AFTER I emailed her initially. We set up a phone call that very evening. I booked her for our engagement photos after talking to my fiancé and we had a wonderful time on our engagement shoot. Melissa was absolutely down with us bringing our boat, walking on the beach we got engaged on, and crawling around all the weird spots needed to get a good shot. She also set my completely camera shy fiancé at ease and we had an absolute blast laughing and kissing and couldn’t stop smiling. AND OUR PHOTOS!! We love them so much, as does everyone who has seen them. We booked her for our elopement as soon as we set a date! I am excited to be spending my intimate day with her and my beloved. And know all our pictures - of my elopement, and the family we build (cause we are planning babies!), will all be wonderful. And that reassurance is huge. I feel like I booked a photographer and got a family friend.

Melissa is amazing! I'm not at all comfortable in front of a camera. My face is very expressive, and photos usually catch me and my face in a contorted moment of excitement or surprise or any one of the hundred emotions a human goes through, arms flailing, eyes looking anywhere but at the camera. Some people see a camera and know how to stop and pose to take a picture that captures their best self. I am not one of those people. When Melissa came to my home (and workspace) to do a branding shoot, I was so nervous! Melissa not only takes great photos, but she is so good at helping people around her feel comfortable and good about themselves. She had the ability to help you grow your confidence just by casually talking to you, and it's impossible to be nervous or unsure around her. I had no idea what to do during our branding shoot, but Melissa came with ideas and direction, and guided me through the whole process. Overall, I loved my branding session experience and look forward to working with her again.
