The produce department leaves A LOT to be desired. Produce is frequently out of stock, salad mixes are often brown or wilted. They don't have common seasonal items, like Brussels sprouts or pomegranates. In contrast, the meat department is very good. Sometimes the product could have been trimmed better, but the prices and specials make it worthwhile.

One star is only for 3 employees who apologized for our extremely bad experience at the breakfast buffet! (If you want to call it that) I was in shock....it was the most DISGUSTING sight I have ever seen since the store has opened! It had food on the carpet. The trays were not kept up! Food dry NASTY HARD and droppings all over, spoons not cleaned off! Now for the service...OMG I get better service from teenagers at McDonald's! I was snapped at when asked when they were gonna change the eggs! She mixed up the dry eggs and looked at me as if I was going to eat that nasty stuff! I replied both of them need replacement! Why am I in need to tell these employees to do there job! It was apparent that no care was put into the buffet after the buffet opened! After I ate only what I could stomach the carpet was still had food there since I walked in! Then pancakes, still not replaced either.The french toast was rock hard however the manager for that section came with a fresh batch along with butter that they never brought out! I will Never Ever going there again! Worsted place I have ever been at!

Not my first choice for groceries in Watertown. Selection is fine. Staff is generally fine. I've found expired food and moldy produce on more than one occasion. So make sure you check those things. Not the best value in town. Pharmacy is ridiculously slow.

A modern grocery store with a take-out restaurant type of deli area serving all kinds of foods, a pharmacy, and a coffee shop. They made my entire Thanksgiving dinner and it was actually very good and easy for me to prepare at home.

Ivy is a great, clean store and offers a very wide selection of groceries. They have a great salad bar, great sushi bar and great food all around. However, the prices for the items tend to be a bit High but you can always find great selection.

My second visit and they mean to impress! Fresh foods/bakery/seafood and more. Well stocked and very clean isles. You can make a milk/bread run because of their large parking and multiple entrances or do all your shopping. Friendly, fast service and pricing is in line with other local stores but with an upscale feel.

The pharmacy used to be my favorite but the Becky isn't there and the old lady who replaced her is awful! So rude! Becky was so knowledgeable and friendly, I'm sad she left.

The drive thru pharmacy has terrible customer service. Had to call the pharmacy to see why the line was not moving after a half an hour waiting. There has been many times they have asked me to move when my prescription was not ready so why are they not doing the same for everyone. The point of a drive thru is for fast service. This pharmacy has not had that in many years. The inside is no better with their service. It seems like the staff is not organized or efficient in their work.

Hy-Vee is one of the nicest grocery stores I've been in in years they are Chloe owned comparable to Winco which is out on the west coast they are also an employee-owned store we went in there the hot food bar the Chinese the Italian The Coffee Spot the salad bar the breakfast bar needless to say the buffets that they have and then on the weekends they'll even carved meat for you what a great place to go the selection they have is very good you can go from low-grade to top brand some things do have a dollar on compared to other stores but the staff is great there how they lay out things is amazing very well-kept they run the deli is my husband says like a tight ship very attentive and their bread selection no more needs to be said they have a great selection they'll let you taste a sample of it very very nice store

There are two places I will shop in the area. Whole Foods and Hyvee on E Wash. Hyvee is by far my favorite. Not only is it much closer to me but I love all the food options from their breakfast, deli, fresh meat and seafood, but they have the best bakery section around. Cookies always taste fresh and the bread is to die for!!!!! It is decent sized and I am greeted with a smile from start to finish. I always have plenty of goods to choose from when I visit. They finally added self check out too which has been more convenient than having to wait like I’ve had to in past visits. Would recommend to those on the East side

