Excellent local pharmacy!

Several days ago, my husband's doctor called in a prescription for needed high blood pressure medication to be ready when we arrived in NYC from abroad. Today my husband went to collect it at 9 a.m. The prescription wasn't available, nor was the pharmacist. He returned to check two hours after his first visit, only to be told again the pharmacist would call when they are available. He was told (both times) that the pharmacist would call him when the prescription is ready. It is now over four hours later, and he has still not received a call! We are very unimpressed with the service at this pharmacy and will be telling our son who lives here to find a different pharmacy.

Through multiple changes in residence, phone number, and insurance provider I have never had an issue at Hartley Pharmacy that was not quickly and conveniently managed. My prescription needs are always met and in a professional and neighborly manner. I have never had a better pharmacists.

Best pharmacy ever. When I moved to the city 6 months ago my husband and I ran into some snags trying to get all of our prescriptions transferred and the pharmacist went above and beyond to help us get everything sorted out. She and her staff have been living up to their 5-star reputation ever since. If you are in the Columbia University area, Hartley Pharmacy is absolutely the place to go. You will not be dissapointed.

The best pharmacy I have ever been to; trust me, I have been a nurse for 6 years and have lived in 5 major cities. The pharmacist (Tao/Tau I believe) is absolutely fantastic. She and the cashier (forgive me, I forget her name) seem to always be on duty and thank God they are. Care about you? Check. Know you by name? Check. Go above and beyond to make sure you get what you need? Check. They were even willing to add themselves to a new insurance plan from Washington State to help me get my meds (I ended up getting Columbia insurance so it was a moot point in the end); I can't imagine that would be economically profitable. They just care about you. Seriously above and beyond.

It is becoming ever rarer in our society to get real, personalized, customized, friendly, thoughtful, helpful, intelligent personal service: but, miraculously, in this pharmacy and with this pharmacist, that is what you get. I think that, most people who have used Duane Reade and CVS will, like me, stop using them after getting a prescription filled at Hartley Pharmacy. I don't think that anyone who uses those chains would ever think of them in terms of "my pharmacist". But the pharmacist at Hartley Pharmacy is my pharmacist. I feel very fortunate, and I know other customers who feel the same way. And the other staff members are warm and helpful. I think of them all as part of my neighborhood family.

This is a wonderful pharmacy with a pharmacist who really cares about her customers. She knows you by name and will go the extra mile. So very rare in a city where chain stores and poor service are rampant. A welcome reminder of what a neighborhood store should be.

Excellent service/staff. The pharmacist is really great about working with customers to resolve prescribing issues, special order medical supplies, etc. BUT they sometimes overcharge for prescriptions.

Excellent service and caring, thoughtful, professional pharmacist. She has caught errors in my father's prescriptions that his doctors did not notice. That has saved us much more than time or money, but the pharmacy is both prompt at filling orders and has competitive prices for OTC medications.

hartley is the best. they remember your name and face, are extremely friendly, and treat you like a human being. they are usually very quick with your prescriptions too, usually they can have them ready in 30 min.

Great pharmacy. I used to go there while I was a student at university nearby. Very professional, kind, compassionate staff. Great selection of other goods. The only thing is they need to hire better lottery tickets sales person. He really doesn't fit there.
