Loved the Magic tree and ligh display. As for actually doing business with them, they leave much to be desired. I ordered team pictures online with select background and edits. Did not receive my pictures to begin with and then when I did they were not what I ordered. I found it quite difficult to get in touch with anyone to rectify the problem. 2 months after the season ended (and we had already returned all equipment) we were told they could not fix the pictures without retaking them as they needed to be on a green screen. We did not have access to the equipment any longer so that wasn't an option. No offer of refund for the extra that I paid for the options that I chose and did not receive. Will not do business with them again. Pretty tree though, I will take my own pictures though thanks!

The pictures I received were terrible. The background was so blurred out that the picture of my son looked extremely odd. It looked like a very bad photoshop picture. I had to schedule a call for the next day to speak with customer service and when I did they had lost all my information that I emailed to them. I was told to send all the photos I have back to them with a note stating what new background I wanted and they would send me a new set. No additional information was given. Apparently the background was supposed to look extremely blurry and terrible. The customer service was awful and I didn't not get a clear address to send my pictures back. I can't find a correct address anywhere online. Very disappointed with this company.

The worst. The photos of my children looked like they were taken post mortem. The online chat assistance barely works, you have to wait for an email. So the communication takes DAYS. Then I got a partial refund after returning the horrible photos. Had to wait AGAIN for assistance to figure out the rest of the refund: they withheld funds for the classroom photo which they haven't even printed yet. So I have to return those when I get them and include a note requesting a postage refund as well. It's the WORST EXPERIENCE with photos and customer service I've ever encountered. Save your money and get photos done by professionals, not this circus.

What did I like about it? Absolutely nothing. My daughter was sick on picture day. I had already ordered her portrait package online and the company charged my account. She had her pictures done on retake day but about a week later I received an email that she could not be located in the school records, except they had her listed under a school I'd never heard of. I emailed the company and never got a response. I received her envelope today and they sent me NO pictures and told me I still needed to order them. I ALREADY ORDERED AND PAID FOR THEM!!! Now I have to schedule a call that won't happen for days! Unhappy customer to say the least. Very unprofessional of a company to never respond to an inquiry then have very limited ways for a customer to reach them!!!

We use them for our Elementary School, the treat you like royalty to get you! As soon as they have you, you are no longer a priority on their schedule. On the days of the pictures (1st go, retakes, class, club) the photographer was late. As far as the quality of pictures, yearbook and the customer service of making a yearbook--100%.

I have no idea why our school chose them. Very bad background selection, only a few outdoor ones that were okay. I bought a package anyway, in which there was no flexibility unless you paid for each background and package separate. When I got the pictures they were very blurry, low quality. They chose to use an awkward take out of 3 which my daughter says were better. I wil never buy from them again.

Terrific customer service! I am a new president of our Elementary School and inherited a large financial issue. We mailed 2 packages of checks for our yearbooks this past spring. 1 package never made it to Inter-State Studios. First contact with Tammy Amos was pleasant, she took ownership of my issue and said I'll research this and call you back a couple days. The art of conversation is a lost skill, there is never a reason to yell or spread frustration when you need someone to help you. We just talked! True to her word she called me back, to let me know their Finance department was still making a decision. We spoke again 1 week later and she informed me the issue had been resolved and that we should stop getting an invoice for the missing amount. Words can't express the relief I had. Our budget as PTO is super tight! So THANK YOU!! From Ridge Circle PTO and the parents [who don't know what you did for them]. Keep up the Great Customer Service!

These are horrible. I feel so disappointed in my child's picture. They are way out of focus, her shirt is falling off one shoulder, there is something on her face that we can't figure out what it is, her hair is a wreck and so on. Normally these things would be fixed before the pic was taken. She didn't look that disheveled when I dropped her off and I was told that the pics were taken first thing. So what happened? These things would take less than a minute to fix, but no. Plus it looks like the light is coming up from way above which casts horrible shadows on the face. Can bearly see her eyes from the shadows her glasses are making. You need to adjust the lighting with different ages. Then you can't just make your own packages. I had to wait for the retake sheet to come out so I could order just the 5x7 I wanted and then PAY FOR SHIPPING! I was glad when the school switched from Life Touch. Then I read the reviews of this company and cringed. I was expecting to be disappointed, but this is just ridiculous. Ya can't call yourself a professional photographer people, because that, you are NOT!!! I really hope the school doesn't use your company next year.

