You know I have discovered that these reviews are nearly always terrible. I wondered why, so I did some reading about the psychology that motivates a person to take the time to sit down and bang out a review. It turns out that more often than not these reviews are the result of a "HORN EFFECT" judgement that is pervasive. The HORN EFFECT is a mental model in which the reviewer allows one trait, in this case negative, to overshadow all other considerations in an expressed opinion. With that in mind I wanted to take the time to publish my experience with the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy. I am a Nurse Anesthetist, CRNA, relocating to New Mexico after practicing for 30 years in North Carolina. There are simply too many schools churning out too many new CRNAs in North Carolina.
I did have some confusion about the application process to apply for a license to prescribe controlled substances since there was no such requirement in any of the other states I've been licensed. I called the Board and to my surprise, a very pleasant young lady answered on the second ring. She was professional, patient, and knowledgeable. She took the time to listen to my problem. She helped me locate the information on the website and seemed genuinely concerned that I was clear on what was expected to complete the application process. Later I was not confident that I had computed the correct fee amount and called the same number. I got another live person who was equally patient, professional, and knowledgeable. Today I called just to check on the progress of my application. I encountered the same experience as my previous calls. I have found the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy to be the absolute opposite of what I expected after reading these reviews. Not getting the answer you want is not a reflection on the source of the information.
