He and his wife, Lindsay, have a beautiful family and run an amazing photography company here in Colorado Springs, CO. Jonathan photographed our wedding in July, 2009, and didn't miss a thing! Despite our difficult-to-find venue, he and Lindsay arrived and immediately got to work on a variety of pre-wedding photos, just as promised. He did the MOST AMAZING thing with my dress... getting silhouettes of the lace and details with the light coming through the back of the dress... those photos truly embody the gown, and I'll have no second thoughts about donating it to Brides for Breast Cancer! When we finally got to see our photos, we were amazed... Jon must have been EVERYWHERE at EVERY MOMENT! It's unthinkable that one person could have done all that, captured all the angles, and every last detail. Every single moment of our wedding is preserved in digital pictures and really allow us to relive the day when we look at them. He didn't miss a second, and even captured things we didn't realize we'd done, like when my husband kissed our dog for bringing us the rings down the aisle. After the ceremony, the fun shots really started... we got some really neat artistic shots among all the rustic decor and scenery that encapsulated our wedding. Parents of young children, rejoice! My husband and I have two young children, ages five and two, and were looking for someone to help us make a beautiful family portrait to hang in our home. Anyone with little people knows their moods vary minute by minute, and I was concerned about paying lots of money for a session that might not succeed. I expressed my hesitancy to Lindsay and she was so helpful, suggesting that we try a mini-session (about 20 minutes), and that we let Jonathan worry about getting the kids to smile so Mom and Dad could enjoy the session. This option was perfect for us. Jonathan was wonderful with our children, and had my two year old in stitches by the end of our time together. He had a calming, gentle presence, and wasn't overbearing or pushy ("Stand here!" "Do this."), which is especially helpful if you have shy, suspicious toddlers in your family. Both children still ask about Jonathan and Lindsay, and think we should have our pictures taken every week. Please keep in mind that if you choose a shorter session, or have toddlers likely to be tuckered out by a long walk, your picture backdrop is unlikely to be those glorious mountain views Jonathan captures so well. Our pictures were instead set in a simple, beautiful park setting, and as we took them in October, our surroundings were the natural browns and greens of nearby wood and grass, and those rich golden hues Colorado is so famous for. The result was a wonderfully warm autumnal portrait and a Mama who smiles whenever she sees her babies beaming down from the living room wall! Highly recommend this family operated business.

When I saw they had negative reviews I was shocked. We have been using Betz Photography for almost 10 years now and we have had nothing but great pictures and positive experiences. So I decided to read the negative reviews and no surprise to me, they were always people from Groupon. Professional photography isn't cheap. A professional photography is not Sears Portrait studio or your Aunt Betty doing engagement photos because she has a fancy camera. And if you think taking pictures is easy, try taking photos of my family with a 2 and a 4 year old. We have set aside $700.00 every year for the last 5 years so we could pay the session fee and get ONE professionally framed family picture for our wall. After 5 years our family photo collage isn't something I would sell to you for $7000.00! Its a priceless collection that shows the evolution of my family. If I wanted cheap photos I'd use my iPhone and print them at Wal-Mart. But I have enough cheap photos of my family on my computer. What I want is my entire family to get dressed nicely, go to a beautiful location, and create a memory with the people I love most in this world. And Jonathan captures those moments better than anyone I've ever met. I wouldn't trust anyone else.