Can I give less than one star? Really unhappy parent here. We had photos and retakes taken last fall and are still waiting for prints (October, now January). Think we'll get my daughters photos while she's still in first grade? Thanks for responding 2 years later. My daughter is now in third grade.

Just got the pictures of Nathans Jr year. I'm 63 years old so I have seen a lot of school pictures and these are the worst ones i have ever seen by far. I can't believe that we have to pay for something like this. If my work was done this poorly I would not be able to ever get a job.

Inter-State is the portrait company school that my kids school uses for their yearly pictures. The pictures are more expensive than the previous company and the pictures that they have brought home for the last two years have been dark and their faces look shiny. Not happy about this.

I work at a head start center. I am very upset about the fact that none of you guys have gotten a hold of me. I have parents down my throat about how they ordered certain packages from you guys and they did not receive them! I scheduled a time for you guys to call me, and that was at 2:30p, it is now 2:43p. Ridiculous that you can't just call and talk to someone. Spelled my daughters name wrong and I was already disliking Inter-State because when my daughter had switched preschools she never got her pictures. The women said she would call me back after she spoke to her supervisor about getting them to me. Finally when I called back they had deleted them apparently so I couldn't get the pictures anymore. They didn't offer any type of discount or anything for THEIR mistake.

I'm not sure why it's too much to ask to have most, if not all, of the students looking at the camera. The past couple class pictures have been horribly off center, half the kids weren't even looking, my son's eyes were closed, one girl had her head buried, one boy was mid yawn... no one can be bothered to adjust clothing or posture for individual pics, or even attempt to have him smile genuinely (my son is very cooperative). I understand it's difficult to get all the pictures done in a timely matter, and class pics can be like herding cats, but even a small amount of effort would've made a big difference.

the photographer skipped over my son on school picture day and i had dressed him up so nice that day and I didn't dress him for retakes because I thought they could do their job. now it's either crummy photo or no photo and they are blaming his preschool teacher! the principal said my son was there and ready for his picture and they failed to do so and now they won't do anything about it. the principal also said they mixed up several kids' names and had wrong pictures sent to families.

We ordered a picture package for my son's last year of elementary. The order was lost. However, once I reached out to the email provided by the school, Josh was professional and prompt about restoring the order and getting it to us quickly. No replacement fee. No waiting for email or call back. Josh was great at getting this corrected and we are so grateful! Thank you!

I am irritated that you cant immediately speak to a representative about your order! You only sent me half of my order! Where is my ceramic coffee mug? I paid for it and I don't have it. If you dont send it at least give me a refund for that item.

This company does my daughters school pictures. The start of the year and spring pictures. I have been disappointed both times now. They don’t bother to get your child to smile or even fix their hair a when it’s out of place. I am all about pictures and it’s disappointing to see such lazy photographers.

They took my son's pictures for football and after I had paid, they sent me an email saying they couldn't find his picture! So after several emails back and forth they tell me they didn't have an individual picture for him! I stood there and watched them take the picture and write down my son's name and team name! Absolutely unprofessional!

The second star is only based on my son's first photo being fine because he's a ham. My daughter, however, is shy and had her face downcast so it was covered in a shadow. Her bangs were messy and she looked like she was smiling under duress. It's 2015 yet it took 3 weeks to get the photos. She had re-takes and we waited almost another 3 weeks to receive a proof with a bunch of advertising on it about purchasing additional photos. I already purchased a package and should have simply received replacements. Now I'm waiting two days for phone call to get what I already paid for. What horribly run business.

