He recently shot my cousins wedding in Chicago and actually laid on the floor to capture a moment of the little flower girl. Allen sees the world through a unique perspective and has the ability to transform an ordinary scene into something spectacular. Allen Luke is not only an exceptional photographer, but also a great human being. He is in India, photographing the beautiful children and families in our mission. For 30 years, we could not get good quality pictures that showed our Indian people in their natural setting. Within 30 minutes, Allen was wildly successful in capturing their beauty, and their stories. Allen tirelessly jumped up on chairs and crawled on the floor, getting the perfect photo angles while engaging the people who don’t speak English with his kind smiles, his humor, and his nonverbal skills. Not only does he photograph these kids—he become their champion. He photographed and posted a picture of two darling girls with a curable eye condition and within hours, 20 of his friends offered to help her with medical expenses. We are overwhelmed that such a great photographer and person has chosen to help us tell the stories of these desperately poor children in India. Luke Studios did a phenomenal job on my twin daughter's portrait session. I cannot reccomend this photographer highly enough. Allen was personable with my two girls and connected with them in a way to get portraits that communicated their unique personalities. As an artist, I am constantly photographing my work. After attempting to capture my artwork in photographs for business purposes on my own, I quickly realized what a challenge it is! My wife and I had our wedding at the end of 2011, and in preparation for the big day we had every intention of interviewing multiple photographers in person. Our first meeting was with Allen, and he did a tremendous job of going through his experience, what makes his photos unique, and the professional and personal touch he puts into each wedding he works for. After meeting Allen, we knew we did not need to interview anyone else because he answered our questions directly and was very professional. The value he brought to the meeting was tremendous. In the weeks leading to the wedding, Allen and I communicated regularly about our needs and anything on his mind for preparation. He even scouted the wedding venue and took time to identify nice spots for picture taking around Saint Paul. The big day arrived and Allen was calm and in control of the situation. Luke Studios is much more than a photographer; artist would be a better fit. I had the opportunity to assist in a couple weddings with Allen Luke and he does not just take pictures, he creates spectacular images. Whether this is due to his knowledge of lighting, positioning of the wedding party, angle shots, or a combination of all, Allen takes what most would call a picture and transforms it to become almost 3 dimensional and things just pop! Allen also captures things that you would not ordinarily see in wedding photos, I was amazed at some of the pictures he wanted to capture and I thought to myself, why in the world would you take a picture of that? Well, once the reception started Allen threw out a few teasers, barely edited, and placed them as a slide show on his laptop for the guests to see, and WOW, I was floored at how these unique pictures turned out.