Ok/fair. That’s about it. Not much more. I wanted to like this store. But they just made it difficult to be pleased with this store. First off, Hy-Vee brand foods just seem to lack flavor. All of them. Specifically, I tried the extra sharp cheddar cheese, and it taste like cheddar, kind- of , but barely, and definitely not extra sharp. The Hy-Vee brand foods are NOT worth purchasing. Then it comes to stocking shelves. I struggle to understand their logic in their shelving locations. They seem to stock the jumbo extra large sizes and the tiny sizes. But never the normal size that people actually want. Is this a ploy to get people to buy more?? I’ve visited multiple times, and they are always out of the normal size Cheerios. After multiple visits, I think they never stock that product in that size. Just to get me to buy the industrial size big one. Credit where credit is due. The deli is amazing. The taste of the foods in the deli is really good. And the selection is truly amazing. Also, got to give credit, the location is also pretty darn good here on East Washington. That being said, I just don’t think I’m going to return to this store. The product quality is not where it needs to be; the selection and sizing is lacking; and the layout is strange. Bright lights and big signs aren’t going to sell me. Provide better products and better layout and I might visit in the future.

It might sound small but living outside of Watertown it's hard to get what you need last minute while in town. I work overnights and HyVee had a Rotisserie Chicken ready for my by 11am so I could make my dad's favorite homemade chicken noodle soup. I went to the other grocery store and was told 2pm. Thank you HyVee for always being so awesome and accommodating!

Favorite grocery store in Watertown. They have great sales and a great fuel saver! Everyone is so helpful and polite, even when they are super busy ( 3 day sale, Wednesday senior citizen day) I have never had a bad experience. Also, their catering is amazing and so is the deli and restaurant! They have delicious bakery donuts and a great buffet! Also, caribou coffee and a floral department. I love everything about Hy-Vee!

Don't go here. - They showed up 40 minutes early. For our wedding. They showed up when the bride was supposed to be walking down the aisle. So our outdoor wedding had scrambling people and melting food. - They can't even tell you how much food you're getting. They can't tell you the size of the packages of food you're getting. How much table and cooler space did we need? Didn't even know. - They're too busy for you. The people we met with at the store will cut you off, tell you what you want, and sell aggressively. When we called they couldn't answer questions and would always refer back to one person. - The best case scenario is that they're terrible communicators. Worst case, they lie to your face. We catered food and didn't get the utensils we thought we would. You need to ask everything specifically, and then write it down, and then make sure they have it in the contract. - Especially since they'll oversell to you, they cost too much. Apparently Hyvee food costs the same as eating out for every single one of your guests! For their CHEAPEST OPTIONS!

The best thing HyVee has going for it is on the outer aisles of the store. The deli blows away the competition with fresh cuts of high Qualityt meats and cheeses at reasonable prices. Then they have a specialty cheese section, as well as a Chinese food/pizza/salad/soup bar. They have added a restaurant style atmosphere, which, to me at least, seems unnecessary. So now we got to tip a waiter for getting our drinks? Should have left well enough alone. Its HyVee, not fine dining. But back to the store. The meat and fish counter is second to none. Fresh Cod, oysters, shrimp, Crab Legs, Lobster Tank, Steaks, appetizers, it's very well stocked and high Quality. Watch for deals, specials, coupons, gas savings, etc there is savings to be had! Also as great selection of fresh fruit and vegetables in the produce section. The rest of the store has pretty much anything else you'd ever need. There is also a health food section and a Pharmacy.

A normal grocery store but they have a good live-food selection too. Burgers, Asian food, sandwiches made to order, and some other items. You can take them all into the dining area where there’s also a full bar. Great spot to stay a while especially for electric car owners while they charge.

My wife and I needed a caterer for our wedding and heard mixed feedback about several of the local options. We weren’t feeling confident in any of them until we found out that Hy-Vee caters events. Having enjoyed the food at the East Side Hy-Vee restaurant a number of times, we thought it would be a great option. We scheduled a consultation with Chef Renee and were able to try a variety of dishes. Renee was friendly and incredibly candid, suggesting certain options that would stay fresh longer than others when left out for a while. We told Renee we had a number of dietary restrictions, including severe food allergies, and she promptly provided us with detailed information on the menu. She also introduced us to Sue and the rest of the team at the bakery, who provided us with delicious desserts. We even ordered our bridal bouquet and other flowers from the floral department, and the arrangements were perfect. The food, staff, and delivery fees were very reasonable, and everyone loved the meal. We highly recommend Hy-Vee for any catering event and certainly for a wedding!

