Words cannot express how amazing Russell's Photography, specifically Danielle and PJ , are to work with! From our initial meeting to picking up our album, it was a seamless, enjoyable process. My husband and I got married at St Clements Castle and Danielle made sure we had the most amazing shots! Her creativity and amazing personality sets her apart from other photographers. They directed us to help make the day PERFECT. They really enjoy what they do.... Even when it's raining a little. Our entire experience with all the people at Russell's was fun, professional, and worth every penny. Our photos with edits were ready within a week. We were shocked and impressed.

We hired Russell’s photography for our wedding. I wish I had never heard of them! They knew how to pitch their services to potential clients. Hence on our wedding day the living nightmare began. I cried in utter disappointment with the first look at our wedding photos. When I voiced how unhappy we were to the owner Danielle she told me “You are not meant to like them all” in reference to our wedding photos. I would think couples are meant to LOVE all their wedding photos. We had several “big moments” not photographed by our photographer. Guest photos show the photographer standing in front of these moments without a camera in hand. It is my understanding from an email with Danielle that they normally outsource their editing but in my case they tried to do them themselves. This only made them worse. It is mind boggling to me that they don’t have more negative reviews online. At one point Danielle tried to get me to sign an agreement that would not allow me, my family or my friends to write a review. I found some reviews on other sites (like yelp) that sounded much more accurate to the terrible experience we had with them. We hated our photos so much that we did a re-shoot with another company. According to the Connecticut Secretary of State Danielle is listed as a part owner of Birchwoods. I personally find the fact that Danielle does not disclose this but is listed as a preferred vendor very unethical. I have some tips for future brides, so you may have better experiences than we did. When choosing a photographer for your special day make sure your requested shots list is emailed so there is a paper trail. Ask someone who has your best interest at heart to hold a copy the list the day of to be sure you are getting what you asked for. Also if there are multiple photographers for a company you are looking to book because you like samples of their work. Be sure to find out who shot the photos you liked and reserve/ confirm that photographer.

We worked with Danielle for our wedding and the experience was wonderful. Danielle was very fast, which was great because we wanted to have some outdoor shots on a very cold day in January. She was able to capture some beautiful moments in no time at all. She made goofy noises that made the kids smile, too. We were so pleased with her professionalism and then we got the photos—Wow! She sent us the link to preview the photos only a few days after the wedding and the results were fantastic. Highly recommend!

If you're looking for a photographer, stop now and go with Russells Photography Studio! From the minute I first called them, the experience has been amazing! My wedding was 4 days ago and I already have my photos! Danielle was AMAZING to work with! She made sure to cater to exactly what we wanted, and damn did she do it well! We told her we didn't want to spend hours on solo photos, we wanted to get the essentials done and then enjoy the rest of our evening and she did just that! She was a machine! She was SO organized and directed our families assertively and did it with grace. We loved it! And did I mention we had our dog with us for part of our first look, the ceremony, and cocktail hour and danielle was amazing with her too, keeping her entertained and got her to look at the camera in every photo! Overall it was the greatest day and a major part of that is due to Danielle. Keeping us on time (and early) all day, and even remembering to do things I told her I wanted at our meeting but I forgot the day of. Thank you Danielle!!!

Danielle and her team have done it again! My husband and I have chosen Russell’s photography not only for our engagement photos and wedding we have also used them for maternity photos, newborn photos and 1 year photos for our first son. So clearly there was no question when we found out we were pregnant again that we would use Danielle to capture all of these amazing moments. Once again she hit it out of the park with our maternity photos and Christmas card photos! I cannot wait for our new baby boy to arrive so we can have her shoot our newborn photos as well. Danielle and Russell’s photography will always be #1 on our list! No questions asked!

I can not say enough good things about my experience with Russell's Photography. Choosing them is one of the best decisions I have made. I had a blast at our Engagement Shoot. My husband did too. At that point I knew that I made the right decision. When it came to the nitty gritty of wedding planning PJ spent the time to get to know my husband and I. That knowledge along with his expertise turned every shot into a masterpiece. I can not stress enough how much fun shooting the photos were on the wedding day. It seriously was one of my favorite parts of the day. I wanted to freeze time and take pictures all night. The day after our wedding, while playing back the whirlwind of the day with other people I found myself saying "playing around the venue taking pictures was one of my favorite parts of the day." I was blown away on how fast our photos were ready for viewing. Coming from the event business myself and understand "busy" season I was impressed on how quickly our photos were ready for us to see. The final product was everything I dreamed of. The posed photos and the candid shots just made the whole magical day come to life again each time as I look thru the pictures. I would give another 5 stars if I could of how happy I was with my experience with Russell Photography for my wedding. I feel like I walked away with not only wonderful memories captured, but some new friends that I would like to have opportunity to work with again.

Russell’s photography has always outdone themselves. I have used them for multiple different events and they always seem to blow me away. Danielle first photographed my sisters wedding and every single thing was perfect. I am NOT photogenic, but every picture was amazing. What makes these pictures memorable is that they capture my entire families true personalities, expressions and overall joy. My sister looked STUNNING in every shot, and the effort Danielle and her team put in to this special day was outstanding. I personal overheard her asking multiple guests of the wedding to pose with their significant others by the sunset, she gathered adorable family group shots and hysterical candids! After this event, I had reached out to Danielle to work a fundraiser I hosted for Connecticut children with cancer. She promptly connected me to her staff and they were absolutely phenomenal. They captured the most precious photos, set up and amazing photo booth, and printed them instantly for our attendees to take with them. I know this was very special to organization. At the end of the event I was informed that they did not want to be paid for the event and were happy to donate their time. Myself and the people working my event were in tears. This just meant even more money could go to our cause! I have, and will continue, to use Russell’s photography for every event!

Our daughter just used Russell's Photography this last Sunday. She was married at The Pavilion on Crystal Lake in Middletown. These ladies were amazing. They took beautiful photos. They were careful to incorporate the gorgeous scenery with unique and beautiful photos throughout the night. The bride and groom were given the link to view their photos within days!
