Paulsen's is no longer locally owned. It has been sold to a chain.
The worst thing this pharmacy did was that they refilled a prescription with the wrong dosage. I had prescriptions for two different dosages of the same medicine. The present r/x is two 25 mg tabs per day (totaling 50 mg per day); the old rx was two 100 tabs per day (totaling 200 mg a day). There have been other changes in my medication, which means that they balance out fine. This pharmacy filled the 100 tab rx, which was old, and I no longer take that much. I called the pharmacy and left a message about this mistake. The pharmacy did a refill for me; but never called back with an apology or reason for their serious mistake. If I had not studied the label on the bottle, it would have been dangerous for me to take 200 mg/day instead of the new rx of 50 mg a day.
Another thing – believe it or not, this pharmacy’s phone number will actually sound the “busy” signal sometimes. Very remarkable and unprofessional not to allow a Hold or possibly to leave a voice mail.
I had only recently transferred to Paulsen’s from a different local pharmacy, which had changed ownership and become sloppy. I’ve only been with Paulsen’s for about 6 weeks and have transferred to a national chain. Wish I could find a local pharmacy that was competent.
Update: I have not been a Paulsen's customer for over a month now, for the reasons I have written here already. But today I received a robocall from them.