Great grocery store. Lots of different options for fresh produce, bakery, deli, organic foods... They even carry my favorite chocolate milk (Kalona), so I don't have to go all the way to Whole Foods. Nice store, usually well stocked, and helpful service around the store. There is also a USPS inside. The reason, however, for 4 stars is they never have enough cashiers, and with no self checkouts the wait can be long.

I used to love hy-vee, but I'm fairly certain your employees have never been trained to bag groceries or anything about customer service. They stack cans on eggs and bread. Make bags too heavy, you ask for paper bags and are given plastic. They cop an attitude when you ask them to give you paper. They have little respect for purchases and I'm tired of having to rebag or find broken items when I get home. Most recently an employee dropped our black berries all over the register, scooped them up with his bare hands and made a big deal about the fact we no longer wanted them. I'm so sad that hy-vee has come to this, but I will be exploring other grocery stores. It's so inconvenient to have to drive back to Madison when your employees mess up and clearly don't care about it.

Horrible customer service. To: Ryan the store director- I've never had a customer service representative have the nerve to raise their voice at me or give such terrible customer service. I was waiting in line for the Post office and apparently there wasn't a separate line, but no one bothered to tell me that until two or three other people got served before I did when I was there first and then they had the nerve to talk back to me and interrupt me when I'm trying to ask them a question and tell them that they should at least acknowledge their customers standing there if they're not going to serve them. absolutely ridiculous and horrendous customer service if you can even call it that I'll be sure to go to a regular post office next time. What a joke!?

First time and probably last time customer. Went in for ingredients to make tacos. Meat was decently priced. Seasoning selection was okay. Hot sauce selection was poor. Biggest takeaway: The store was crowded, not very clean, under staffed, and sold moldy tortillas that I had to make an emergency run to replace while the meat was cooking. Maybe it would be a better experience if I went back... But I'm not super motivated to try again.

Good selection of fresh and healthy food which accomodates many dietary restrictions. One of the few places with an allergy-safe butchering section - shellfish and non-shellfish are not butchered on the same surface, nor are other varieties of meats. The only thing preventing them from reaching 5 stars is their high price-point - this is one of the more expensive grocery stores in town. Get your regular groceries elsewhere, but come here for specialty items.

Every time I have a small item, like on Tuesday December 11th 2018, I bought and got charged for some chap stick that never made it to my house, I will not be visiting Hyvee during the day, this has happened way too often and if I go back with receipt they have already put item back on the shelf

It looks like a very fancy place, and in some respects it lives up to that. Their specialty sections are actually pretty amazing, and the cafe is surprisingly good. However, get out into the main part of the store and it's a different story. Time and time again I see entire sections dominated by in your face displays of Hy-Vee brand products, and it's clearly to the detriment of the selection of name brands. I get trying to push your own product; it's a higher profit margin. But all of the Hy-Vee brand products I've tried have been mediocre at best. And I'm not extremely happy with having good quality products pushed out by mediocre products in the name of profits. They either need to cut back on their single-minded push of their own products and bring a better selection of name brands or at the very least up the quality of their house brand by quite a bit.

Great options for vegans! Prices are super affordable. All the employees were nice EXCEPT our grocery bagger. We used reusable bags and then gentleman who bagged for us didn't say hi or thank you and acted like we were a burden to him to be honest. And he bagged everything all strange and out of order ex. Food with non food, cold with not cold ect.

Great place to shop and eat. They have Asian and pizza everyday and a fill buffet that changes daily. They also have a Tesla charging station which is pretty cool. Staff is always nice and quick.

Hy-Vee has stores all over, yet they still create the vibe of a local grocery store. You can get to know the employees, and they know you. On top of that, they have a fantastic selection of foods, premade even. Overall they create a perfect representation of what it is to be a hometown grocer, and it makes you want to go back time and time again. Every visit feels like a break from the corporate mindset that big box stores have forcefully imbued in us. While it might be an illusion, it works very, very well.

I'd go there if you want the best chance at good produce from a standard grocery store. They have a good selection of everything although the cashiers ate hit and miss and there are often long lines. They have some good deals and I love their Fuel Saver program and generous health food selection. However, they are rasing the price for delivery which will cost us a minimum of $99.00 extra so I'll be looking for other delivery options, especially since the delivery guy told my 94-year-old mother she needs to tip him at least $3 bucks each time. I'll still go there in person though. It's also nice they have a drive thru pharmacy that does pill trays.

