Working with Paulsen's in regards to my Aunt's medications has been terrific customer service. They have been helpful, responsive and very nice. They make and deliver her bubble packs of medications monthly.

Shopped here for pharmacy needs for many years. Best pharmacy I have used in my many years in Portland.

When you enter you are greeted by someone immediately and offered a soda from the soda fountain... it's old school. It's like family. I won't go anywhere else. It's local and they care.

Great local pharmacy one of the few left in Portland. I highly recommend getting your prescriptions filled here if you can to support a Portland institution. Plus they're really friendly and helpful.

Paulsen's is no longer locally owned. It has been sold to a chain. The worst thing this pharmacy did was that they refilled a prescription with the wrong dosage. I had prescriptions for two different dosages of the same medicine. The present r/x is two 25 mg tabs per day (totaling 50 mg per day); the old rx was two 100 tabs per day (totaling 200 mg a day). There have been other changes in my medication, which means that they balance out fine. This pharmacy filled the 100 tab rx, which was old, and I no longer take that much. I called the pharmacy and left a message about this mistake. The pharmacy did a refill for me; but never called back with an apology or reason for their serious mistake. If I had not studied the label on the bottle, it would have been dangerous for me to take 200 mg/day instead of the new rx of 50 mg a day. Another thing – believe it or not, this pharmacy’s phone number will actually sound the “busy” signal sometimes. Very remarkable and unprofessional not to allow a Hold or possibly to leave a voice mail. I had only recently transferred to Paulsen’s from a different local pharmacy, which had changed ownership and become sloppy. I’ve only been with Paulsen’s for about 6 weeks and have transferred to a national chain. Wish I could find a local pharmacy that was competent. Update: I have not been a Paulsen's customer for over a month now, for the reasons I have written here already. But today I received a robocall from them.

I am absolutely amazed that Paulsen's is still there after all these years! Used to go for REAL Cokes, an occasional milkshake and of course, to pick up prescriptions (with a note) for my parents. That was in the 40's-50's which gives you and idea of my age. Thank's for being there Paulsen's.......very fond memories.

My spouse likes this Pharmacy , and I have tried to , but frankly I have never gotten a warm and fuzzy feeling from them. They are just not that friendly. The staff working the counter are often curt and sharp, and seem to lack basic customer service skills of politeness and rapport. Going back to Walgreens. At least they try and they have much better hours.

I love the personal touch, and that is what you get at this pharmacy. It harkens back to a time when pharmacies had soda fountains and the pharmacist knew you by your first name. Well, Paulsen's does have a soda fountain, and the pharmacist knows my name. It is a totally different experience than you will have at a chain pharmacy, or a WalMart.
