The staff is very friendly here. They always immediately ask if they can help you find anything specific and are willing to let you test out equipment in store to get a feel for what you are buying. The prices on cameras and lenses are pretty standard, but the accessories are priced a bit higher. That being said, the owner has notified me of a price match guarantee where he will match any online price for any item. Pretty impressive really as I know it's difficult for smaller stores to keep up with larger online retailers. My only complaint is the stocking. The website will say in stock, but that is based off their main location so make sure you call before you make the trip if you're looking for something specific as they may not have it in store. It's happened to me three times now with a lens, macro focusing rail, and a tripod. I research to decide which item I want before purchasing, but then they end up trying to sell me something else because they don't have it in stock and I end up unsatisfied with the purchase. They offer to ship from their other stores and it only takes 1-2 days, but it's still a bit frustrating. I'll call in the future to avoid the frustration though. This is a pretty minor complaint really. Full disclosure: I originally wrote a 2 star review for this based off of pricing and stock availability, but the owner contacted me via email and cleared up my complaints on the pricing with his price match guarantee. Very impressive and it adds to the already stellar customer service.

Didn't even know this store existed. I was resorting to best buy for camera needs. Happened to find this online and stopped in to the store to find a 50mm lens for my canon. They had it in stock for a good price, they were very knowledgeable with everything we spoke about. I ended up going back the next day to buy a monopod and they shipped it from their other store to my house at no extra charge. Great people HIGHLY recommend !

I'm seeing the comment about Paul and I gotta say, I think that's bogus because when I asked one of the staff for a film camera with a light meter needle, they said they didn't think they had it and then there's Paul who finds one for me. Paul is very helpful and really cool as well as all the staff there. Great store. The only complaint I have is that the store is not bigger and they don't sell more camera items but they sell plenty of items. Great store, great service!

Hunt's Photo and Video is by far the greatest camera store ever! They have a great inventory and very fair prices. The staff are hands down the most friendly and helpful of any store I have ever been in. They go out of their way from the moment you walk in to make sure that you will be happy when you walk out. When my Canon printer that I had brought from Hunt's broke, they talked me through possible issues and gave me a Canon operator number to call and try to fix it. When this failed to work, I brought the test print back to the store, and explained the problem that I was experiencing. By the end of the day, they had given me a new printer and ink to replace the old one, even though it was out of warranty. This is next level customer service that you will not find in any other store. Hunt's Photo and Video is the go-to place for anyone looking to buy a camera, lenses, printer, film, or accessories for their photography and video in the area. Shop small and support a great business and we all win!

I was without photography for about a year after some personal tragic incidents.. It was just recently that I had an opportunity to get back into it.. That is where store owner Scott Farber directed me to Eric and his staff up in Manchester, NH.. Eric Arnold went above and beyond to find and get everything I once had at a price unmatched anywhere else. I must have called or emailed Eric a dozen times, but he took it in stride and helped me get back to what I love doing best, and that is taking pictures. I will forever be grateful for what Hunt's Photo & Camera store did for me. I feel like a part of the family, and not just a number.. I can't say enough good things about my experience here. I really needed to find an expert to help me choose the best lens for taking amateur sport photos for my son's lacrosse and football teams. I hit the jackpot with Angus. I ended up buying 2 new lenses and a great bag all at more than competitive prices! Before I went in, I was prepared to "pay a little more" for the value of an expert who could answer all my questions; and I did want to support a local business. Out of curiosity, I checked prices at Best Buy and Amazon afterward to see how much more I paid and was super happy and surprised that I paid about 10% LESS at Hunts! I don't know how they do that, but I will not buy camera equipment anywhere else from now on, even if it were to cost a few more bucks. Bonus; they took my other lenses and bag that I don't use any more in trade for a lot more than I could get at a yard sale or posting on line. Excellent experience.

I don't write a ton of reviews, but this shop is worth it! I had camera issues recently while on a trip to Boston and found them online and went in. I have a pretty old digital slr that had a corrupt CF card after a night where I took well over 600 photos. I was quite anxious about my camera not working on holiday, and they were very helpful, patient and very into their jobs - meaning they seemed to be obviously doing a job they were passionate about. They helped me with a new CF card, figured out how to clean my sensor (which was not easy to figure out on the old slr and required 30 second intervals), gave me info on how to download SanDisk rescue Pro and polished up my old camera. I am running the program now and while they told me they weren't certain I would recover the lost data, it was a pretty good shot. Either way, if I recover the photos, the polished up new CF card slr is working in tip top shape and they were so great there! I left feeling great and cannot recommend them highly enough!!!!! I had an old cardboard, disposable camera that was in Operation Desert Storm with me. It then spent the next 25 years filled with sand, in the bottom of a duffel bag, in an attic that was usually over 100 degrees in the summer and freezing in the winter. They couldn't save all the pictures but went above and beyond to save what they could. Incredible job!

