I am not a fan of being in front of the camera, but I recently decided to have some maternity photos taken. At 39 weeks pregnant and feeling like a whale, I wasn't at all excited to be in front of the camera. Picture day rolled around, and I was grumpy and hot and not at all thrilled, and honestly, wanted to call off the session then and there, but David encouraged me to go for it anyway, so I did. We arrived on site for the pictures, and David greeted us with a smile, and immediately took me from uncomfortable to relaxed, just with his demeanor. He complimented me and my family, professionally, and made me feel lighter on my feet and ready to capture this wonderful time in my life. Throughout the shoot, he lifted my spirits and helped me pose in a way I felt was flattering. He showed me new techniques on how to hold my arms, which I'd been self conscious about, with the extra baby weight and all. He laughed with us and made the air feel fun and free. The more pictures he took, he'd show me a preview on his camera to let me know that they were turning out great, and the more he boosted my confidence to continue shooting. He placed a special focus on my son and pictures of us together, which was so very important to me. He captured some great moments between us, and I will cherish those photos forever. After the shoot, I felt happy, and beautiful. I had made a complete 180, and I couldn't thank him enough. I just wanted to keep telling him how he had transformed my mood and made me feel like a star, at a time that I had felt so very uncomfortable to begin with. After the shoot, when he was uploading and editing the photos, he reached out to me (hesitantly) and mentioned that he felt like the dress I had chosen was a bit busy for the feel we were originally going for, and offered to do another shoot in a solid color dress, so that we could get the exact photos I was hoping for. I will say, I was in love with the pictures he showed me, but he was right. I needed a less distracting dress to get the feel I was going for. He even offered to buy a maternity dress to have on hand for future maternity sessions, showed me links to let me choose; I would be his first client to use the dress, but I had already had a dress in mind. I couldn't believe he was so passionate about giving me the exact photos I wanted. We went back a few days later and shot the photos again. This time, I felt a million times more comfortable in front of the camera. Again, he spent just as much time showing me great poses, placing me in areas that fit my style, taking and retaking the pictures I wanted. He put extra attention in the ideas I had, and helped me get comfortable, bringing out real smiles and true laughter. Again, he caught true moments of my personality, and the love my son and I share. He encouraged me and complimented when I would make a facial expression or strike a pose that best portrayed my true self. He made me feel natural, and with every picture he took, I felt more and more comfortable in my skin. I was SOOO incredibly happy that he had gone out on a limb and expressed his concern that the first dress wasn't going to give me the photos I was hoping for, because the second shoot was PERFECT. The pictures make my heart dance, they are EXACTLY what I wanted. He is phenomenal at calming nerves, making you feel comfortable, and capturing the true moments that express your true personality. His photos are real, and above par, and I highly recommend him. If you feel uncomfortable in front of the camera like I did, I seriously suggest going with North Ga Photography, because it is 100% evident that David puts the time and interest into what makes you shine, and he captures your true beauty like you wouldn't imagine unless you see it for yourself. I cannot wait to drop this baby weight do I can get more photos taken, because whether we like it or not, capturing the special moments in our lives will be the memories that stick with us forever. David has changed my perspective on how I see myself, and for that I am truly thankful.
