Is it possible to leave less than one star? Two separate incidents where the pharmacist and the staff dropped the ball has me swearing to never give them my business, even though the location is extremely convenient.
Incident#1) I was prescribed testosterone injections by my Urologist. He stated dosage, concentration and how many times per week to administer the injections to me in clinic in August of 2018. The pharmacist changed the concentration given to me without alerting neither my physician or the patient (me). This was not discovered by me until February of 2019 where the pharmacist placed the entire blame on me for not verifying everything first. I'm sorry, but if an M.D. tells me how to take a controlled substance like testosterone, I follow what he says. This incident caused my testosterone levels to skyrocket to the 1100 range, where my target was between 600-700. The pharmacist argued and argued with me that it was my fault not theirs. I work in an ER, and I know for a fact that anytime a pharmacist wants or needs to change a prescription in the tiniest bit, they call the prescribing physician to okay it with them before they proceed with any changes.
Incident #2) My 18 year old daughter received a tonsillectomy, and was prescribed several medications for her post-op recovery. One was Lortab elixir, which again is a controlled substance. The script called for 6 days worth of the liquid as written by an M.D. and surgeon, who performed the procedure. The pharmacy tech only filled the script for 3 days, saying that my insurance denied anything more than three days worth of the Lortab. The very next morning, I contacted my insurance carrier, and they stated that they DID NOT deny the other three days worth, they just required a prior authorization from the surgeon to fill the script. Basically, the pharmacy tech was just being lazy and didn't want to do the work necessary to take care of my daughter's prescribed pain medication. Now, my wife and I are left scrambling to do the work (that the pharmacy should have done) to fill my daughter's script before she runs out over the long holiday weekend.
Laziness, no concern for a patient's well-being and unwillingness to accept the blame when they are proven wrong, shows that the pharmacy located at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center is a danger to the patients they serve and needs proper education or a more skilled staff before they harm or injure someone.
I will NEVER return to this pharmacy and will suggest that everyone avoid this place. Trust level should be extremely low for the staff at 2301 House Ave. Suite #101 Cheyenne, WY 82001. They seem to be there just for the paycheck and not to help the patients who need their medications.
