The cashiers are rude. If you ask for paper bags, they look at you as if you were nuts. Then they pack them so full I could barely get them into my car. I am not a weakling, but ,73 and petite

Pharmacy is terrible. They mess up your order, make excuses and hang up on you when you try to get answers. You don't want to rely on this pharmacy if you have a serious illness.

Torey Caffee

You call this location & they have you on hold for like 30 minutes or longer, if they even answer the phone. It’s the worst when you’re just trying to pre order chicken for an event

Expensive but they have good products.

What in the world ? Is this store closing or what? Stock your shelves!$

I am utterly disgusted and appalled by ONE SINGLE worker at this establishment. Everyone I came into contact with treated me as another fellow American citizen. Yet when I received a call from my niece stating that the worker had verbally assaulted her , I knew I had to grab my own receipt for pickup and head to Farm Fresh on 928 Diamond Springs Rd. The woman behind the counter must have been trained in the trenches of Farm Fresh. Kyoko or “Koko” as her manager addressed her was nothing less than vile. Not only did she refuse to make my order, but, she verbally assaulted and then INSULTED me and accused my niece as well as myself of...BEING A THIEF. If I were not raised with the class she was lacking, it would have been a rumble in Farm Fresh. Thankfully the wonderful manager at the time took over and let her verbally assault him and eventually the issue was over and handled but not without Kyoko ( “Koko”) continuously repeating she would not complete the already paid for order. If anyone goes to this location to pick up an order, call ahead and make sure “Koko” isn’t working because as some of her coworkers stated “this is typical behavior for “Koko””. 1 star ONLY because of management and the way they handled the situation unlike the neanderthals’ co-workers.

I had to stop shopping here. Baked whole chicken was raw inside, stale bread, cheese molded in two days (I always check the expiration dates) and meat is always grey on the underside when I get it home.

This store is over half empty of products on every isle. The store is filthy...take a look at the pexiglass wing display and the fresh rolls display. I think the health department needs to get involved. At 6:45 a couple of weeks ago ,I was told at the deli that they couldn't help me because they didnt have enough staff. Ive seen the bakery case and gourmet cheese case totally empty too. I keep hoping this store will close but I simply do NOT go into that store. Only gave it onestar because I had to.

The young lady, with her stinking attitude, working at the Starbucks inside on 3/1/18 9:40am is someone I could only characterize as a world class idiot. How she even a job that deals with public interaction is astounding.

Ordered my son's 1st birthday cake from the bakery & Amanda helped me. She was very sweet and helpful. I will definitely order again because of her. The cake was very good and I loved that they give you a free smash cake for your kid's first birthday! Thank you Amanda!!

I've never had a favorite grocery store. This store has an inviting feeling, it's got everything you need and the prices are reasonable. I like that I'm able to see the same familiar faces at the register and in the deli. The team here is really great and the store is always clean. I recently relocated to Florida and would love it if they would open one down here. Maybe Farm Fresh could consider that in the near future? :)

Finally decided to go in and give the chicken a try and asked for all dark meat and was told they didn’t have enough to make an order of 10 all dark meat just for them to turn around and put a WHOLE TRAY of DARK MEAT chicken out for EVERYONE to see. I let that slide because of being in a hurry and a toddler that needed to use the restroom. Finally when to checkout the cashier was extremely rude and practically threw my change at me. Got home my son and I ate ONE piece of chicken and I have to say it was probably the WORST fried chicken I have EVER had. Needless to say I will not be returning here. I’ll stick to food lion or Kroger.

You really need to address the poor customer service from some of your employees. We as customers are glad that this store is still open. BUT, if you want customers to continue to shop there, please have employees that want to serve your customers. There is a young man in the seafood department that has a nasty attitude every time I go there. Now, I get my seafood from another market just to avoid dealing with him.

Not a lot of people traffic inside on sundays..On sunday everything is being stocked as you shop..... so it is always a quick shopping experience..

I frequent this location as it's right down the street from where I live. The store is clean and well kept, fully stocked, salad bar always fresh and delicious (the main reason I like to go there!), service is fast every time, and the people at checkout are usually friendly. I find much of the produce, deli, bakery and seafood items to be affordable for putting meals and snacks together. I do miss when this location had a Starbucks. Still, most things about this store are up to par and I'm very happy that this is one of the few Farm Fresh locations to remain open.

Lindsay Crews

Maybe Friday isn't a good time to shop for produce there. But herbs and about half the produce was going bad.

I am so glad this Farm fresh is open. We were very worried. We have been shopping at this store for last 10 years. We love this place. Good luck to the new owner. I see that store has become even better and prices are much better now.

I am very happy that Virginia Beach still has two Farm Fresh locations this one and Chimney Hill. I love their fried chicken and bakery items as well as their floral department. Seniors can also get a discount on Tuesdays and Thursdays this is a wonderful way to honor our senior citizens who have contributed to society for many years...not many grocery stores give this discount.... thank you Farm Fresh for serving the citizens of Virginia Beach offering a world class shopping experience.

