The go-to place in Murray Hill for prescriptions, toiletries, healthcare products, etc. What it lacks in space it more than makes up in selection --incl. exotic and hard-to-find imports in the shaving, fragrances and personal care sections-- service and price. Outscores the big chains in just about every segment.

Entering Pasteur is an experience not unlike those I used to have in music, book and liquor stores. It is a place of wonder and surprise. Who knew there were so many kinds of combs and hair brushes or that any store juxtaposed high and low end hair products on adjacent shelves? Often items call out my name and ask to be purchased. Stuff I've never even thought about. Its an amazing place. I moved my prescription business to Pasteur after Duane Reade had made it impossible to use my flexible spending card. Pasteur is not as convenient as Duane Reade theoretically is because they are not open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. On the other hand their service is normally superior. This weekend, however, they finally failed. Called in a delivery order for my prescriptions on Saturday and they did not arrive. Since Pasteur is not open on Sunday I've had all day to stew about it. I am sure they will fix it on Monday, but the combination of screw up and not being open on the following day causes me to lower their service score by a rating.

So I started working in this area in October of last year and strolled over to the local Duncan Donuts and notice wet shaving supplies in the window. I stroll in and they have my 2 go to creams, Perasso and Taylor’s. I purchase a tub of Taylor’s and keep it moving, resonably priced I might add. I occasionally peak in to see what they have and low and behold they have the Parker Variant, which I recently read reviews on. Well since it is priced competitively, I purchase it along with some other shaving items to take home to test on my next shave. Well the razor is top notched, BBS with a Derby Platinum Blade on a setting of 31/2, 2 passes and a clean up using Perasso Sensitive cream and an Edwin Jagger Silver Tip. Since then I have purchased a Rockwell 6C that I purchased today. Their prices are competitive, rare for the ability to “get it now” and not online. Most impressive is the Owner Leon who is not only engaging, but has a plethora of knowledge of Wet Shaving and Products as well as the vast selection of products in store . I would still be there chatting if we both didn’t have prior agendas for the day. This is now my go to spot for Wet Shaving and to meet my new friend, the owner Leon who is fantastic.

Wow!! Popped in yesterday whilst visiting from the UK........ Overwhelmed by the vast amount of wet shaving gear! I spent the best part of 2 hours here smelling all the soaps. Ended up with a basket full of goodies. There was even a chap (so sorry not to ask your name) bringing out extra bits for me to have a look at. A wet shavers paradise, and prices seemed very good too! If you love shaving and are in the area, this shop is a MUST!

For those looking for shaving products this place has an excellent selection. In fact, it has a an excellent selection of everything related to personal care including a full pharmacy in the back. Items are jam packed in the aisles and they are constantly busy restocking. It can be a little confusing to find something so ask any plain clothed person working there: it is very likely they know immediately if they have it, where it is, and the alternatives. I wouldn't necessarily rely on the staff for expert advice but they know what sells and what doesn't. For straight and DE razor shaving supplies it is hard to beat. There are over 20 offerings of blades, creams, aftershaves, handles, and brushes... EACH. It is also nice that they go from the affordable (<$10) to the high end ($100 for a brush). Small front entrance, look for the huge neon sign.

What a pharmacy should be. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, helpful, caring. But I go mostly for the shaving products. It's shaving paradise. From the quotidian to the truly offbeat, you can find it here--creams, soaps, razors, aftershaves, from dirt cheap to pricey, all of it carefully chosen. I've been a customer for years and it's like going to the toy store. The owner is a great guy, and this is the kind of small business New York used to be known for. It's truly fantastic.

Pasteur Pharmacy is a bit of a relic from days gone by. Of course it still has all the amenities of modern pharmacies, except perhaps the hours. I came here in search of dual-edge safety razors for shaving, and I was met with a larger selection than I knew what to do with. I came to pick up just one pack of Feather razors, maybe two, and I left with 3 packs of razors, some new sandalwood soap, and a stand for my brush. While the people working here are more than willing to help you, this place is definitely somewhere you would go if you know what you're looking for. The sheer variety of products they have, specifically in the vein of shaving, can be daunting.

Stay clear from this pharmacy!! They are selling old, expired products.I live nearby and I always tried to buy my cosmetics in there in order to help this "small" business. Yesterday as I was buying my products, I overheard one lady asking for refund because the product she bought was far from what she is acquainted. When I got home and opened my product (klorane leave in) it was pure vinegar!!! I tried to get my money back but I was yelt at and offered store credits. Bad costumer service!! Be careful, principally if u are buying medicine... You can be a lil bit messed up!
