We had to take our 7 month old lab puppy in because it was thought that he was having seizures. We got up dated throughout the day and the Dr was always honest about his condition. The technician sat with him throughout some of the day which made me feel like this is defiantly a clinic that cares about your pet. 12 hours after the symptoms started and the Dr. trying multiple things to help him he came out of it. I feel like they saved my little guys life and I am very grateful. This is defiantly a clinic that cares about your pet and has some of the most caring staff.

Such an amazing group of people work here. We've been using their services for our cats since we moved here from St Louis in 2015. They've always been compassionate and realistic with us. Unfortunately, last week we had to say goodbye to one of our two cats, Sophie. She and her sister, Lily, were litter mates and have never been apart from each other. We just knew it was time for Sophie to go, and they confirmed our suspicions. We were with her the entire time. The staff was very comforting and sympathetic. They gave us some time with her beforehand and let us know we could stay with her as long as needed afterwards. It was a sucky situation but they made it just a bit easier for us. We will continue to use their services with Lily. She's a feisty old lady, so hopefully it'll be nothing but regular checkups for a while.

The veterinarians and techs are wonderful! So thankful for their ability to handle emergencies. It is VERY expensive though. It was $1600+ for our dog to be admitted for one night. That includes everything, but man it took a bite out of our savings.

Traveling through with my dog Lucy and she wouldn't eat or drink and was shuddering a lot. I called the hospital and they worked me in. I had to drive over a 100 miles to get there but it was worth it. Dr. Brigman did an exam and blood work and while nothing showed up prescribed some meds to help her. Very satisfied with the staff and hospital.

After two different vet clinics, I was frustrated at the care that my cats were receiving. I felt as if they were just treated as a "thing" and not a living animal. My cats are my babies so I searched and searched and the Animal Clinic was highly recommended by friends and several people on social media platforms. When my cat became sick, I made my first appointment and took him in. Immediately I was impressed by the friendliness of all of the staff and the compassion shown by the techs and the Veterinarians. It was only two months later when I had to take him back and he was diagnosed with Diabetes. Now, I am a nurse and work with diabetics and I was overwhelmed. The Vet was awesome and patient and answered all of my questions. They worked with me on trying a different insulin that was way more in my budget and it has actually worked better for my cat. The more we visit the vet, the more disgruntled and combative my cat becomes. The staff has always been patient and understanding with him and wont push him too hard. They were great with my dog also who is terrified at the vet and barks and growls and sounds mean, but they were compassionate and not scared or worried that he was aggressive or going to bite them. They knew that he was just terrified and they were extra cautious and displayed a friendliness and calmness to him that helped. Over the course of the last year, I have seen probably every vet there at some point and time and they have all been phenomenal. I highly recommend them to everyone. I do utilize their pet wellness plans (especially for my diabetic cat) but am finding that it might not be as feasible for my other cat who, for right now at least, is healthy. The plans they do have, if they fit for your pet are awesome. It is great to know that it is there and I can take my cat in and save some money or have a couple of visits that I don't have to pay at all. I love the staff there and I want to thank them all for taking such good care of my animal. I see them at least once a month to pick up my prescription cat food and they are always smiling and friendly. If you are looking for a great vet, then look no further, this is the place to go.

My poor baby had an injury that I thought may have been a snake bite near the Badlands. I brought him here and he was seen immediately. It was determined to NOT be a snake bite, thank goodness. But he did get some Rimadyl for pain, and he healed well. I was traveling, so I was especially concerned, but they put me at ease, and followed up with a phone call to make sure Hurley was ok. They didn’t try to take advantage of my out-of-town status, either! Very reasonably-priced TLC.

Had to make an appointment super short notice to get a sedative for my three kitties before I moved. Not only did they get me in the next day, they actually negotiated a price, so I wasn't gouged before I moved, and were extremely understanding and excellent with my kitties. All of this for a 1st time customer might I add. Excellent service, excellent staff, and believe it or not excellent atmosphere. My cats are indoor cats and get super stressed when I have to drive them anywhere. The second I walked in, the ladies were talking to them and calmed them down. You can just barely hear dogs barking in the lobby, which is not the case in other vets around town. I would highly recommend giving these guys your business if you are the fence about where to take your fur babies.

I Google searched for Vets before I moved to Rapid City from Illinois. This place had the best reviews. So once I moved I dropped in for a visit and spoke with customers in the waiting area. All good recommendations. But when my kitten was injured I got to see for myself. And I'm so happy to say they were all I had hoped for. Very professional, they showed caring and gentleness for my kitten and comfort for me. It’s Hard to find a Family Vet that you can trust, Is kind and understanding, is affordable, Is very knowledgeable, professional, is open 24/7. You’re our family Vet Thank you for all you do. We have had to come for an Emergency and for regular visit for shots and have been very pleased. Thank you all from front desk to backdoor your all very important to our family.