This is the closest grocery store to where we live and this is the grocery store we only visit in reluctance everytime as well as this is the least visited grocery store for us. This location has deteriorated so much over the period of three or so years. The store as a whole smelled of fried chicken and whenever you shopped there you came out smelling like KFC. They have not paid enough attention as a grocer to organics as not enough items in organics are available for sale here. They have posted that they are becoming bigger and better and renovating and here to stay. I wish them luck and hope that they pay attention to these couple of items when making new deli and restocking there shelves.

7/12.....Worse customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life!!!! Waiting in line for chicken when I finally was up after waiting almost 20 mins a non- African American customer walks the people in the deli which was not African American as well clearly looked passed me. Me along with 5 other customers that waited in line was shock the employee did this and when I said “sorry ma’am I was next” she ignored me and continued to wait on them. Just sad very very sad.

I enjoy come to shop here great deals ...but we travel across the Chesapeake bay bridge tunnel and pay tolls both ways wish we had a farm fresh on the eastern shore of virginia...

Randy B

It is still open, the shelves stay empty, they said the supplier was out or a lot of things. Never had that problem before. They also changed the senior discount to only on some items, but I didn’t see where it showed was discounted. I just bought $60.00 worth and got $0.95 discount. Guess it is time to look at Food Lion across the street or the new Harris Teeter in Haygood.

A day which I sought to help one in need turned out so much different than I could every imagine. While at the deli, i asked the attendant for 2 separate orders, one for a 16 piece with sides for the family and the other an eight piece for my family. Ty, the attendant, kept saying 24 piece as in one order, my reply was one 16 and another 8. 2 separate orders, for 2 people going in 2 different directions, but one check . After deliberation of a 24 piece for 10 minutes he gave me 2 slips on paper one for the cost of the 18 piece, the other for an 8 piece and said in 16 minutes. Upon my return, he said you have not paid for it that was another 10 minutes of unrequited exchange of meaningless jibber jab . I mentioned you did not say I to pay for it in advanced nor to bring back the receipt. In the past I have never paid for chicken in advanced , not even for extremely large orders. My question was when did this rule take effect, certainly not last week! He continued to grandstand in front of many customers. Then he proceed to go to the phone to contact a manager. I also when to the front to get a manger. In speaking with her, she explained the policy and tried to intervene. I paid for my other items and an orange dot( paid) was placed on the paper he had given with the amount. If that was not enough, he asked for the receipt. then contacted the front desk to see whether I had paid for the chicken. What an insult! What could have been a rewarding day for two strangers trying to help on a Sunday morning turned out to be a frustrating moment from a person who decided to grand stand. In all of my visits to the Farm Fresh on Diamond Springs and the surrounding stores did I feel so disappointed in the such demeaning behavior directed towards a senior citizen. First, Ty did not listen to the request of the customer, he chose to put his own spin on it. Second, his exhibited demeanor toward the customer was unprofessional and surely not the Farm Fresh brand. Third, the longer the line, the more he performed. When he said anything over 24 pieces had to be paid before purchase I asked where is displayed for customers to see. Thus, customers are unaware and the practice of it is not consistent. Ty could have handled the situation so much better before it escalated; for, it then became a struggle of power. I cant imagine what the male manager said to him for I never saw him, even though he said he had spoken with him. I spoke with the female manager. This situation should have never gotten to this point. In fact, he refused to listen to one of the managers. In my professional opinion, Ty does not have the skill- set to take orders for chicken from the public. He displays a short fuse, lack of understanding of what the customer is requesting without switching it around and an antagonist air and does not care about the needs of the customer. I am truly disappointed and in my many plus years of purchasing chicken from farm fresh or other items for this store I have never had such an experience, Again what started out as an act of kindness turned into an hour and half of no this is not happening. In fact, he was heard in a similar dialogue with another customer. This will not be the last incident with Ty nor is it the first!!

Horrible service by the management team. I called corporate and received a nasty phone call from the manager. I will be calling the BBB.

I was placed on hold twice for 15 mins after calling 15 times and being hung up on! Just for pricing on two items!!!! They were very rude and inconsiderate! I don't even think I want to spend my money here!!

Some good employees but unless you want to go to ghettoville, stay away from their in-store Starbucks. Last time I waited for almost 10 mins to order a latte, the whole time the employee was somewhere else goofing around. One of the managers of Farm Fresh saw me standing there and said nothing to her about it. By the time the employee did take my order and gave me my latte, I've gotten no apology no thank you no nothing. Please people if at all possible stay away from the hood. Take your business elsewhere.

Ronke Asuquo

Farm have a good customer service. I have no problems coming to Farm Fresh.

Was told customer service would open at 0900AM. Waited for 10 minutes while the manager wouldn't give us the time of day. Sorry if I'm a ripple in you busy morning of gossip. Rather tired of people feeling like their better than others.

