Terrible! The better option is to find an independent photographer and meet them at their studio or a location you choose. We arrived for our 12:15 appointment at 12:05. We were told there was a 10-15 minute wait time. Nearly 1.5 hours later we were told it was our turn. Unacceptable! All the people waiting to have pictures taken were families. Why would a business that deals with such a clientele have a wait time over 1 hour??? 2, 3, 4 and 5 year olds aren't built for that. Talk less of babies who are only cooperative for short periods of time. On top of being inefficient, the staff is rude. The big girl who seems bothered by any and every question's gotta go. Can't work with people when you have no desire to be helpful. And the small dude who flat out lied to each family as they walked in about the wait time. Completely unprofessional. I also don't understand how they allow a change of clothes but sopposedly the session only lasts 15 minutes. We were rushed when the family before and after us seemed to be in the session for at least 30 minutes. To make matters worse, the photographer took one picture per pose whether it was a good one or not and moved on. You're not paying for a skilled photographer, here it is clearly just for the background and space. How is it that the lighting used is the same for all people. Light, dark, in between. Against the same backgrounds. It makes no sense! A real photographer would know to adjust for different complexion. Especially, when blatantly obvious. Clearly, the whole session is overpriced because it delivers subpar pictures. $10 per person $ 99 for digital copies of your below average quality pictures (with discount). I can't imagine paying full price When we left at 4:30, it was clear this was more tasking than we planned for and completely because the staff is lacking.

Had to cancel our appointment prior to shooting our two year old’s birthday pictures and family photos because they changed their policy on the day of the shoot and said we could not have any clothing changes (as we had requested when we scheduled) Be careful when you deal with this group and plan on not getting what you ask for. JC Penny has lost this customer forever. Hope they can survive Amazon with this lack of customer service

Just Awful. Can only choose one background, photographers only take one picture per pose, poses were awkward and to top it off, they don't print the pictures at the store, you have to wait 13 days for pickup or shell out more money to have it shipped. Will never come back to this studio.

Jcpenney portraits are basically liars. The coupons aren't what they say they are. They try to upsale on subpar work. DONT GO THERE SAVE YOUR MONEY!

This is the second time I take family pictures there.. and let me tell you is not going to be the last time, I love this place and the girls are so nice, patience and funny. Great Job! :)

I had a wonderful experience with Stephanie. She took my headshots and was an absolute pleasure to work with. You get your digital versions via email within the next hour! Very reasonable prices in my opinion. Highly recommend this location, and Stephanie!

We had to wait 30 mintues even though we had scheduled an appointment.Our photographer wasn't very professional.She didn't even bother to tell us when someone closed their eyes in the pictures.She would say "perfect" every time she took a picture.we felt rushed.Overall wouldn't recommend.

Not happy at all. Had an appointment but didnt get pictures taken till 1 1/2 hours later. Was rushed thru my session. Only 12 pics taken maybe 2 were good.

This is the worst place ever to go get your pictures, I went there June, 29 2018 and I still don't have access to my pictures online. Scott, the manager only tells me he's going to talk to the IT department and nothing has been done yet!!!!! So far I dislike this place. Never again ill go back!

We have been here twice. Once during the holiday season last year.Had to wait long though had booked an appointment. They were very rude and rushing to get the session done. Not patient with my son at all. Second visit some young guy took pics. I don't think he even knows how to take a pic. Very worst experience. Will never go there again and would not recommend going there.

I was hesitant about going to this studio at first due to the negative reviews (but it was from years ago!) so I went ahead and gave it a shot. I called in at 10:30 am to ask if there was an available opening today and he fit me in at 12. I got there at 11:40 and because the customer before me had cancelled-I got to change my daughter right away and got the shooting done! We were in and out in less than 45 min-I had such a pleasant experience and the pictures came out amazing! The photographer, Kebede was the best I've ever had!! He was nice, experienced, funny, full of humor and made my daughter giggle and laugh throughout the whole photo shoot! And that's the reason why the pictures came out amazing! He is so good-from beginning to end! I will definitely be back!!

My experience over the phone with Samantha was horrible. She's not well trained and needs to learn how to speak properly and educated. Definitely, this will not be the place that I will choose to have our family picture taken. She's not a good representation for this place.

My 18 month old was in a cranky mood to get our photos taken for our first session at this location but Alicia was very patient with him and tried to do everything possible to make him happy. The photos ended up coming out great and my husband and I are very satisfied with our experience.

Went to have our daughter 2nd Birthday photos. They were great with my daughter and she had a smile the whole time. Got some great photos and they had new props. Would definitely recommend

We had the worst possible experience on our JC Penney photo session. It was my youngest daughter's 1st birthday so I scheduled our appointment for 10:30 am (right after they opened) so we would be one of the first and not have to wait so she would still be happy in the photos. We arrived at 10:15 and waited until 11:30 before being pulled back for our turn. When we finally got pulled back I asked them why we had to wait so long and they told me that when they book full, then they add an hour at the beginning and end of the day. So even though when I scheduled the appointment I was 2nd of 3rd of the day, they added a bunch of people in front of us and ruined my daughters 1st birthday pics. After this long wait my baby was very disgruntled and we were not able to get one single photo of her smiling. So finally I accept that and say we are done torturing her trying to make her take photos. The JcPenney representative offered is 1 free sheet of prints for our inconvence. Then when I went 2 weeks later to go pick up my daughters photos, her arm was almost cut off and she was off centered. I asked them to please edit the photo that i would like it centered and the woman told me she couldn't. I then said well i would like a refund for this one sheet then, and she also told me she couldn't. I then tried to call and complain to the corporate office and the local store and was never able to get someone on the phone. I see why JcPenny is struggling. You can get a deal if you purchase a groupon but you get what you pay for. I for one will definately never take photos as JcPenney again.