My dog started getting sick on Thanksgiving and kept getting sicker overnight so early Friday morning, my daughter took him to the Animal Clinic. I got stuck with $150.00 extra dollars because she took him one-half hour before they opened. The only medication they gave him was Furosemide, which did nothing to help. If I asked questions, they were extremely vague with their answers. His breathing got worse as the day went by and they still did nothing to help. He could not be weaned off oxygen so I could not take him and find a vet that actually cared about animals. Then, I was informed that if he stayed another night, I would have to pay another $150.00, a long with the rest of the bill, which was very high for them doing absolutely nothing for my dog. By Friday night, he was on maximum oxygen and still could not breathe, so I made the choice to put him to sleep so he would not suffer anymore. This so-called emergency vet clinic does not do a damn thing to help animals. The veterinarian barely talked to me, except to find out if I was going to put my dog down. He had no chance to get better because this clinic blatantly ignored him. The only thing they cared about was the money.

This clinic is honestly the best pet clinic in town. I can not praise them enough! Today my golden doodle injested glass at home. I was turned away from the clinic that I have always went to as there was no vet on duty and sent here. Within 20 minutes of getting off the phone with a very kind, genuinely concerned lady from the Animal Clinic, my dog was in an examination room being treated. ( that includes rounding up my dogs, loading them up in the vehicle, driving to the clinic, and filling out paperwork ) So promptly. Upon arrival, my pup was treated as a priority. Even though I was not an established customer. I immensely appreciate the way the staff treated me and my pups. They were so professional, friendly, considerate, and truly caring. You could tell they all immensely loved animals. The best vet experience I have ever had. I need a vet that will be there when disaster strikes and is as concerned about my dogs as me. The Animal Clinic of Rapid City has gained a new customer.

I have to say that my experience here has been to notch. After consulting 3 other vets about some issues my dog was having I was very lucky to have found these folks. My wife used to manage a veterinarian office, so she knows her stuff. The great people at animal clinic of rapid City didn't try to get us to run unnecessary tests, or upsell anything, and we're able to dx my dog with the proper prognosis when the other 3 vets I visited could not. Highly recommend this place, and I won't be using any other vet!!

Took my cat in due to some bite or puncture wounds to her tail. While they cleaned and I assume gave her all the medications/antibiotics that they listed on the receipt... They ARE over priced compared to other veterinary clinics/offices in the area. HOWEVER... the reason for the one star and this review is I took my cat in on the 19th of Feb and today, the 28th of Feb... she took a healthy poop on the carpet (paper litter never works)... and now she has dozens and dozens of 1/4 inch long, white worms of some type in her poop and they are alive and moving. Worms she did not have before I took her in to this clinic. I know because I checked her poop that she freshly left in the litter pan the day before i took her in to the Animal Clinic of Rapid City. So now, after a $264 bill to clean up her tail and get some antibiotics, I'll have to spend even more money to have her looked at again by another clinic for the worm issue. And by the way, I have never had a cat that had any kind of worms ever in my entire life and I've had dozens of cats over the years... all but one were rescue shelter kittens... often more than one at a time. I wholeheartedly do NOT recommend this clinic unless you don't care about price or the health of your pet. I wonder they will have to say about this... that's if they even read these posts.

My dog was put on to high a dose of thyroid meds and almost killed him! 1. My first visit there I told them what dose he was on and they tripled it. 2. They never tested his thyroid level. 3. They went from a quarter of a pill dose to an entire pill. 4. I asked about blood testing his thyroid and was told it wasn't needed. I had an appointment set up with another vet, an eye specialist from Colorado. He took one look at my ( skin and bones) dog and tested his thyroid. EXTREMLY HYPERTHYROID! He was so weak he could hardly stand! 5. I was told to get him off the thyroid pills NOW. 6. I did, his eyes are back to normal, he has gained his weight back. WE WILL NEVER BE BACK!!!!!!!!!!

We have had 2 litters of puppies here and lost two of our beloved pets here. We knew the Dr was doing everything they could for our pets. We almost lost our mama Frenchie but they kept her there and nursed her to healthy and happy. They are very understanding about finances and clearly love the animals they treat.

Out of the blue one day our cat started not eating and was generally just acting very lethargic. We were obviously very concerned. Our normal vet didn't open for a while but the Animal Clinic was open. So we called and they were able to get us in right away. We were greeted by a warm, welcoming atmosphere and very friendly staff. Especially for 7 AM. They not only took great care of our cat, but great care of us as well, as we were obviously pretty shaken by this whole experience. Our cat stayed overnight and was ready to come home the next day. He is almost back to his normal self and we couldn't be happier. We will recommend Dr. Keith and all of the staff here to anyone that will listen and she will also be our normal vet going forward.

