In the current climate of 5 minute appointments with your healthcare provider and the "evil" prescription drugs, it is hard to find a pharmacy as wonderful as Kelley Ross. I've noticed at other pharmacies, budgets get tighter, their work is scrutinized more and more by regulatory authorities and eventually the smile you used to get from your pharmacist as you walked in to fill a prescription was sooner or later replaced by a scowl and litany of bogus reasons your doctor 's standing order that has kept you stable for a decade was no longer an option. NOT SO AT KELLEY ROSS.
They have faced the same scrutiny and overbearing oversight as everyone else, yet each and every member of the staff still manages to greet me by name and with a smile EVERY time I walk through their doors. It starts from the top down with Stephanie, the pharmacy manager who manages to balance it all with ease and a smile, even when it's past closing time and I still have "just one more question" about a new medication to her staff pharmacists Elyse and Alyson who have never hesitated to go above and beyond for me when the need has been there to Russ and Jolene who manage my complicated insurance information and figure out how to make it work in a way that leaves me with the lowest out of pocket possible (yes, also while smiling) and without breaking a sweat. Pam and Linda are up front and actually care enough to take the time to ask if my puppy is feeling better from her UTI three weeks ago or if I was able to kick that cold that just wouldn't let go
Come on!?! True, some pharmacies here and there used to operate like this...where "everyone knows your name' so to speak. But with declining reimbursement across the board coupled with regulatory oversight and reporting requirements that are becoming more and more arduous (or ridiculous....take your pick), the staff at Kelley Ross Pharmacy at the Polyclinic should be commended for doing an incredible job putting the patient first. Motto's generally are hit and miss depending on if the company really wants to live by them, but at KR, "Caring is in our chemistry" isn't just a slogan, it's the way they do their jobs every single day.