He knew the requirements for the UK Visa application, took the photos, cut them to the correct measurements, and had me out the door within 15 minutes. I was honestly surprised by how excellent the customer service was here from all the employees. It was a huge help for me in the midst of a pretty stressful afternoon. If you need a camera or photography supplies, this is the place to go. It's one of the only places in RI that sells darkroom supplies (the RISD store does as well). I stopped in a few weeks ago to buy a camera during my lunch break. I stood around waiting for help, I was not welcomed or acknowledged and finally I had to politely interrupt and ask if there was anyone else around who could help me and that's when I was finally acknowledged and told someone else would be back in a while to help. After over 30 minutes of waiting someone helped me. He didn't know anything about long zoom cameras, he couldn't answer any of my questions, but he said he could tell me more about other cameras that I had no interest in. I tried a camera for a minute or two before the battery died, he didn't offer any help and had no idea how it worked. When asked about another battery he told me maybe he could find one down stairs but it would take another 10-15 minutes, but he wasn't hopeful. So even though they had the camera I had hoped to buy (and did buy from another seller) I left there very frustrated and disappointed, it was a huge waste of time and I came away with nothing. Apparently they were in the process of moving, but that's no excuse for such poor customer service. Worst camera buying experience ever.

I came in with a few rolls of film, both color and B&W, to send them off to be processed and put unto CDs. I was told the rotal was to around $220, which is pretty good for the number of rolls I was having sent away, and having them all put unto CDs. A few week later, I picked them up only to have my total near $350, full of extra fees that no one told me about. I wouldn't have gotten my negatives back if I didn't pay for everything, so I had to pay nearly $130 over what was promised me and the negatives are not that much better than if I got them done at CVS. If you want to have moderate processing done at a ridiculous price, here's your place.

I couldn’t be happier with how I am greeted on the phone as well as at the entrance and how I am treated by their staff. Most recently, I took my camera to Hunt's for a spot on the sensor. Harper, who is just awesome, gave me a thorough tutorial on cleaning the sensor with my own products so I don't have to keep running back and forth having them clean it, which has happened several times after swapping lenses repeatedly in the field. So, I have a story. I went in there to buy several thousand dollars worth of camera gear. They had made so many sales lately because of deals they were out of stock on the one I wanted, but the salesman offered me the display one as a temporary solution until they replenish. He said buy this one for now and I'll call you when we have the new boxes one in stock. Also, that he would set it aside for me. Two weeks went by but, no call. So I called a few times and they dodged my calls. Finally, almost at 3 weeks, I called and said do you have "x" camera in stock. They said yes. I went in and did an exchange without telling the original salesman. I got a new one fresh from the box. I was concerned that I would exceed the return exchange date. I was nervous about getting stuck with a full price floor model. The salesman may have planned to stay true to his word, but I was more concerned with getting the exchange completed before the receipt expiration. In the end it's me I have to worry about. I know they were busy because of some Sony deals going on, but it's times like that when customers often slip through the cracks. More communication would have eased my mind throughout the process. After writing this review, I received two emails and a phone call from the salesman and managers over at Hunts. I will say they have been apologetic and have worked to rectify the incident. I already have gotten my exchange, so I am good, but I do appreciate that they did that. In other instances they have been very polite and helpful. I haven't had any other issues with them, so I can say that much. I'd like to see that when customers make large purchases like I did, that they communicate more, provide more details, and a better exchange/return policy to protect the consumer in specific instances like this. At the time and for a while after I was quite frustrated, but it's good to hear they wanted to resolve it.

Hunt's is absolutely phenomenal. I like the Manchester NH branch even more than the main store in Massachusetts, even though it is smaller. It's a well run store that doesn't try to up-sell or pressure you into any kind of purchase. It really boils down to the entire staff there being people whose judgment I would really trust when making expensive equipment purchases. I've found gear I am really happy with here and they're fun to talk photography with. The NH photography community is lucky to have them.

I am from out of town but I come to Manchester every now and again with different shows and HUNT’S PHOTO & VIDEO is on my map now. So.. I am off to try out my new lens.

Good customer service is so hard to find. If you need anything to do with your camera or to purchase one, go to Hunt’s Photo. I couldn’t be happier with how I am greeted on the phone as well as at the entrance and how I am treated by their staff. Most recently, I took my camera to Hunt's for a spot on the sensor. Harper, who is just awesome, gave me a thorough tutorial on cleaning the sensor with my own products so I don't have to keep running back and forth having them clean it, which has happened several times after swapping lenses repeatedly in the field. I now feel more confident doing this myself after Harper's 101 lesson! So thanks for that! Also, definitely take one of their photography classes. DO THIS!!!! They're great. :-)

I research stuff extensively online, but what you learn by actually trying the camera yourself can't be beat.