My family have been using this clinic for years and I can not express in words what great people and Doctors work at both the Animal Clinic and the Emergency Clinic. Having them available 24 hours a day for my pet is the best feeling in the world. Some times its just a question at 2 am about my pet or at other times major emergency with a surgery involved and every time they have been available and willing to help. The day practice keeps my kiddos well taken care. The wellness plans are fantastic and help me keep all of the shots current and up to date. I love all the Doctors and staff at both clinics. My partner and myself have been taking our dogs here for close to 3 years and have never had a horrible experience. The doctors we have seen are amazing and attentive. They show their love for animals by how they treat their "patients" and they take pride in work they do. Dr. Brigman is an amazing doctor and person. She helped us when our dog passed away. She tried everything she could do to save him, but unfortunately he couldn't be saved. She supported us, gave us our time to say good bye and we felt the passion she has and knew our dog was in good hands. Since our dog passed away, we got another dog to keep our other dog company since losing his best friend and Dr. Ketzner has been the doctor who has see both our dogs since then. She takes pride in her job and she takes our concerns to heart. She let's us know if she thinks something is serious or not. She makes us feel comfortable and assured she knows what is best. Our dogs love her. The rest of the staff at the Animal clinic are amazing. They make you feel like family and makes sure your animals do as well. They make sure your pets are taken care of and even play with them. My experience with this group of people has been nothing short of amazing. Thank you everyone for all you do!

I can't say enough how great the doctors and staff are here!!! Dr. Alyssa Keith went above and beyond to take care of our little one when she needed her teeth taken care of. Normally a dental cleaning is a routine procedure, but since our dog's breed is already sensitive to anesthesia, plus she is 15 and has a heart condition, it concerned us greatly. Dr. Keith spent lots of time with us explaining all that would be done to ensure our girl's safety and because it is a 24 hr. emergency clinic, when she had to spend the night, she was watched over all night long. Can't recommend them enough!!!!!!

Had came home from vacation and had just spent of $1500 in Colorado on our dog - had to have her re checked when we got home to make sure her blood sugar was in check - our "regular" vet would not get her in they were booked so we came here. In combination with the emergency clinic they saved my best buddy's life a few years ago and I will always be grateful. I just wanted to thank all of the staff at the emergency clinic. We were on vacation at Custer State Park when our dog Ziva became ill. We took her to the clinic and she was treated by Dr. Harris. I can not thank her and her staff enough for the care they gave Ziva.But I want to especially thank Dr. Harris, she was so warm and caring with Ziva . The nurses seemed like they kind of cared but they let me cat die and suffer because I didn’t have $800 at 11pm at night and wouldn’t wait till the next morning for banks to open to get that kind of money. So they wouldn’t touch my cat and help him. He could of been saved and alive if they would of helped him. He was still young and had lot of life left but they ended that for him. They are money hungry and don’t care about animals like most animal places should. That’s there profession and they had no care in the world. We lost our family cat over this.

I took my Newfoundland in to the emergency side a few weeks ago for a growth that had ruptured and would not stop bleeding. After talking with the vet we decided it had to be removed and I was concerned about putting him under because of his age. She told me that we did not really have a choice because of the bleeding. I knew she was right and she assured me that she would do it as fast as possible to minimize the risk. The whole staff that night was amazingly caring and I would recommend it To anyone. I thought the pricing was fair considering he weighs 170 Lbs and everything that was given to him was weight based. They sent me home with some pain control meds as well. Great place with caring people is my biggest concern. I would personally pay more to go to a vet I know has a big heart for animals because some pets are such a huge part of some families.

Switched over to this vet after being tired of our last vet price gouging us. 2 shots used to cost 120-150, now this place runs us 70-90. Just had one of my dogs teeth cleaned and 5 teeth had to be removed. After getting quotes for 500-1000 dollars around town I was expecting the same from this vet. But walked out only spening little less than 400. Plus my dog was happy and we were well treated. We are very pleased with our new vet choice.

While visiting Rapid City my dog, Shadow, started to show signs that he wasn't feeling well. After waking the next morning and not seeing any improvement, I decided to look online for a vet that we could take him to. Animal Clinic of Rapid City had the best reviews, so we decided to schedule a same day appointment with them. The front desk and clinical staff were professional, friendly and caring. When we met with Dr. Keith, she was compassionate and gentle with Shadow and diagnosed his problem right away. Unfortunately, Shadow had cancer and we made the tough decision that Shadow would not be returning home with us. We decided to give ourselves a day to say our good-byes and my husband and son brought Shadow back the next day where he crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. While our story is not typical, I did want to let everyone know that this staff is outstanding and deserves every bit of the 5 stars. Your pet would be lucky to be cared for by the wonderful doctors and staff here. Today, when I came home, Shadow's remains were waiting along with the most amazing sympathy card that means the world to me. Thank you, Animal Clinic of Rapid City, for your kind hearts and compassion for all of us during such a difficult situation.

Don't do it, we had a friend watching our dog while we left town for a couple days. She had to take her in to get some stitches, charged us $600 to have them done. The vet didn't sew her up correctly so when I got home had to take the dog to a real vet to redo the stitches. Luckily my vet doesn't try and take advantage of people and charged me $110 to have it done properly.

Thanksgiving morning and our vet's clinic is closed, and when else would we have an emergency. Telephone recording directed us to call this clinic. I called them and they said come on in. One of our cats had a hole in his neck. Literally a hole in his neck. What it actually was an abscess burst. What a wonderful clinic. She examined our baby, cleaned the wound, a long acting antibiotic shot, and a long acting anti inflammatory, home care explained, we were out of there. She was absolutely right. It is healing from the inside out. No stitches were needed. Absolutely recommend this clinic.