Nauje Jones

Having shopped and worked at Farm Fresh I find some of these comments disappointing. For instance the mini counter comment. If it were a regular lane you would not expect the cashier to take all of your items out of the shopping cart so why would you expect them to at express where the space is limited as you have stated. Remove the basket from the counter and place your items on it like you would do any other lane it is much faster when you do this and more convenient for you and the cashier. Another suggesting race might have been in play. I will reassure you that was not the case at all. When a cashier's light is off that means either A they are not open or B they are about to open. And when they are unloading and counting their drawer it can be somewhat challenging to talk and count at the sametime. As well about the clutter many times customers put items they do not want on the counter next to or even on the open express lane counter, considering the cashier was just opening that might have been an explanation for that. Honestly I'm sure if you would have waited briefly for the cashier to count and relaod their drawer the wait would have been way less. I am leaving this comment not to be accusing in anyway but rather provide a look on the other side. Working in customer service you learn that sometimes customers are upset or agitated about wait times or previous service or even their day all of which you cannot control, you learn courtesy and patience because we are all human. Sometimes we have bad days. Only once has the anger of a customer been because of my own doing in my time working their and it was simply due to my inexperience. All this to say, when leaving comments for any establishment try to be considerate as they have been to you and leave it based on multiple experiences not just one bad one. Concerned citizen

Horrible service came to get crab legs, got rolled eyes when walked up, then went to pay cashier, no hello, then had to reach to get my bags, as she yawned, smh never shopping here again, never, this place needs to be closed.

Product this, that, da other....

This supermarket has gone downhill fast. When new owner took over, there was signage about prices being reduced etc - now i go in on occasion since it is one of the only area salad bars - but would not shop there! Prices on almost all items i checked, fresh vegetables to dairy etc -MUCH HIGHER in PRICE than where i usually shop in Hilltop area of VA Beach - really sad to see the store so empty of customers but that is most likely the reason. Store not well stocked and the stock they DO have is priced much higher that Farn Fresh stores in the past or in comparison to Krogers , Harris Teeters.or Food Lions

I just tried to feed this experience back to the store directly but their website has no "contact us" feature so I will do it here. I just waited in line behind two people, both with a week's worth of groceries, to get my ten items rung up. The cashier there (young white male) was conscientious, apologetic, and pleasant. I *had seen the express lane open up and was first in line, before two other people, to check out my ten items. That cashier had acted strangely with me. I live by the store and have shopped there for 25 years, back to when it was a Gene Walters Marketplace. I have always been pleasant and so have they. But this gal (young African-American woman) just looked at me as I came up and asked whether she was open. She seemed to be saying yes. I saw her light was out and her small checkout area was already cluttered with (someone else's) merchandise, so I asked again about that. She said she was just back from break and putting her drawer in. There was no smile, no encouragement that she might be open for business--she hesitated as though I were interrupting her in something else she had to get done. So I smiled and said I guessed I had better go to a line that was open then. As I walked away, the two people behind me asked me in bewilderment what was going on. I said I understood her to say that she was not open, but, on the contrary, she immediately checked those two customers out. I would hate to believe that it was due to both of them also being African-American. That probably was *not the case, but in any case, people working with the public should not be more or less telling one person to go away, only to help the two people behind her, no matter *who they are. That is just wrong, and very, very confusing. Bottom line, as a retired naval officer who shops the commissary but hits this Farm Fresh at least twice a month, I would say this cashier needs to be retrained in working with the public. I should not have had to play 20 questions with her to determine whether she could help me. If I misunderstood her, she could have called me back. All three just stood looking after me as she checked out the other two, as though *I had decided to walk away voluntarily and spend ten minutes waiting in another line. I simply could not understand what the cashier was doing/saying. There was no place to put my merchandise on her stand as it already had merchandise all over it. Very baffling.

Oh my goodness !!! Went in to get crab legs and the cook must be overworked ...ask for a pound of crab legs my sticker dollar amount was 22.35 !! Didn't pay attention cause so many people were in line got 2 the register and paid for my crabs and realized my bill was to much ! Go 2 the front desk and come 2 find out he gave me someone else's tag she refunded me 7 .54. ...farm fresh get him some help or your gonna lose money cause someone got my sticker and paid little of nothing for their crab legs...your lose.

Premium prices and a less than premium experience. Sorry, but Kroger has the power and professionel prowess to both outclass and price-beat a local upscale-wanabee outfit like Farm Fresh. Farm fresh is about 0.5 miles from me; Kroger 3 miles. Yesterday I had no time to drive my usual 6 mile round-trip to Kroger. Farm Fresh is a well maintained if over-priced experience I was familiar with and I made my first trip in 6 months. Nice store with a limited inventory. A Big Sushi sign- but where is the sushi....? I had ten items to check out. At Kroger I would use the self check-out lane. Fast and convenient. At Farm-Fresh on Diamond Springs, the sadly-spaced Express Lane had a mini counter. I just placed my minicart on the the small available space. The checker asked me to unload my minicart. WTF Well, my minicart took up the entire available space. No place to unload. I laughed, and assumed she could just grab my items from my cart. Instead we entered into a slow and strange dance of one item out- onto the counter- and then scan. Rinse and Repeat. Ridiculous.

The barrister has an attitude problem and is very ugly. They don't know how to even greet or treat customers.

I missed shopping here so much since moving that I've made special trips across town to shop here. It's always clean and easy to find what I need. They also have great sale prices and wonderfully helpful employee's.
