Not giving a one star because the pictures were at least ok. Not great, just... ok.
Provided little effective direction during the session.
Charged $250 to use her backyard, which didn't function as a deposit towards any final purchases.
My family has worked with several photographers over the years and while everyone has a different way of presenting their product, I found hers to be the most demeaning and was focused more on high pressure sales tactics than creating a happy repeat customer.
The pictures were curated prior to our viewing them, preventing us from selecting the pictures most to our taste. I greatly prefer access to a digital preview so I can pick out the ones I'd like to see edited or just "raw"; independently and at my leisure.
Required an in person sales meeting to review the images she'd selected and edited then expected hundreds of dollars for small format pictures and thousands for large formats, neither with access to the digital pictures other than by request, which are stored on a computer that looked like it was on its last legs.
Given my preference for digital pictures; which enable mutliple storage locations in case of disaster, the ability to shop around for prints appropriate for our lifestyle and space availability, and flexible display mediums, the frankly dismissive pricing document she provided after the fact for digital copies was outrageous. The bill was $318 for two files.
Two. Not twenty, not two hundred. Two. So total bill was $568 for two pictures.
I paid $1500 for over a hundred expertly edited and beautifully composed wedding and engagement pictures over two sessions that are all over my house because I adore them.
I paid $3500 for 85 boudoir pictures that changed how I look at my spouse. That included a hand made Italian leather book with unbelievablly high quality paper, access to every digital file from the shoot, exclusive rights to the photos, and discretion by the manufacturers.
And to add insult to injury she waited a month to cash our check causing an overdraft two days after Christmas.
So. Merry friggin Christmas to us.