Customer Service is very difficult to get a hold of. The call back feature is less than optimal. Most functions loops to a single person's desk who doesn't pick up the phone and voice mail states to request a call back using the website.

1. Not everyone wants a class picture or the tiny sharing pictures, but they are a part of all the packages. I don't like having to pay for things I don't want. The schools previous company had "build your own" packages, better prices, you could get a different background for each page at no extra cost. 2. A professional should make sure ties are straight and hair isn't in the face and casting a shadow on their face. A 2 second fix.

This is my daughters first year of school. I was excited to order her pictures but the entire experience has been a huge headache! When we got her first set of pictures we were very disappointed! She wasn't looking at the camera or smiling. She was looking off to the side. You are supposed to be a professional photography company. Get the child's attention before you take a picture of them. I emailed them and they told me to send everything back in the packet at picture retakes and we would get everything with the new picture. So we did picture retakes and I asked her teacher help since the company cant seem to do their JOB! TWO months latter... the picture turned out great but we didn't get all the things we paid for with the the first set of pictures. I paid for four things and only received one and that one thing wasn't even right! ugh... never again will i pay for anything but the rights to the pictures from this company because apparently its too hard to give someone what they paid for?

Pre-Paid for our order as recommended. Picture day was a joke, thank goodness my child is older and has had a lot of photos and knows how to pose. But that wasn't the biggest problem, they claimed we never ordered. We pre-paid and they sure accepted our money. Then I was given 3 different excuses by 3 people why our photos didn't show up. After waiting more than the 7 day business days I was told to wait to get the new photos I contacted them again to be told I didn't order anything. I again produced the confirmation email, it was then blamed on the school that the "package" was sent out. I asked them to please hold while I conferenced in the school. Suddenly that wasn't necessary and they could just go ahead and add my download (which was all I ordered in the first place) to my account. Any school thinking about using them please save your families the trouble. We have also made a formal request to our school to find a different company. The more parents I speak with at our school the more I have found out they had similar problems.

Impossible to talk to anyone. All the children in my kids school received their pictures I ordered a CD and didn’t get it. Missed the scheduled phone call and called right back only to find out I’d have to schedule a different time for them to call me. I hope my child’s school never uses this company again!

I have an elementary age child and a graduating High School senior.... Inter-State was the studio for both schools and they inflated the senior year pictures, for the same packages. Insane increase! Senior year is expensive enough.

2 years in a row my pictures packages have not been correct. When I call, it's almost impossible to reach a person to talk too. Then after getting everything corrected, I had to pay shipping to get the pictures.

I was trained by Interstate Studios for three hours. The Contra Costa territory manager showed up with half of her equipment. Consequently, we only used one strobe instead of a pair. Their transceiver did not work so I had to get a PC flash cord out of my car. Without my gear, the shoot would have been a bust. Just because a woman talks nice to the teachers does not mean that she is capable of photographing students, much less bring the gear necessary to do it.

I have never had an issue with our children’s photos until this year. I submitted an online claim for my sons photo and within 24 hours, I received a response from a rep who was more than happy to help me. She submitted my sons photo for corrections and less than 7 days turn around time, the new package is being mailed to my home. Great customer service and policy practices by this company. Thank you!

Extreamly unprofessional for a professional photography studio. Unorganized and zero communication between them, to the school,to the parents. I had the same issues last year I'm having this year plus a couple new ones. We shall see if they actually return my calls this year unlike last year.

Pictures were good, however, I paid for a blemish on my daughter's face (she had a small scar) to be removed and when I got the pictures it was still there. When I called they said it was only for acne and they didn't do photoshopping. I told them that it was already paid for and asked what options we had. I was told I could send it back to them (at my expense) and they would PHOTOSHOP the scar. If that was an option, why wasn't it done in the first place? Why was I told earlier in the conversation that they don't do photoshopping? I wanted the memories of my daughter's photos, but unless this is resolved in a better fashion, I won't use them in the future. It was a small amount paid, but you expect to get what you pay for.

