Alan is an awesome tour guide!! Not only does he give photo tips to all k evils of photographers, he knows the history and local stories about each location. He worked with me on using ND filters for ocean shots, which I hadn't even thought about asking. Amazing and we'll worth the money. He gave me tons of tips of where else to shoot during my visit. U won't regret it!!

Best Tour on Oahu!!! Great tour with only 4 other people. We circled the island and went to locations not crowded with other tourists. Fun day with Marie helping me with my camera settings. Nice lunch spot at a food truck on the north shore. I’ll do the Sunrise tour next time. Highly recommend this photo tour.

I was just looking at some pictures I took during a recent trip and had to sit down and write this review. I had been intending to write it for several months. Last October two friends and I took a trip to Oahu. We had never been before. As one of my friends was into photography, and as we knew nothing about the island, we thought it would be fun to take the Blue Hawaii Photo Tour. It was fabulous! Marie arrived right on time in a clean, spacious white van. She took us all over the island, sharing stories about Oahu and the Hawaiian culture, recommending places to go and fun things to do. And we learned so much about our cameras and iPhones! We were impressed that she could patiently teach the neophytes (me included) and, at the same time, share expert tips with the professionals in our group. And we got some wonderful pictures. My favorite stop was the visit to a beach where Marie volunteers as part of a group protecting the giant sea turtles. We were fortunate that one of her big friends had crawled up on the beach to sun. What a treat to be so close to someone you had only seen in pictures. Marie's photo tour was definitely the highlight of our visit to Oahu. I highly recommend it!

Took a photo tour with Marie about a month ago, was a great experience overall. Learned a ton more about Hawaii than I ever thought I would by going on a photo tour. Marie had a great road map lined up and since it was only me and one other couple we were really able to go and see some amazing spots. Definitely would recommend her to others looking to get away from Waikiki or wanting to learn more about photos or even just see the island. Thanks for the awesome trip, 5/5.

Blue Hawaii Photo Tours provided a terrific experience with their Island Tour. The price was very reasonable for the length of time and overall experience of the photo tour. Marie had pre-selected some of the best locations on the island, most of which had virtually no tourists. This tour shows you the real side of Oahu, not the commercialized strip of hotels and restaurants on Waikiki. She was very knowledgable of each location, helped with camera settings and composition, and taught me a few additional pointers I would never had thought of otherwise. Sweeping sea cliff vistas, isolated beaches, hidden waterfalls, ancient Hawaiian ruins, turtles basking on the beach, and a lot more is what you'll find on this tour. I couldn't be happier with my experience and have come away with some great photos I would not have had the chance to get without Marie's help.

I went on a tour and was not too impressed. I didn't get much help with learning how to use my camera to get the best shot. We went to beautiful places but the tour guide was boring she seemed peppy but didn't keep me awake enough for such an early tour. I Took another tour that week with another company and the guy had us all laughing and learning the whole time. It felt like I was with a friend and not with my mom.

Wow! Such an amazing tour. I'm local living on Oahu but I have a new camera that I wanted to learn to use before taking it to Paris next month! I learned so much and got some great photos from places I usually don't ever go to. I'm now excited to use my new camera and to create the travel wall I've always wanted to do. Marie is so knowledgeable so you learn and have fun all at the same time. Oh! and she really knows the history of the islands its always so good to be reminded how Oahu got created and the things that came about here. This is truly worth your time. Don't miss it!! My wife and I selected the private 8 hr photo tour in Maui. Our guide was Ally. Prior to our meeting, she called and asked us what we were most interested in photographing. She wanted to tailor the tour for us. She was courteous, patient and professional. After developing a list, Ally delivered by taking us to the locations. She helped my wife with her camera settings and we came away with some outstanding photos. More importantly, we came away with great memories. We booked a sunset tour on Oahu but unfortunately it had to be cancelled due to heavy rains. The company refunded us before I even asked. The personal touch from the booking process to the end was outstanding. I highly recommend this company and Ally!

If you want a guide to show you a lot of the amazing things to see and do on Oahu....look no further. Marie offers a plethora of photo tour options and hands on photography tips, be it a high dollar camera or a cell phone, my wife did the cell phone and learned some cool stuff and I lugged around a Rebel T3i and thoroughly enjoyed our adventure. We got to see a lot of beautiful places and Marie was full of historical facts. Most tours consist of 5 to 8 people, no small children...older big ones like me are acceptable. The sunrise plus island tour was spectacular and the group of shutterbugs we travelled with were extremely friendly. Every tour is different due to weather, the time of year, etc. We got to take pics of a giant green sea turtle that was basking in the sunlight on...Turtle beach. We took a phot tour from another company last year and it was very good, but this was our favorite....good job Marie, thanks for showing us Oahu. Another part of the tour I really liked was stopping at a food trailer park on North Shore...can you say garlic shrimp? There were lots of trucks...foodie paradise. Marie needs to do a foodie tour...sign us up!

Not what I expected nor what I was promised. I teach photography at a local community college back home and wanted someone to take me to the most scenic locations at the times the light was best. That didn't happen. If you're a novice with a point & shoot camera, this tour may be for you, but anyone with any experience in taking landscape photos should look elsewhere.

Really felt like family except we knew where to go, what to see, and how to capture it in memorable photos. Horrible experience, the owner lies about the whole thing on private tours & resell the spots for additional price. Had the kids up early @5am to go for this trip & end up with huge disappointments on them. The driver was yelling at them right in front the hotel lobby! Very unprofessional! Not recommended!!!

I did a sunrise tour with Marie and it did not disappoint! We covered the east side of the island, stopping at Sandy Beach for our sunrise photo-op. Afterwards we got caught in a bit of rain, but that didn't stop Marie from making the day memorable. She gave us a brief history lesson on the islands as we cruised through Waimanalo and into Kailua where we stopped for breakfast and a quick tutorial on post production editing with an iPhone. On the trip back down the east side we explored a sacred landmark with native trees and plants, viewed the island from the Pali lookout, and stopped for pictures along a tree canopied road. This is a great tour for photographers of all levels or for people looking to venture away from the tourist attractions. It's not necessary to be a professional photographer to enjoy this tour. I used an iPhone for my photos and I was really pleased with the outcome. Mahalo Marie!

Wow! The best way to see the island and learn photography! Marie is an expert photographer, gracious instructor, thoughtful person, and wonderful coach. I saw some of the finest photo spots in Oahu during our tour. I'm taking my friends and family next time they are in town. I saw Marie work with people who had smart phones (only) and with DSLRs and teach them all about how to take better pictures.

An excellent experience! Money well spent! I booked the sunset tour with Blue Hawaii Photo Tours, and Marie met me at my condo where I was staying on Waikiki. She picked me up asked a few questions about what I was looking to accomplish on the tour from a photography experience. We immediately set out to various locations that I would not have been able to have found or known about. I came away with excellent photos and a great story to tell. Whether you are shooting with an iPhone or a DSLR, you will NOT be disappointed!
