Ryan was amazing to work with! He did my daughter's senior pictures and was so professional yet lots of fun. He made it all about her but made her so comfortable that she forgot she doesn't like to have her picture taken. He really brought out the best and made us feel like family. Finished product was so fabulous! I would have him photograph for us anytime!

Ryan has been photographing us since we got engaged in 2017! For our engagement he worked to find the best place for lighting, to make sure we would have stunning pictures that we would love. My husband and I have used Ryan Damman Photography for our son's high school graduation photos (2016), our daughter's high school graduation photos (2018) and just recently our family photos. Ryan takes amazing senior photographs. He is easy to get along with and relates well to the teenagers. He builds a quick rapport with them which allows them to relax and take their best photos. We shot our family photos inside because it was last minute planning on our part and freezing outside on the day they were done - although we did sneak a few quick ones in outside. Ryan's studio is beautiful, clean, easy to get to and although I prefer outside locations, he did a wonderful job with the studio pictures as well. Ryan communicates with you from start to finish, takes amazing pictures, creates beautiful and priceless albums and photo boards and best of all his prices are very reasonable. I wish I could give Ryan Damman Photography a million stars + 1. We used Ryan for our daughters senior photographer. Ryan is a natural artist whose work and style reflects his professional knowledge of setting up a scene, focusing on the attributes of the subject, and the skills utilizing natural lighting, shadows, and the physical location to make a great shot. He just doesn't point and shoot and hopes he gets a workable shot. I so respect his style as a result. We also found Ryan to be open to suggestions. Remember when I pulled the milkweed out of the regular weeds so the fluffiness of the milkweed seeds floated around? Our daughter had a great time with Ryan and quickly grew to like him as if he was one of her uncles, kidding around with her as a kid sister. We purchased the package that had two sessions. We couldn't be happier and its reflecting in the approval from our family and friends. In time, we know we will look back at the photographs Ryan took this fall. We will not only notice the beauty that he captured of our daughter's senior moment but the genuine skill and personality that Ryan applied to make it all a perfect reflection of a special time. There aren't enough positive things we can say about our experience with Ryan; 5 stars is definitely not sufficient. Ryan was prompt with his communication, he is very familiar with downtown Des Moines and had great ideas of locations to shoot -- he also was aware of the time the sunset to get great images with the lighting. He made us feel extremely comfortable by asking us lots of questions and sharing stories from his own life. I think his pricing structure is great because you aren't forced to spend hundreds of dollars if you are looking for great quality and reasonable purchase options. Ryan would show us some of the pictures during the shoot, which heightened our excitement and engagement in the session. We had also requested an atypical session: maternity and engagement all in one and he was happy to accommodate.

Every bride dreams of having the perfect wedding day, and having those memories captured beautifully. Ryan Damman truly made our wedding dreams come true! After shooting my sister AND brother’s weddings in 2016/2017, Ryan was one of the first calls we made during our planning (after the venue, literally!) Ryan made me feel so confident and beautiful as a bride, made our wedding party have fun doing photos, and really captured all the moments we could’ve asked for! As a solo shooter, he is always on the move, suggesting great ideas while capturing the natural essence of the day. He produced SO MANY AMAZING PHOTOS, that we still can’t believe how many we have to choose from! We are so very thankful for Ryan, to say the least, and could not recommend him more to any couple or family looking to work with an experienced, kind, talented photographer.