These people are outrageous 10 minutes for a photo shoot? And when I ask about backgrounds for changing outfits they do not have answer. By the way the female attendant SAMANTHA it a b****!! She had an immediate attitude and is unprofessional to the max. Clearly you should not book an appointment here. Also she claims she doesn’t work here even though there at past reviews about her.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the worst service ever. I called to let this guy know that I would be arriving 10min late because of traffic, he said he didn’t care and that he could only wait 5min after 7pm. I told him to wait 10min for me and I when I got there with daughter at 7:07pm he was like “I have closed already I told you I could only wait 5min. I drove from DC because it was my daughters 1st birthday and I wanted to do a photoshoot with the cake. He again told me he didn’t care he had the worst attitude and said he was the owner of the place and that he can do what ever he wanted to do. What kind of business owner is that. This was today, Monday July 15th 2019. I am never visiting again.

Went to take Christmas photos as we do every year and our experience was not good this time around. We were rushed, we weren't having any fun so of course my kids were not happy, and it showed in the pictures. It became frustrating and we didn't purchase any of the photos, we just used our groupon for the Christmas cards and I'm disappointed in even sending those out. My wife is pretty upset with how these turned out, she had been looking forward to taking our Christmas photos for a while now.

NOT a great experience. They didn't really try to make the baby smile and they weren't very friendly. Our appointment was the last appointment scheduled for the day. We felt rushed as we were reviewing the pictures, as the manager started shutting down the facility while we were still there! A few of the pictures were decent, but my bra strap was showing! You would think this would be something the photographer would notice and mention.

Brittany Brittany Brittany ! All we can say is find Brittany when you book a session ! She is such an amazing individual and a true professional when it comes to her work. She waited patiently throughout the session and guided us for the perfect pose ! My experience here was terrible. The customer service was terrible. The woman helping us spent an hour making and trying to sell us sheets I had said multiple times I did not want. Then she didn't even order all the sheets that I did want. It was just awful, too upsetting to even write it all. This was baby's first Christmas photos and it was awful. When I spoke to the manager when I went to pick up the photos, he didn't even ask for the employees name so I know he wasn't going to do anything. And I still don't have all of the prints I needed for Christmas. It was awful, don't waste your money here.

Don't waste your time or money unless you like getting treated like crap. I can't believe how rude the photographer was. It turned something I was really looking forward to into the worst customer service experience of my life. Please let my awful experience prevent you from making the same mistake.

Where do I start?! This place is BY FAR the most horrendous place I’ve ever been to get my daughters photos. Not only was the wait forever, but the very idiotic photographer canceled my order instead of placing it, causing my photos to take a month to get to me. When I called asking about the photos, scott the very rude and moody manager refused to help me unless I presented a 2 week old receipt (mind you it was a Groupon order so why would I keep a receipt that totaled zero dollars). Thankfully, my daughters nana purchased an additional sheet and they were able to track her receipt through the system. I had to go over the manager of the photo dept and talk to the store manager Bianca, who thankfully was very helpful. Nonetheless a month later and I have finally received my photos. Left in such a rut, they ended up giving me a 20 dollar gift card and three free sheets of paper at my next photo shoot, but to be honest I don’t see myself ever going there again. To Scott the manager- For future reference, don’t argue with the customer idiot!

The absolute worst most unprofessional portrait studio I have ever visited. We waited 25 min. for the one and only person in the studio to finish working with the customer before us and two other customers while we sat there. We were then told we would have to reschedule our family of 5 photo because it was time to close! WHAT?!?!?

Went in today, spur of the moment. The A/C was broken, so it was a tad miserable with a hot sleepy 2 month old but Nate was so patient and I was plesently surprised how well he done with her she done very well and I do believe it was because of him and we got some great shots and some good deals through groupon!

I purchased a groupon deal for my 3 month old. We had a 10:00 appointment and we were literally in and out! Bedebe was our photographer, and he was amazing. He was very interactive and engaging trying to get the baby to smile. He was full of energy. Reading all of the comments on yelp and google. I was a little hesistant about this location, but in the end it turned out great. Very happy with how the pictures turned out.

I was looking to save money for a business head shot so I trusted JCPenny. Let me tell you this is the worst $80 I ever spent. First off I had a set appointment, but still had to wait 30 minutes for the studio to become available. The picture was taken by a young 20 something kid, who did not seem to know what he was doing, needless to say my headshot came out awful, (overexposed) the worst picture that was ever taken of me, that exposed all of my worst flaws. The manager Scott, knew I was unhappy but did not offer a retake or refund. Stay away if you don't want to be ripped off.

I took my 6 year old into the studio this weekend. We've always received great service and photos from this location. However, this last visit was far beyond my expectations. Our photographer Alicia went above and beyond to help us capture a ton of great memories. She took a ton of time with us and explained all the photo packages and helped to ensure we got the best value for our money. Alicia was amazing. Whatever you do, hold onto her!! She made the experience.