Awful customer service. If you don't order the day before picture day you are screwed. To make things even better, when you call customer service you are directed to a form online for a call-back, which didn't have any "urgent" time options. I hope I never have to deal with them again. I should get my child's photos free for all the trouble!!!!

The schools that my son has attended always use Inter-State Studio and i have been pleased with every order that i have received thus far. He is always smiling and looking directly at the camera. They had picture day this week so i am very excited to see the new school picture for this year! I order the biggest packet of pictures and have not been disappointed. I also highly recommend purchasing the magnets! Thank you Inter-State Studio for doing a great job!

These people are the absolute worst. The complete lack of ethics is astounding. They and the school have been told twice to date that my child is NOT to be to be photographed in the spring and have been informed of my union of how unethical it is to photograph people's children and send home theprinted pictures to use their own children as a money grab to try to make parents buy pictures twice a year. They have ignored my explicit forbidding of photographing my child for any reason in the spring and that I forbid then from using my child in any kind of advertising with pictures they were told not to take. I will be checking with the local police and looking into how to file a report against them and also filling a report against them with better business bureau.

Pictures are terrible quality. It was for a sports team, they didn't even bother cropping the background so all the poles are showing that hold up the backdrop... its like they didn't even try. The individual photo of my daughter looks like a floating face because her uniform, hair, and background all look like one dark mess. The buttons we bought are beyond terrible looking, and dented up... weirdest crop on the buttons... Argh! I paid almost 50 bucks... big thumbs down. Wish I could give zero stars. They should be embarrassed.

They have done our hometown's school photos, yearbooks and most of the sports event photos all throughout school and still do today. You can always count on them to capture those moments so you never miss out on them.

Every year I have the same issues with my daughters school pictures. Her hair always looks crazy and she has a forced smile. Is the photographer the only one there?!? Why isn't there an assistant to help make sure the kids hair is straight? We spend a lot of money on school pictures and it seems to get worse and worse every year. I didn't even send her for retakes. Last year the retakes were just as bad as the originals.

They are the worst photo photography. They do not make sure your kids are picture ready. I mean my kid had just finished lunch and had a little bit of it on her face and they didn't clean her mouth off.just took the picture. I was pissed! I paid all this money for messed up pictures. Did retakes on 11/30/18, its been over a month and still have not received my pictures, as they claim I was suppose to have them back before Christmas. They referred me to my son's school, however still to this day the school has not received the pictures back. It has now been over a month!

We ordered a class picture... #1: it was only supposed to be $15, we sent $20 and never got change #2: the quality and lighting is subpar. The image is very dark, amateur work, no lights or flash illuminating the background- so the kids blend in to the background. My smartphone could have balanced lighting better. I hope Garland ISD selects another vendor for their photo needs- we will surely let the principal know how poor quality the work was.

Our school decided to go with Inter-State instead of Lifetouch ... BIG MISTAKE!!!! I dread every time my children get their photos taken by this company! Do you actually hire actual photographers, or do qualifications for this kind of job only require the skills to be able to push a button? I am very dissatisfied in the lack of professionalism this company has! I want to know how they actually train their staff when it comes to positioning the child right, etc. Multiple times my photos have came back and needed to be edited or retaken. I have called customer service numerous times about editing the photos because of the photographer's mistake, not mine! I made the last mistake which was purchasing with this company last night, only to be charged 3x without consent. I went ahead and order the photos regardless because my daughter really wanted them. Now I am going to be waiting weeks if I even get my full refund from this company. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY! AWFUL SERVICE!!!!!!!