This grocery is amazing!! It's quick and easy to run in and pick up a few items or to do a month's worth of shopping, they have fabulous hot food to take out or you can sit in their restaurant and have a drink and eat. Their deli and fresh fish and meat areas have huge selections. The store is always brightly lit and clean as a whistle, friendly staff.

Nice store, but slowest checkout process on the planet. Too few lanes open every single time we shop there. Be prepared to wait, maybe take a cooler for your ice cream so it doesn’t melt while waiting. Seriously, they are that slow.

They have all the weird grocery items I try to find. This place is too expensive for regular grocery shops for us, tho. The deli is super baller. Had thanks giving and we ordered all the sides from HyVee. It was awesome!

Asked for the jalapeño cheddar bacon wontons that were clearly on the board at the store and in the menu. The two ladies looked around like i was speaking a made up language. They looked around very awkwardly for a few minutes before saying they were out when it was clearly they were lost. Maybe Hyvee should maybe drug test their market place workers

Market Grille is horrible. I tried placing an order online and got errors, so I called and the phone just rang. I had to call Hyvee and get transferred to the Market Grille. I placed my order and arrived to pick it up and stood there for at least 5 minutes before someone asked if I was being helped and when I said no they continued working. Once I finally got helped I was told everything was in the bag but it wasn't and I didn't realize it until I got home.

We make a local potato chip, and have had our chips in Hyvee East for over two years. When we first brought our products into the store we brought in a three-tier display basket (approx $200) that was similar to the style they had so we fit in. About six months ago our product and our baskets went missing. We approached several people looking for the missing baskets and product and no one found anything. We stopped delivering there. About 6 weeks ago we approached the store again and they were excited to have the chips back in the store. Even though we never got our chip baskets back, we brought in new display shelving. The chips were selling better than ever and our customers were so excited. Today we went back in and the new shelf we brought in was missing and so were the chips. We had to find a manager, which took forever and they showed us where our new location is, a tiny bottom shelf that barely holds any chips. So much for supporting small businesses. We are pulling from all of the hyvee stores. I usually don’t go to social media, but the store doesn’t care at all and I’m sick of the poor vendor service.

Stopped in here primarily because the floral department exceeds expectations and I needed a floral bouquet. We also bought some packable lunch items for a drive and picnic. We were able to get everything in one stop, which is not always the case, and I was impressed with the employees and the store itself. I am pleased to suggest this as a full grocery store for those who have not tried shopping here.

It's a nice store overall (clean, etc.). This particular day I was only able to get 1 of the 4 cereals that were on sale, 3 of the 9 types of Progresso soups, no kale, no skim cottage cheese... about 1/2 to 2/3 of my items were out of stock and " if it isn't on the shelf, we don't have it right now..." If I rated this experience, it would be a 1, and I wouldn't go back. Thankfully, I have been here one other time and it was a better experience. Checkouts were fast, friendly, and my groceries were packed well!

We used them for a wedding event and it was good and bad. The food was delicious and I guess that is what’s most important. (Waldorf salad AMAZING). The servers were fine. But my wedding was for 130 people and I had to decorate the venue. I rented the table cloths through HyVee and both spoke over the phone and met in person to go over details. On the day of the event I started to decorate and was completely devastated to find out they gave me small square table clothes for the 5 foot round tables. It RUINED the entire look of the reception. Imagine a large round table with a little square cloth in the middle... It didn’t even reach the edges. I would post a picture but was so humiliated I didn’t take any photos.... so many months of planning every little detail just crushed and there was nothing I could do.

The bright big red letters that were close together, of which I was trying to understand at the time were trying to get my attention? During the daytime, I guess it would be very easy to walk here from Howard Johnson, which is right next door. I had never been in a 24 hour grocery store before. They had a lot to select from. The bottled water aisle had an abundant selection to choose from. I guess that this place would be better and convenient for the University of Wisconsin-Madison undergraduates if they needed a super late night snack