I wrote a $12 check to them 11/13/2015. I forgot that this check hadn't cleared yet, and I closed the bank account on 12/03/2015 with this outstanding check. On 12/23/2015 we received a letter from a debt collector stating that we owe $37. Okay, fine - my mistake, I'll pay you a $25 fee because you can't process payments in a timely manner. I then attempt to pay the debt collector online through some 3rd party of a 3rd party's pay site, and they want to charge me a $13 fee to pay online... I now get why people with debt are so reluctant to pay debt collectors. I hold Inter-State Studio & Publishing Co. accountable for failing to contact me directly to resolve this matter, and not properly vetting their debt collection services. I have nearly perfect credit, and should this company chip away at that, I will make it my mission to ensure that they lose the Palm Beach County School District contract.

For the past 3 years both my daughters would get their pictures done. whether it be their school pictures or their class pictures this company would cash my checks, but some how manages to only send one of my kids photos each year for each time they had pictures done and forget to send the other child's set of pictures. So that's twice a year for 3 years they would forget one of my kids pictures. Yes they would send them when I contacted them but for a professional studio to do this twice a year 3 years in a row is unacceptable!! Also I have a special needs child and I always forewarn them not to ask her to say cheese or anything like that because it distorts her face, just tell her to smile and they still do it anyways and then we have to do retakes with me having to be there to help her. I can't always be there to help her and her teacher is busy with other students and I feel that they are professionals and they should be able to get it right. Also their customer service needs work, they aren't the friendliest people and getting to them is a joke. I honestly don't know how they stay in business with all the complaints and tonight at our school meeting their were more parents complaining about them and missing pictures that were paid for. They need to get their act together, saying I'm sorry for things that keep continually happening doesn't make it ok.

I have never had this bad of an experience with a "Professional Photographer" in my life. I ordered my child's school pictures through his preschool, who unfortunately chose this company to photograph the children. The ordering process was not at all declared or communicated with the staff at this preschool, much less the parents. They sent out a flyer with an detachable order form and envelope and I sent my order and check in with it on the day pictures where to be taken. The company cashed my check and weeks went by and we hadn't received our photos and the preschool had not heard from the company regarding them yet. A few more weeks went by, so I finally called the company. I had to leave a message with a staff member and my call was not returned. Another week or so went by, so I called again. On the phone I was told that I was not supposed to send in a check with that order, that those pictures were to be ordered online. I was then informed that there were two sets of photos shot the day the pictures were taken at the preschool. So the check I sent in and that the company already cashed were paying for photos that I was completley uninformed were going to be taken. The two sets of photos consisted of the students in their graduation caps and gowns and then regular individual studio photos of the children were also to be taken. Total confusion. Chaos. Crap. And then.... literally months went by. (I ordered and paid for them in April - checks cashed and everything) and I did not receive photos until SEPTEMBER. Five months. I FINALLY received the photos tonight from the director of the preschool and the "order" is all f@#*&ed up. I got one complete order of the "graduation" photos, that were surprisingly correct. I also received two random a$$ photos of the whole class that I did not order and were not even an option on that online order form. But, I AM MISSING A WHOLE ENTIRE ORDER. I placed the order, paid for the order, the money cleared the bank and everything. That is 14 total individual photos of my child that I paid for FIVE months ago and did not, and probably will not ever, receive. In that 5 months, my child has started Kindergarten. We will have the pathetic photos we received on the walls and distributed to our family members for less than a month before we get his actual school pictures. To top it off, the individual photos of our child that we ordered, but did not receive, we spent the time to pick out the "style option", customized "name options", and paid $5 extra for "enhancement options" and did not EVEN RECEIVE THE D$%N package. Point is... company is junk. Your wasting your time and money. If your a business, do not put YOUR customers in this position, it makes you look bad too. You are not saving money choosing this company, the picutres are not any cheaper than most local photography businesses, and you have to deal with so much crap. NOT WORTH IT. I just hope this "business" AT LEAST corrects the freakin order or gives me my money back. We will see. Based on thier previous patterns of behavior, not likely. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY.

Terrible Yearbook software missing basic functionality like "Undo" and copy and paste shortcuts. Intuitive. Still uses Adobe Flash. Crashes. A lot. Live chat is great when it's live. It's practically never live.
